Gloom (1x1 with Stardustblade)

Posted

The land was dark and desolate; a barren field with the only evidence of humanity being the rubble and debris of buildings as far as the eye can see. That was all the world was now; just shattered remnants of what once was. Humanity destroyed itself. It all started with the Gloom; it changed humans and made them evil and attack one another. First came the panic. Then the riots. After that the wars broke out and the anarchy until most of the humans were wiped from existence along with everything else which was blown to bits. Now, there's only few humans left who are struggling to survive.

A young boy of age five with markings of bones on his body and a sugar skull on his face was searching through the ruins of what once was a two story building. The Gloomified wildlife was too busy trying to kill another poor soul so the boy had time time to search for supplies. He needed some kind of medication for a dying man he called his father. With nothing but tattered pants and a satchel the boy was on his knees searching through the rubble for some kind of item he could give to his father so he could feel better.

"Por favor..." The boy sniffled, wiping away thick tears that ran down his face as he searched. The tears dampened the ends of his scruffy brown colored hair.

"Por favor... Por favor... Mi Papa..."

Grim nodded and looked at Miguel reassuringly. Even though he kept his hopes up, he had no idea how the kids would react either. "Come on. Now or never." Grim said, walking over to where the kids were. "Hey we're back!" Grim said cheerfully. Ash looked up from her seat and hurried over. "About time!" Ash yelled, wrapping her arms around Grim's legs before turning to Miguel. "Miguel!" She cheered, running over to him, hugging him. "I'm glad you're back." She hummed. "You aren't angry." "No?" Ash looked at Miguel. "I don't know the past Miguel. I never met him. But even if he did bad things the Miguel I know has never done anything bad, so why would I be mad?"

The girl sighed, looking over rather over dramatically. "How tragic! To think I would die here unless I bid with your demands! Okay then, I shall play along." The girl recited as she turned again to face him. "My name is Wendy. I sneaked into the city through one of the gates while hiding inside a merchandise box. "I'm tiny so you can guess that it was easy. But I've been watching and I couldn't help but to share my opinion!" Wendy admitted as she got her hand over her chest. "I lost my twin Peter to the gloom. He died a miserable death while I lived on. Of course I would agree with your thoughts. I may be alive but it doesn't give me any peace that the gloom is USING me as a host...I would rather much die in creating a cure than walking on while being a thing that isn't neither born with it or human."

Miguel saw the children, expecting the worse. But as soon as he saw Ash's happy little face and heard her words Miguel felt much better. He was still however, nervous about Nicholas. "..."

Nicholas approached Miguel and Grim tiredly. He looked like he didn't get any sort of rest at all. All he did was just look down and hugged Grim's leg.

"You were gone so long..." He uttered.

Miguel looked down to Nicholas in worry. "Are you mad?" He asked.

Nicholas looked up and slowly shook his head.

"No..." He uttered.

Stiles frowned softly and looked towards the window. "I think we all need rest after this stressful day..."

Meanwhile Columbus was very aggravated with Wendy's sass. He did have to admit however that he was very interested with what she had to say. Using the Gloom hosts to find a cure...

"I will admit I do appreciate your opinion..." He said in thought. Columbus put his pistol away. "But surely no one else will agree. No Gloom infected will want to be killed in order to make a cure they think will never exist... Some of them don't want a cure to exist either."

Grim clapped his hands together. “That sounds like a wonderful idea! We can just hang around.” Grim said. However there was something to discuss. He turned to Stiles. “Actually…we have to tell you something.” Grim began. “We talked with Cupid, Jack and even Krampus after the trial…I really think it’s time that we return to that farm we decided to call home.” Grim explained. Ash gasped. “We’re going back to the farm?!” She asked, smiling at the thought of seeing the baby animals again. “Yes. After the whole trial, we just think it’s the best time to make that move over. When there’s no bad blood between us and the rest of the city and all…Jack and Cupid want to come along too. Krampus as well. He said that he wanted to help us make adjustments to the farm and help build. They want to make a small home with us.” Grim explained while smiling at Stiles. “As dependable as the city is…I really think it wouldn’t be so bad to start living outside a pair of walls.” Grim hummed.

