Hey there everyone, how's it going? First of all, Happy 4th of July everybody, I hope your all enjoying the festivities with your families, friends and loved ones! Now then, I am here to provide my review of Michael Bay's latest film, Transformers: Age Of Extinction. While I realize a lot of you don't like Michael Bay's interpretation of the Robots in Disguise, you have to admit that the special effects that go with the battles and explosions really make for some impressive eye candy, and well, I say that for those who didn't like the other three movies that much, please give this one a chance! I'll obviously not reveal any spoilers, because that would suck, so yeah, here's my review!
So then, the movie takes place five years after the battle of Chicago from Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, and since that time, humans have decided to hunt down any alien robots left on the planet, regardless if it's Autobots or Decepticons. Seeing that the Autobots were in danger, Optimus Prime sent a message to his comrades to go into hiding so that they could stay away from the humans. Those that were hunted down by the humans were murdered mercilessly, and it turns out they are working in conjunction with Lockdown, a mysterious foe who wants to restore order. Then we go to Cade Yaegar, who's a struggling father trying to make ends meet so that he can get his daughter Tessa through college, and through the mystical hand of fate, Cade came into possession of a truck that turns out to be Optimus Prime. Overall, the story is pretty good, and the plot twists are epic, and the funny moments are top notch, oh, and please don't get me started on the battle sequences, because they are frickin amazing!
Now that we have the plot summarized, let me tell you my general opinion on the movie. The characters are great and funny, the new Autobots are amazing, and the best thing is that they get more screen time! One of the new Autobots I loved most was Drift, a samurai Autobot who calls Optimus Sensei and doesn't get along with Bumblebee because of his "childish ways." Lol, Crosshairs and Hound were also epic, and as for the enemies, Lockdown was very formidable, and Galvatron was a treat, and a tease! The action was frenetic and heart pounding, but what I loved the most was Optimus Prime's darker side shown to light. Obviously, since his comrades are being murdered by humans, Optimus has grown disgusted and resentful of humans, and well, you can clearly see that he's pissed, and it allows you to see Prime in a new light. The music is also amazing, composed by none other than the amazing Hanz Zimmer, and the song from Imagine Dragons called Battle Cry was featured in the movie, which gave me goosebumps when it played. O.O
Anyways, the movie was amazing, the action was fantastic, the explosions were mind numbing, and the Autobots and nameless foes were frickin badass! This movie sets the stage for the coming sequels, and I can personally say that I'm looking forward to seeing Transformers 5 when it comes out! And yes, I loved the other three films too, they were epic. So in conclusion, don't listen to what the critics are saying about Age Of Extinction! The movie is amazing, it's epic, and a worthwhile watch! Not to mention there's a couple of Easter Eggs thrown in there for good measure, even a My Little Pony reference! Haha, anyways, this is my review of Age Of Extinction! Golden out!
And a note to the mods, please note that this is my personal review for the movie, please keep this as a separate topic, I'll appreciate it very much! X_X
Edit: Also, please note that the Dinobots were frickin amazing! They were badass and fearsome and deadly! They were a great part of the movie!
