The day was hot and murky in the town. That seemed indifferent to Haru, as he was deep in his studies, flipping through the book for his English class at the school library. He sighed, and looked out the window. "That feeling won't leave..." He looked left and right, but still felt something was a bit... Off... Maybe he should go to the Cafe.... He heard coffee calms nerves

 

Watari worked the cafe as he owned it, with pride and care. He prepared some coffee from future recipients, human or non. Like all ghouls, he could smell ghoul from human, and knew how to act accordingly for both. He went upstairs to check on his employees/room owners, beckoning Lyle, a ghoul immigrant from America, to take over.

 

The owner of the gourmet hall looked out the window, and waited in anticipation to hear about a new delicacy.... He could feel that something... New... Would come soon....

Ren just entered the café, her hood pulled up. She walked up to the counter slowly, holding out some money and making eye contact with Watari.

"Extra sugar and vanilla extract plese." She said, putting the money down and waiting.

After a couple of minutes, she got her coffee and started finding a table, when she saw Haru, Ren immidently sat in the chair in front of him, not saying a word, just simply staring.

"How cute!" Libi glanced at the venetian looking mask. She had been thinking of getting a mask recently,but not for a party or costume wise,but more in the concern of the matter of the matter to keep her identity a secret when going on and about hunting. She was worried that the tale of a lady would lead to physical descriptions that would lead to her. She wanted to be more careful,as her biggest fear was to be tortured and killed by the doves. Oh how she come to hate that animal because of them. Buying the venetian mask,she looked down at her watch and realized her shift started in a matter of minutes. "Crap!" With that she waved goodbye and thank you to the sales person and started to run off to reach the cafe. She was careful not to be too fast,nor too strong in public,but just fast enough to hopefully reach her shift. It wasn't hard even as she was wearing heels. She had somehow managed to pull that off. She was a lively person with plenty of laughs and charisma to go for her,the only difference between her and her human pals being that she wasn't human,and that humans were her lunch and dinner. How sometimes she wished she was human though. Because human food did look good,but to ghouls it was like rat poison,horrible tasting and disgusting and dangerous to ingest.

Watari was upstairs, talking to one of the residents. A woman, who needed help adjusting to the new life in the town. "-now, all you have to do is pretend to eat the human food. Fake chew about 3-10 times, avoiding tongue contact, then swallow." The woman was taking notes diligently. "Then excuse yourself, and throw up in the nearest bathroom possible-walk, don't run!- and...evacuate the contents." He sniffed. A ghoul was downstairs. "Exercise me." He said to the woman, and left the room, closing the door behind him, and going downstairs.

 

Haru looked at the girl. He wondered if this girl could even afford the coffee. He wouldn't help her, however. She looked dangerous, and a bit creepy.... He noticed she was looking at him. He waved his hand, as if to satisfy some curiosity the girl had. He needed to get out of here after he finished what he needed to do...

Ren smiled at Haru, she looked at the window outside before looking back at Haru.

"It is a nice day isnt it?" She asked.

Haru then held out her hand to Haru.

"Ren Sakibara. Nice to meet you." She said with a smile.

She boy simply looked appetizing.

"Do you need help with what you are doing?" Ren asked.

Libi quickly entered the cafe though not in the most elegant manner,but she managed to get there before her shift started. "I'm not late~"Libi said smiling as she hurried over the counter and picked up the apron,wrapping it around her waist and collar,quickly starting her shift as she usually did. She would get the mask in her room later,for the moment it was safe where it was. There was a special thing about her in the cafe though,she rollerskated. As she wrapped around the roller skates on her feet she jumped up and gave a small spin. "Kawaii!"Libi giggled to herself as she struck a pose. Suddenly she finally calmed down enough for her sense of smell to warn her that there was another ghoul within the cafe,and not one that she knew about. "(A customer maybe?)"Libi thought as she glanced around,making sure not to stare at anyone in specific. Picking up trays of food,she went ahead and skated across the cafe,handing out food and drinks while taking orders as happily as she usually did. She absolutely loved her job. It kept her entretained and talking to the humans always made her feel that she fit in perfectly despite her inhuman being of living. She skated pass Haru and Ren,stopping for a moment. "Do you guys need anything?"Libi asked as she could feel the sense of smell sting her nose. The ghoul was here,but she wasn't going to let herself make obvious about it.

Ren looked over to Libi, her shaking her head.

"No, we are fine. Thank you." She said, looking to Libi and smiling as soon as eye contact was made.