Wendy played with her hair. “You’re right. No one in the right mind would go ahead and sacrifice themselves voluntarily. But then again, how many out of humanity exist with the ability to withstand the gloom? Only a few children that have been born within this generation have been born to be able to withstand the gloom. What would the rest do? Try to survive and die if they get infected? What about the young adults and future generations? Will they forever be hiding behind a wall in hopes that the gloom would never reach them? If a cure is never found, there will always be a risk that the gloom will eventually eliminate humanity, and then what will be left? Nothing. Nothing but gloom. All of the work and effort to survive…would be absolutely meaningless in the end. Even the bandit groups are struggling! Slowly their members are succumbing. Their merchandise are getting infected and turning mad. What will it take for the same to happen within these walls?” Wendy spoke, her voice calm as she frowned. “It will be the beginning of hell all over again. One will get infected and pass to the other and then other and then other…before you know it everyone is dead. The people surely have to understand. The majority must understand that unless something is done, the next generation will never grow up to become the next generation of humanity. We must convince them.”

Miguel couldn't be more happier at Grim's words. Finally they would get the hell out of there and go somewhere else away from all of that. Especially Columbus. Miguel wanted to be ten thousand miles away from Columbus. If he ever encountered the man again Miguel would blow a gasket.

"Sí~! And we'll all live happily ever after!" He joked. "Or... At least happy."

Stiles was pleased with the idea as well. Originally he was planning on staying, however after spending time thinking about it, Stiles knew that the City was doing fine on its own. They had plenty of doctors and the outside world needed much more.

"That is a great idea." Stiles said with his German accent. "I will try to establish possible trade communications with this place and our home. That way if I ever needed supplies I could come back and make a quick visit to pick up materials in exchange for what we don't need. Don't worry though it'll be a rare occurrence."

Nicholas meanwhile, wasn't too trilled over the fact that Krampus and the others was coming along. Sure, he liked Krampus and whatnot, but Nicholas was just tired of having so many people around.

"Okay..." Nicholas uttered softly, going up to hug Grim's leg. "Can we leave now?"

Stiles sighed softly as he looked down at Nicholas. "Ahh... In my opinion I think we should just leave early in the afternoon tomorrow... We need rest and some time to prepare for our journey. I imagine Krampus and the others have to speak to Mother Nature as well as Father Time to inform them."

Meanwhile Columbus listened to Wendy intently. He had to admit, he was liking this girl more and more every second.

"The problem is that the fools here don't understand that... They will never understand that. No matter what I say to them, it'll go through one ear and out the other." Columbus hummed in thought, and grinned. "But... I could perhaps find a group of people here who share this same idea... We could take the Gloom infected filth by force and conduct research without anyone knowing. There are a few doctors and workers here who are very racist towards the infected. They will certainly join me. I won't even mention this idea to Father Time or Mother Nature. After all... If you want something done right you have to do it yourself."

Grim rubbed Nicholas' hair gently. "Tomorrow morning. We have to make sure we get everything we need before leaving. We'll leave the city first thing at sunrise and arrive at the farm by noon, hopefully. Then you can play with all of the animals and nap in the hay with them. You won't have to worry about this place again, alright?" Grim cooed. Going back to the farm would do wonders for little Nicholas. "We'll all get ready. Heck, we still have some materials that Jack gave us back at our room. He'll help us plant some crops from what he learned from Nature." Grim insisted. He heard Ash complain. "But that would mean veggies!" She whined. "Healthy veggies!" Grim persisted, much to Ash's dismay. He turned to Miguel. "Speaking of which we should get them and bring them here. We can all camp out here for the night and leave first thing in the morning." Grim said.

Wendy smiled. "Now you're thinking like a survivor. Who knows, maybe in the end of this you will find a cure. And it would all be thanks to you, the man who figured out that the infected were the nessesary sacrifice for the cure. Your name would be remembered throughout history, recorded in history books. Ah the possibilities." Wendy hummed, following close. "When you are ready I can help lure them in. Anyone you have in mind that would make a perfect first subject? Besides me."

