I just got Bravely Default today,and let me tell ya right from the opening cutscene I was immediately in love with the game

 

 

I'm playing the game now and it's what I always wanted from a Final Fantasy game since 2006

 

The battle system is great,the new artstyle for the background looks beautiful,the story feels like a Final Fantasy game more than any of the console FF titles we've got since 2006 up to 2014....heck most of the familiar themes you expect from a FF game(crystals,summons...etc) are here and the game deserves to be called a Final Fantasy

 

heck for those who don't know,the game was actually a sequel to a DS game called Final Fantasy the Four Heroes of Light,but the development team decided to change the name so it can be it's own thing without relying on the brand's name to sell

 

Also,a side note,this game has the best use for the AR feature on the 3DS.....EVERRRR!!! If you've played the game you know exactly what I'm talking about

 

So far this game is amazing,and it's a shame that Square Enix refused to publish the game outside of Japan and asked Nintendo to publish it here,but they choose to publish and support the much inferior game of Toriyama's waifu

 

Heck,Bravely Default actually managed to outsold LRFFXIII in North America

That should be enough to send a message to Square Enix,the game they abandoned and turned out managed to beat the game they published and marketed like crazy during 2013 while Bravely Default was only shown in Nintendo direct episodes

It's better than FINAL FANTASY- it bravely defaults from the franchise

I don't agree with you comparing Bravely Default to Lightning Returns just to take a jab at the latter.

 

Nevertheless I completely agree with you that the game is exactly what we've come to expect Final Fantasy should be. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I cannot thank Nintendo enough for helping bringing it over from Japan. Square Enix weren't going to do it that's for sure.The best part is that Nintendo did well in helping it sell. Hopefully this means Bravely Second will be localised without the fans having to beg for it.

 

On another note, who so far is your favourite character? I personally cannot get enough of Ringabell, he's such a cool guy.

Aaaand yet another tasteless jab at Lightning and LR. Kind of tired of seeing these and I'm not even that into the XIII trilogy (having only played the first one and thinking it was ok)

 

Bravely Default is just what it is, Bravely Default. It doesn't need to be viewed as worthy of being FF title because it's not, especially since the developers took their approach to story telling and gameplay from western video games and television and said they deviated from the ways of FFIII and FFV because they saw potential of other sorts within this game.

 

And no it wasn't a sequel to the 4 Heroes of Light, it's been called a spiritual successor, not the same thing. And even then that's not necessarily true.

Way earlier in the development it was planned to be a sequel to 4 heroes of Light but once the storyline got changed during development they decided to change the name,also the gameplay is a gameplay of a JRPG not a Western RPG

 

And my opinion isn't tasteless,I have the right to voice my opinion as long as I'm not attacking the people who liked it,Freedom of speech anyone?

 

I shouldn't be forced to like a game I hate just because you liked it!

It isn't a sequel to 4HoL you are right there but it was originally going to be and it follows the same mythology that we expect from Final Fantasy games.

You don't have to be forced to like a game but you also shouldn't forcefully hate on the game just for the sake of it. I think if you'd have mentioned it once or twice then it would be fine but you seem a little obsessed with hating it for whatever reason it might be.

All I'm saying is why do you feel the need to bring it up constantly? Referring Lightning to Shitning and stuff just shows you being very childish. I just think your OP could have been worded a little differently and you didn't need to use Bravely Default to take yet another swing at LR:FF. Each to their own of course though..

The derpy picture is just for fun and laughs I could've used the official boxart but most of the pictures I found of it are bigger than what I needed
