( Yea, I wrote the damn thing! ^o^ Any feedback? It kinda changed from the original idea a little.......)

It was a dark time: murders happened on street corners, robberies occured by the hour, no one dared walk the streets after nightfall.
At the edge of the largest city known, a acadmey took up the task of training the new generation of fighter: called Vladimer's, or Vlad's for short, the school was of some prestige in its old-world and vaugely archaic manners.
Namely, the fact they lost students by the day, as the weak were weaded out in unusual and heinous " tests " that invovled more hand to hand combat than writing or studying.
The time is now, the hour late...
As we begin the story of the uncertain future, the future of our society, or a form of it.

Chapter 1: Train Ride
The train rattled along the tracks, the noise drowning out all chances of thinking, as I stared out the window, the book in my lap ignored.
The views outside were far from cheering: burned out building, smoky, ashen towns, barren fields, and factorys.
Feeling utterly depressed, I decided to give the book another try: a page in, and I tossed good ol' Shakespear across the car, feeling a sense of satifaction when it thunked into the wall, the binding splitting.
I glared, then sighed: this was going to happen whether I liked it or not.
My cousin was one, my brother was one....
I was next in line to join the ranks of future Guardians at Vlad's, marching across the emerald lawns in endless formations drills, up at dawn bed at dusk, strict diet and stricter exercise.
God help me, I was so excited for it.

I like the idea of a academy training warriors to protect the peace.

Don't tell anyone I stole that from RWBY.

UPDATE:

Until I get my regular laptop back, this is on hiatus: all my notes, drafts, character references, and mood music were on that computer, so this borrowed one won't do much good for my writing.

I appreciate you guys reading it, and the positive ( so far ) feedback on it, but for now, just hang tight.

I'll get the next chapter up as soon as is feasibly possible.

UPDATE THE SECOND:

Since I can't post the chapter, I'm gonna post some of my notes for the second chapter, as written in my notebook.

School is 300 plus years, 12 stories, mostly stonework. General look is old world backlash, with modern look inside.

Students are required to speak 12 languages, be skilled in hand to hand combat, sword fight, survival skills, and sewing ( For damaged arties and uniforms in field )

Classes are 2 to 3 hours, and a student usually dies in one each day.

Term in 358 days, with a week off to visit friends and family.

Graduates receive a gun, license to carry out assassinations, and a medal.

Teachers are ex cons and/or skilled assassins.

That's kinda all so far: anyone like?

CHAPTER UPDATE:

Hiatus: I'll get this done when I get my computer back: the one I'm on doesn't have a wordpad program, so just hang tight on the next one.

It will be posted this month.
