February 27, 201411 yr I found no solid answers, unfortunately. My quick 5 min search tells me that Nosferatu is just the name of a character meant to be Dracula. And the word "nosferatu" has since been adopted to as a synonym for vampire/dracula, or a type of a vampire.

I was more curious to see what the word itself was based in, if it translated to anything. I was disappointed to find that it seems to be made up fakey fake.