Ren moved beside Haru, getting a bit too close for him to just be a new friend.

"Aiiishi, what a humid day!" groaned the raven haired boy, walking into an alleyway. His remark alerted the Dove who was searching inside a dumpster for ghoul-knows-what. They were respectable, having saved his own life, but the majority were idiots in his opinion. He didn't even need a mask, his hair and hood were enough to hide his identity.

 

"Stand back, citizen. This is an impor-"

 

In a split-second, a red mass impaled the man, shoving him against the wall. His quinque briefcase was flung out of reach.

 

Lucifer smirked as he closed in on the unfortunate person.

 

"You Dove's think you're so powerful, don't you.  So righteous. The power isn't in your hands. It isn't even in God, either. It's in me."

 

"K-ku...kuso.... " was his final words as Lucifer drove his kagune into the man's brain.

 

As he feasted on his victim, a lingering thought persisted him. More Doves would be sent to replace the fallen. More violence. More hate. It didn't matter. Either side being wiped out would be a blessing.

 

He giggled a sound of pure innocence.

 

All his plans would shift into motion eventually. For now, he needed gossip. And what better place than the coffee shop.

Haru jolted a bit from the touch of the girls body. It felt a bit rough on his body, and he didn't know what it was...plus her shirt smelled...strange.. He looked at the woman. "I wanna order a sandwich.. And a soda...." He said, shivering. He didn't remember what the woman's name was... He saw a old man (Watari) come downstairs, and closed the door behind him. "How are you today, Libi?" The old man chuckled, as he walked behind the booth, grabbing the apron.

Ren backed away from Haru. He didn't like her and that was obvious. Guess she would have to make his death brutally painful. She lay her head down, looking at Watari, her eyes glaring at the man.

"Hello moshi moshi~!" 

A few ghouls turned around in the cafe to notice the bloodstained boy who suddenly entered the shop, then returned to their coffee.

 

"Black coffee, two sugars, hold the honey. You know what that did to Samson."  Lucifer chirped.

 

It was a habit of his, referencing biblical quotes, and what better book than a 600 page one.

 

Nonchalantly scanning the room, he noticed a girl in an oversized coat glaring at a boy. Amusing, he smelled like a human.

 

Wait.

 

He brisked his pace toward them until he was an inch apart from the boy's back.

 

"Why hello there. Lucifer sends his greetings to you." He turned towards the girl. " And you, my dear."

"Oh!" Haru said. Looking at her. "I'm sorry, miss!" He shouldn't have been rude to her. Maybe she was homeless, or down on her luck and just needed a companion... He felt like a heel. "Just...you scared me for a bit. I'm sorry..." He looked at the waitress. "I'll pay for this girls food, okay? Do it for me..." He gave her what money he had, and nodded, to show his guilt. Then another boy showed up. "Uh...hi..."

Libi jotted down the order and took the money. "Alright I'll get it going quickly."Libi smiled as she glanced at Ren and then glanced back up,jotting down the order of the upcoming kid. "Will get it started right away!"With that she skated away. She didn't know what that ghoul was planning,but she could take a good guess,and as long as it didn't take place inside the cafe everything should be fine. "Good day Watari. I'm good. The weather is lovely and I saw the cutest puppy on my way back here. I couldn't help but to want to pet it but I didn't. It was so fluffy and tiny and adorable."Libi smiled as she skated pass him gently, her bubbly personality seemed to radiant off her. She served up the soda as the sandwich was made by one of the cooks. She took a glance of the calendar on the wall and couldn't help but to lose herself in thought for a few seconds. "(Tonight's that time of the month. At least my stomach is kind enough to stick to schedule. Last time I thought I would have to do double feeding for the month.)"Libi thought as she bit her bottom lip unconciously. She felt bad hunting for humans. In the beginning,and even now from time to time she would find herself stepping back away from a potential snack due to not wanting to cut a life short,only to force herself and find another victim. She didn't hunted children,nor old people. Instead she went for the middle ages,single,loner demographic,along with the delinquent troublemaking type. If she was going to end up killing someone she might as well help the world by killing those who are only making it filthy. Being brought back into thought by the ring of the bell,Libi smiled and picked up the plate with the sandwich along with the sofa and skated off back to the table,settling the order down. "Here we go,if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask."Libi chuckled as she looked up at Lucifer. "Your coffee will be ready in a minute sir." How could such a happy personality be something as terrible as a ghoul?

Ren scrambled up, looking at Haru.

"Y-You dont have to!" She said immidently.

She was too late however, The food was in the making.

