ive heard that its the best game on the dreamcast and even the best game ever. i really want to try it but its very expensive now. do you think Shenmue is awesome and worth the purchase?

I think its probably a good game but I wouldn't get a Dreamcast for it alone.

I think Shenmue II is better, and the Xbox version can play on the Xbox 360.

i already have a dreamcast so thats not the problem. the problem is buying the game. its more expensive than what i bought the dreamcast for. ($30)

I hear both games are really good. Though fans of the series have been wanting a 3rd one for ages because of how Shenmue II ended.

 

Personally I've never played them because I don't have a Dreamcast but from what I've seen it's a game that really was ahead of its time when it came out.

I know Shenmue as the progenitor of the quicktime event and open world game style. If you're down for those two aspects, go for it I guess.