Nicholas nodded and smiled softly as he felt Grim's fingers in his hair. Finally they were going to leave this place. Nicholas utterly hated it. They could go back... And Nicholas could just spend his time with Ash and the animals. He would never have to worry about other people again.

"Nap... With the animals..." Nicholas whispered softly. It sounded utterly great. The chickens... The piggies... The little calves, lambs and maybe even rabbits. He loved the rabbits and the lambs. The sound of vegetables wasn't too bad either.

Miguel nodded in agreement to Grim's plan. Honestly he didn't even feel like traveling anywhere after what happened today. He didn't even feel like leaving the room, truthfully.

"Ahh, fine." Miguel whined. "I'll go tell Cupido and everyone to come here."

Stiles chuckled softly at Nicholas' reaction. Honestly he never even saw Nicholas smile. To see it made him relieved. Maybe it was best for everyone to leave for the farm.

"Actually it is okay, Miguel." Stiles said with another chuckle in response to Miguel's complaining. "I'll go get everyone and bring them here to rest. You all should get some sleep now. It was a long day today and it will be a long day tomorrow."

Meanwhile Columbus grinned as he heard Wendy's words. He would be known... Soon everyone will realize that he held the key to saving everyone. Columbus could even picture himself in those books, children being taught lessons about one of the greatest man in history along with other important figures. All he had to do was to take initiative and not let anyone get in his way.

"I have a lot of people in mind..." Columbus began, hand to his chin. "I really want that wretched Spick and his brother... Krampus too. But sadly Mother Nature and Father Time will definitely notice their disappearance. We'll have to pick someone else... Someone that isn't well known in the community. We might have to find someone outside the walls..."

Grim paused and thought about it for a bit. "Well sleeping does sound pretty good. We did get up earlier than the usual today." Grim said, Ash hurrying over to Miguel and Grim and pulling on their hands. "Nap with me! You guys are warm! Stiles is cold!" Ash huffed, throwing her arms around Grim as she had him pick her up. "Surely he wasn't that cold." Grim cooed while laughing. This was nice. Moments like these were nice. A small family made out of broken pieces to make a big whole. It felt wonderful. "Alright! Miguel and I will have to give you both lots of hugs in order to keep you warm then!" Grim said as he sat down on the nearest mattress. "Come on Miguel, Nicholas, join us!" Grim hummed. "Join us!" Ash repeated, before the two began to chant on about it. "One of us~ ONE OF US~ ONE OF US~"

Wendy listened and gave a nod. "From what I heard those you have mentioned do plan to leave the city. Until they do, we have time to gather people that will join in with the cause. Plus time to prepare the place where they shall be kept and used in order to save humanity." Wendy hummed. As macabre as it sounded it was all simply a matter of what was at stake and what was most likely to happen or not. The morals at stake, and so on.

  • Author

Miguel grinned and was actually about to pick up Ash before Grim beat him to it. They didn't even have to chant a single second before Miguel went to the mattress. He was exhausted and wanted to go to sleep right away.

"Alrighty~" Miguel chimed, letting his heavy body fall right into the bed next to Grim and Ash. "I'll make you nice and toasty warm~! Stiles is weird anyway~ maybe he is a vampire oh no!" With that, Miguel took Ash and held her close.

Nicholas meanwhile sighed softly and looked down. After a few moments he eased himself over to the mattress and laid down next to Grim and Ash only.

"Okay..." He uttered softly. "It's nice and comfy..."

Stiles couldn't help but chuckle at the scene. "Oh ya. I'm very cold." He said sarcastically, shaking his head with a smile. "I guess I should try to make myself more warm by running around finding everyone to bring them here. I'll be back before you know it." With that, Stiles left.

Meanwhile Columbus hummed in thought. Wendy was right. Krampus and the others were going to leave tomorrow.

"I already have a few people in mind..." Columbus said, taking out a small notepad and writing down a small list. "I'll gather them all. There is also a good abandoned building near the edge of the city. They won't want to leave the gates however, so we may have to stick to capturing the infected who keep to themselves... Luckily I know of a few who haven't even reported their infection. They pay me money so I won't tell Mother Nature or Father Time about it. If they dissapeared no one would notice."