Once it was cooked, Ren lay her head back down. After Haru would eat she would start with her plan.

"What is your name?" Ren asked him.

"Haru." He said, looking at her. She seemed a bit shaken. "You okay?" he smiled for her, to uplift her spirt. "Do you want something to eat? Like... Other than coffee?"

"Oy-oy!" Lucifer scoffed, being ignored by the two. He hated being ignored, especially after giving out his name.

 

"I'm here too, you know."

 

He dragged a seat from an empty table, then sat into it with the back of the chair facing his stomach.

 

"So Haru...."

 

So delicious, this boy's scent, that Lucifer was glad he just recently feasted.

 

"Any hobbies?"

He turned to the other boy. "S-sorry... Just helping a girl out here..." He looked at him. "And might I ask why you want to know?"

"Because bore~dom killed the Ju~das. And, greed. Don't forget the gre~ed." he replied in a sing-song voice.

 

"But in seriousness, I'm a beta tester for a company releasing a new game! You should try it with me sometime. We have all kinds of stuff."

 

Lucifer sneaked a peek at the female ghoul. He wasn't even hungry, he just liked the feel of stealing other people's meals.

 

At times like this, he almost felt worthy of the title "Satan" instead.

Libi couldn't help but to feel a bit bad for the human kid at the moment the other ghoul joined the conversation. The two ghouls seemed to want his attention,for lunch that is. She hoped that there wouldn't be a fight for his flesh later on,or maybe they'd share it? Who knows. Libi picked up the tray with Lucifer's coffee and Ren's order as she skated off to the table. "Your coffee and your order."Libi smiled as she handed the coffee to Lucifer and settled a plate of human food in front of Ren. She really didn't want to give Ren the human food. For obvious reasons. But she needed to do her work and act natural,so she'd have to feel guilty about it later. Hopefully Ren has had practice in chewing and puking out the food calmly in public places...or she could just puke and say she was allergic and truthfully Libi would think it'd be a brilliant idea. "(Oh I remember my first time eating human food in public. I think I puked all over my date and had to pretend I was sick so it didn't look that bad!)"Libi thought as she skated and did her work while watching the curious interaction between the human and the ghouls.

Ren pushed the food away from her, looking at Libi.

"I am not hungry at all, why do you think I didn't order food?" She asked.

Ren then looked over to Haru.

"I am okay Haru, I am just very tired. I needed some coffee to wake me up." She said with a smile.

Ren suddently turned dead serious, her eyes turning and glaring at Lucifer. She immidently stepped on his foot with no mercy.

"He is my dinner." She mouthed.

Haru looked at the two. "Do you know each other?" The boy smelled of...blood? That can't be right... He shook his head, and watched thier bickering... Maybe he could figure out what was going on?

Ren looked at Haru, smiling.

"No, we really dont." She said with a smile.

Ren stood up looking at Haru.

"Haru, we are friends now right? You will follow me if I go somewhere else right? If you dont follow me, I will follow you." She said, getting out of thr booth.

"So you will come with my Haru." Ren asked.

"Umm..." He looked at the blood-boy, and the scent-girl. She looked a bit less threatening, and he wanted to make her feel better, so... Why not... The coffee tasted great, but the food tasted... Formulaic. Like someone just got it straight from the cookbook, and put no heart into it. Finishing his coffee, he got up. "See you later, sir..." He said to the boy, and decided to walk out.

 

Watari looked at Thanatos, and noticed her hunger. "Do you need some food?" He said, eyebrow raised. He polished the glass, and looked at the boy. He felt sorry for him, but unfortunately, thats how ghouls feed. Humans to ghouls are like chicken and cows... A sad truth...

Ren started leading Haru far from the café, into the loud city...and started walking down an alley. It was a dead end and Ren had cornered Haru.

"I got lost..." She muttered to herself.

Ren looked at Haru, her eyes shifting.

"I actually am hungry. You look delicious, Haru," she said with a smile.

He looked at her, shock running through his face. "W-what the hell?" He said, looking behind him for a way out... Was she the monster...the ghouls.

Ren pulled her hood off, and then her jacket, folding it and sitting it on the ground. She started walking over to Haru, the burn scars visible. She got uncomforatably close to Haru, immidently sinking her teeth into his shoulder and pulling her head down, ripping his shirt and flesh.

She pulled the piece of skin out of her mouth, discsrding the shirt part she got, and held it up, showing Haru.

"What beautiful skin, you are such a good boy." She said wih a smile, beggining to eat.
