I decided I might as well make a thread for discussing this game and reporting on news, since I get a feeling we'll be getting a lot of that soon.

For those who don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is the first game to be exclusive to Nintendo's New 3DS, and as anyone who's played the Wii version can confirm, will be a game that really needs the hardware boost the new iteration is receiving. It's a port/remake of Xenoblade Chronicles (Or simply Xenoblade in Japan) for the Wii, with a couple new features added.

Speaking of those new features, it's been confirmed that the game will be compatible with the Shulk amiibo! Using the Shulk amiibo with Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will give the player tokens that can be spent to unlock new character models and music tracks in the model viewer and music player features (Both of which are new to the New 3DS version). These tokens can also be unlocked through Streetpass for those who don't have the Shulk amiibo, which explains the Streetpass feature mentioned shortly after the game's North American and European announcement. The game has also received an official North American release date of April 10, while Europe has already had a release date set for April 2.

Is anyone else going to journey to the Bionis again, or possibly for their first time?

I saw all the posts in here and thought someone beat me to the news... A new Iwata Asks interview with Takahashi (The writer for Xenoblade) has been conducted on the subject of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D! I'll post a link to the full interview, since it's too long to post in here, and broken up into parts on Nintendo's website. NintendoLife also summed up a few of the more interesting parts, regarding Takahashi's inspirations for game development and his original aspirations for Xenoblade's balance of story and gameplay. I'll include that as well! (I still haven't even read the full interview yet, but I can't wait to do so!) Full interview: http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/3ds/xenoblade-chronicles-3d/0/0 NintendoLife summary/Source: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/03/a_new_iwata_asks_on_xenoblade_chronicles_3d_recently_went_up   Oh heck yes, the mythos in the game is so good. I need to go look into it some more, and work on the sidequests. There's so much to do in this game. I know that NeverBetter kinda beat me to this, but yes, I definitely recommend getting this game. You shouldn't have too much trouble as long as you update your equipment/gems and do some sidequests along the way. It's a fantastic game, and the fact that it's coming to the New 3DS now means that a lot more RPG fans can have the chance to try this game. I'd recommend it above all other 3DS games, judging from how good the Wii version was.

Dude, the mythos is sooo cool. One of the side quests makes me question some things about areas like(spoiler) Valak Mountain's existance(spoiler end), it's so good.

I remember you telling me about that one. When I get back to my NG+ playthrough, I plan on doing all of the sidequests. This is going to be fun.

After work in going to go pre order this game :) I lovd Xenosaga and this game is made by the same people right?

This made me even more excited to get the game this summer! I'm disappointed that they spoiled a major plot point, though... :/

Yeah it's really weird. I'm wondering why they couldn't just advertise the game without spoiling certain parts.

It sure is! Monolith Soft are now a first-party developer for Nintendo is all :)

Yep! Monolith actually started out as a group of developers at Square who left after they weren't allowed to continue the Xenogears trilogy. They made Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos with Namco's support, then Nintendo bought them and they began the Xenoblade series!

Yeah, it really wouldn't be that tough. I mean, they've avoided spoiling

Fiora's "death"

In other trailers so far. No clue why they didn't this time. At least the other parts that could be considered spoilers are shown briefly, so the people who haven't played the game won't know what's going on.

Alright, no problem! Glad to know you're interested! Just keep in mind it's only playable on the New 3DS and New 3DS XL, thanks to the improved hardware.

Nintendo just released a few videos showing live performances of a few of the tracks on the Xenoblade 3D soundtrack! They're a little different from the versions used in-game, but if you're a fan of the game's music at all, you should definitely check these out! Be warned that the videos do show some game footage, and some of what is shown could be considered as spoilers. If you don't mind this, or if you're one of us who played the game already on the Wii, then I definitely recommend watching these!

Also, just a reminder for everyone: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D releases this Thursday in Japan and Europe, and next Friday in North America. There's not much more time left until this game is finally playable on a portable system! I hope everyone who's getting the game day one enjoys it! I'll be joining you all over summer.

You see, I am the real Shulk since that was my old username. Therefore, if I say it is Shulk Time, then Shulk says it's Shulk Time.

But see, you are no longer Shulk. I am still Reyn, and since i have the Shulk icon and am representing a Xenoblade character, i can safely say that it is always Reyn Time.

You can only be one Xenoblade character at a time. You can be a Xenoblade and Xenoblade X character, but since Shulk and Reyn are both from Xenoblade, you can only be one of the two. So, which will it be?

I will be temporarily Shulk. And now i say, "REYN, IT'S YOUR TIME!" So there.

7 more days to go guys till we can get our hands on this beautiful game! I also picked up Super Smash Bros 3DS and my main is none other than Shulk!

Oh, speaking of this game... Totally forgot about this:

During the Direct, a new trailer was released for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D! Along with the trailer, it's also been confirmed that not one, but two Xenoblade 3DS Home Themes are coming to North America (And I'd assume Europe and Japan as well)! The one that was shown a while back has Gaur Plain as the background music (Which was misspelled as "Guar Plain" in the trailer...), while the other one features the art shown on the cover of the game, and has the game's Main Theme as the background music! They'll both be released April 9 in North America. Sorry I can't give any specific news for Europe. :/

Warning: The trailer shows a few scenes that could be considered as spoilers.

Now I'm sure I'll sound like a complete noob for asking this but when you grow levels do your stats go up?

Yes. Equipment is also important for raising your stats. Stat raises pretty much work the same way that they do in most JRPGs. You'll also gain experience you can spend on increasing the levels of your character's Arts (Special techniques that have various effects), so those can keep up to date with your own increased stats and levels. Managing equipment, skills, and your Arts should keep you in good shape.

Oh good! I like JRPGs that have the basic leveling system. Now Akame buddy what level is recommended to beat XenoBlade?

You'll probably hit the mid 70's or 80 by the time you get to the final battle. I want to say I was level 82 when I finished. The game is pretty long, so you won't need to worry about grinding too often. Just do a few sidequests as you go along and you should be fine in terms of levels!