Grim turned, gently rubbing Nicholas’ head. “Let’s get some rest now…” Grim cooed, kissing Nicholas’ head before closing his eyes, falling asleep with his little family.

Krampus stood with his hands in his pockets as he talked with Mother Nature and Father Time. He explained everything, about them wanting to move to the farm outside the walls, and start to create a life there. “Ah, how brave of all of you.” Father Time chuckled. “It won’t be easy, but I’m sure you all will be able to handle yourself.” “I really don’t want to see you guys go. It’s dangerous out there but…I think this is a wonderful opportunity. Humanity can’t simply remain constricted to walls forever.” Mother Nature smiled as she nodded. “I thank you for your permission.” Krampus said as he smiled a bit.

Cupid pulled a small cart of supplies with him. It included seeds that they could plant for crops, building tools such as hammers and axes, and little stuff here and there that they could use on the farm. Jack couldn’t find a horse…but he did found two donkeys that they could spare. “You know I think a horse would have been nice but considering that these donkeys are kind of cute I think we can have a deal.” Jack said as he stared down at the two donkeys that stared at his soul indifferently.

Wendy gave a soft nod as she walked along with Columbus. “Then let’s start building this up then.” She said as she followed. “Let the games begin.”

There was a gentle knock at the doorframe of the door that was already open. Stiles poked his head in with a smile.

"Ahh, hello Vatti Time. Mutti Nature." Stiles chimed, looking to Krampus. "I hope this isn't a bad time... You see I am here to take you back to where Grim, Miguel and I are sleeping to prepare for tomorrow. I can come back later if now isn't the right time."

Meanwhile Columbus couldn't help but grin as he walked along with Wendy. This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. "Yes... The games shall begin." Already he was thinking of what to do. Luckily a few of the doctors he knew very much disliked all of the infected, even those who were born infected. They would certainly be the best allies to have.

Krampus smiled along with the other two. “You are never at a bad time my dear.” Mother Nature assured, looking over to Krampus. “Krampus was just telling us about your departure. You’re all brave to want to live outside the city. We wish you all of our luck. You are all welcomed back at any time.” Father Time said with a soft smile. “We wish you the best of luck, truly! Maybe this will inspire some other people to spread out and try to live outside the walls too.” Mother Nature shared. Sure, within a city that was always watched over and organized things were alright. But if the population were to grow even bigger than what they were now, then they would have no choice but to go on beyond. Even a city like this one could only support so many people at once. “Right, take me over there. I already settled what I had to here.”

Cupid and Jack ended up meeting just outside the apartment building, the two staring at each other with unimpressed expressions. "That is a lot to carry, you know." Jack hummed. "We're going to need it all. But really? Donkeys?" Cupid scoffed. "They'll work and they were the only ones available. Besides they should be less stubborn than a horse...I think." Jack said, Cupid smiling a bit. "Well they are pretty cute. Guess you're going to have them sleep in the lobby for the night?" Cupid asked. "Aw crap I didn't even think of that." Jack groaned, the two laughing afterwards.

Stiles smiled and went into shake Mother Nature and Father Time's hands. Honestly it was because of them why Stiles would like to stay. But he knew his place was outside the walls.

"It's been a pleasure working with you and getting to know you both." Stiles commented. "I will definitely return for a visit... I'd like to establish trade relations to trade with you in the future." He said his goodbyes, as looked to Krampus. "It's time to get going Ja?"

As they were heading back to where they were to sleep, Stiles noticed Jack and Cupid from the window of the building. Stiles couldn't help but chuckle as he looked down to see the donkeys. "Look at what they got." Stiles said to Krampus. Stiles then opened up the window and poked his head out.

"Be careful not to touch their behind!" Stiles shouted to them with a chuckle. "I cannot repair damaged teeth if they kick you!"

