I think that they could have just skipped DDD

Posted

Most of the plot important stuff in there could have been fit into III.

this was a perfect lead into III, it's kind of disappointing that they didn't just go with this.

The mark of mastery exam could have been a duel for firetrucks sake, and I think the Lea scenes would have fit perfectly into III.

and you think that Xion would fit to appear suddenly in 3D without any past story whatsoever? I actually agree about Re:Coded.

We technically don't need Xion. She basically doesn't exist anymore, as much as i like her character, she's not needed anymore. Not to mention, in everyone's memories, the plot of 358 went on as it did without her. If that makes sense in the characters altered memories of canon, that obviously means she didn't need to be there for things to go the way they did.

What importance has Xion had to the story? The series wouldn't be any weaker if she didn't exist, since she hasn't done anything apart from being a pawn for Xemnas.

Lol, thanks to her Sora had some of his memories back and this is enough to be important.

Her appearance revealed many holes like how Roxas had his second keyblade by awakening Xion's keyblade at the last mission in Days/ Secret ending of KH1 and it explains why Riku didn't attack Roxas when falling from the building at TWTNW. It is true that she doesn't exist but she is still one of the people that needs help and Sora will find a solution for her exactly as Roxas and Namine. In addition, she might be helpful at the final battle and after all we cannot forget that she was part of the encouragement to Sora in 3D.

We could easily explain Roxas's reasoning for his second keyblade being because he was Sora's Nobody, and had Ven's heart at the same time as developing his own. I know Xion was important, but like i said, if events in the memories of the people who knew her in 358 could make enough sense that she didn't need to be there for them to happen, then she kinda isn't needed TBH. I still think 358 isnt needed, we were fine with what we learned about Roxas in II anyway. All 358 did was go into detail about his year with the org.

Then we would have had like a six year gap between new KH games....

Or a remake for KH1 or a remaster days and then we might get also KHX.

Well, it shows actual character development in Riku. Plus, we get to know that there will be a keyblade war that will happen in Kingdom Hearts 3. If they were to skip DDD, then there will be a huge plot hole and so much confusion.
