Mega Altaria and Mega Salamence will probably be game exclusive. I have a pretty good Salamence in XY with Dragon Dance and Dragon Pulse and I was planning to bring it over to ORAS once it comes out. The only problem is, I don't know which game will have which mega stones. I hope that is revealed at some point.

If we are going by Ruby and Sapphire exclusives, Swablu and Altaria along with Bagon, Shelgon, and Salamence will probably not be exclusives. Are you planning on getting both games? If thats the case, Pokémon Bank will help with the whole Megastone exclusive issue. If not, then you will probably have to wait until a couple of days or weeks after release to find out. I don't think they would announce those, and they'll probably keep it as a secret like they did for XY.

I just mean the mega stones, I have the Salamence already. I plan to get bank eventually for the sake of transferring my pokemon from Y to OR/AS. I've been planning on just getting OR, but after this dawned upon me I'm not sure about which one to get. Considering the red one usually has the cooler pokemon though, it'll probably be OR.

Yeah for now just pick a version. I really do doubt they wont announce version exclusive megastones before hand. Besides, I'm pretty sure that contest lady with the Altaria will give you a megastone for Altaria.
