I think you're misinterpreting this. The original version didn't fail because the graphics were "too good". What they mean is that they put too much focus on graphics, instead of focusing on the experience and getting the game released. It doesn't mean that they have to reduce the graphics to make it enjoyable or anything like that.

I'm not interested in purchasing the game, I'm just saying that the graphical differences are negligible based on your post.

Well yes, they're. There is a clear advantage over the PS3 version, but the PS4 version has only slightly lower graphics than the PC version.
