NA got ORIGINS, AU & EU got PSP remakes of the first two FF games digitally

Posted

North America got the PS one Classic of FINAL FANTASY ORIGINS released on the PlayStation Store on January 10, 2011. Australia and Europe got the PlayStation Portable remakes of FINAL FANTASY and FINAL FANTASY II released digitally on February 16, 2011 and March 2, 2011 respectively.

Question is why? Japan got both apparently.

The PSP selling below par in North America could be a reason.

Anyone else got an idea as to why North America got the PS one Classic and not the PSP remakes?

Or why Australia & Europe got the PSP remakes but not the PS one Classic?

the PSP versions are prettier and don't have horrendous loading times

We got the remakes too, just as a physical disc. Having the disc is a lot better.

I'm well aware of that, and PAL regions got FINAL FANTASY ORIGINS on CD-ROM as well. I'm talking about on the PlayStation Store.

And also, for PSP games to play on PS Vita they need to be on the PlayStation Store.
