January 22, 201510 yr Author They were saying everything within a work of fiction doesn't have to work. Only problem is most of the KH heroes' actions have ultimately backfired and/or benefited the villains. And the futile Armor was just a cherry on a lazy-writing sundae. And here's how the Armor should've worked in the battle: by sometimes paralyzing the Nightmare to help Riku the same way Terra sometimes paralyzed Terranort to help Aqua. You know, to make it more than just a makeshift costume for a bad guy and another shot to a good guy's credibility. Edited January 22, 201510 yr by Alan Smithee

You know, to make it more than just a makeshift costume for a bad guy and another shot to a good guy's credibility. Most of the KH villain's actions have ultimately backfired and/or benefited the heroes. It's actually one of my favourite things about KH in terms of writing. It's full of prophecies and legends and stuff, and in most stories that would be the absolute truth, or there'd be a twist that uproots it, but with KH we have incomplete theories, trail and error. Xehanort tried making Kingdom Hearts three times, and each time he was going about it the wrong way. Now it's heavily implied that he's making the same mistake with the XIII darknesses I don't really get how the armour would work in that context. There could be a potentially cool visual where the armour comes in an sort of seals the final boss, letting you get some hits in or something, but in the contex of the story that doesn't really make a whole lot of functional sense. As for the "shot at a good guy's credibility" ...what? Seems like it made Ventus more credible, showing him be proactive in trying to help Sora. If you're talking about Sora's credibility, he hasn't been important to the series since 2004