Jack and Cupid looked up and waved. "Wait, donkeys kick? I thought that was a horse thing." Jack pondered. Cupid didn't give him a chance as he quickly slapped one of the donkeys and moved out of the way, watching as it kicked Jack straight on the butt, sending him flying forward. Cupid laughed, giving Stiles and Krampus thumbs up. Krampus shook his head. "The fact that they've survived in this world so long still surprises me." Krampus admitted as he watched the two proceed to bicker like siblings. "Right. Let's get back there and get ready. We have a long day tomorrow first thing in the morning. Hopefully the little ones will be able to sleep the trip away or something." Krampus said. The city was nice, but it was beyond from perfect. Nothing could ever replace the humanity that once was. The most they could do was to create one of their own.

  • Author

Stiles warned Cupid and Jack in mild interest. However as soon as Cupid slapped the donkey and Jack got kicked, Stiles put his hand on his face. Honestly he began to wonder how they survived as well.

"Dumkoft... He could have seriously injured Jack." Stiles said with a huff, looking to Krampus.

"Ja. We are going to need all the rest and energy we can get for tomorrow... But I believe the children will be sleeping anyway. After all they hate waking up early." Stiles said with a chuckle. He began to walk with Krampus again to the apartment room. "You will enjoy the barn. It is very comfortable and it's in a very remote area... It's where I first met Grim and his brother, actually."

"Oh? So there it was where you met. You all seem pretty close, I'm surprised you haven't been together for a longer time." Krampus spoke. They eventually reached the apartment and walked inside, seeing the four soundly asleep on the mattress. "Ah they're so cute." Krampus smiled. "Moments like this allow them to forget about the bad of the world and enjoy the good. I'm glad you helped them here, Stiles. They're good kids. Sure Miguel is as stubborn as his mom used to be, but he's good overall."Krampus chuckled. He took a seat, being quiet to not wake them up. "They've come a long way. Lets hope we can see them heal the world."

(We can move onto the next day if you like.)

(Alright next post)

Stiles chuckled softly at Krampus' words once they reached the room. He wasn't used to such compliments, but it did make him happy and flattered nonetheless. He pulled up a small couch and bed near where Grim and the others were sleeping. He began to fix the bed for Krampus to sleep in then the couch for himself.

"It's surprising to me as well... We've known each other for limited time but we're as close as a family." He smiled and looked to the kids. "I know they're good. Very good. Together... They're going to change the world. They're going to definitely heal it. Oh-" he looked to Krampus. "I've been meaning to ask, what is Miguel's parents like if you don't mind me asking? Were you their close friends?"

Krampus thought for a moment. "We were all childhood friends. Miguel's dad and I were neighbors when kids and went to the same schools. We met Miguel's mom in middle school. We were inseparable ever since. After High School the two of them ended up falling in love and getting married years later, having a boy right before Miguel. She then became pregnant with Miguel...and then the Gloom happened." Krampus explained as he glanced at Miguel. "Has dad was a kind man. He always was willing to help others and was a skilled craftsman. He was as tough as a bull though! His mother was kind and sweet and beautiful, yet feisty. Once she was made her choice there was nothing or no one that could change her mind. Miguel reminds me a lot of her." Krampus smiled. His face then turned somewhat sad. "They were wonderful people who deserved much better. When the Gloom happened the panic of it all, the military trying to separate people, it was all hectic. The last time we saw each other they told me they had decided to go along with a group of survivors. I took my own route in hopes of finding my own family. I never saw them again since." Krampus crossed his arms. "According to Miguel his older brother got infected, and in the madness he killed his mother before taking his own life. Jorge died of sickness other than gloom...ah but I prefer to remember them how I last saw them. All one big family."

  • Author

Stiles listened intently as he payed attention to Krampus' story. It was very tragic to him how such a bright and happy life could then into something so... Sad. It pained him to hear such words, but then again such tragedy was common.

"I'm very sorry to hear that..." Stiles said with a frown. He looked to the window. "As for myself... I was young when the Gloom happened. Luckily in my home of Germany we were able to contain the Gloom for a few years longer than anyone else. My father was a decorated service man and I decided to become a medic as well as a doctor. A few years after, I met a woman and... I got her pregnant. Having a child at only twenty years old is a very hard endeavor. My now wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who I named Lena. The government fell after that, and I was sent here with a few scientists to try and find a cure. Before we left, my wife passed away due to illness... And I came here with my daughter. It was here that I raised her along with Grim's parents. I deeply respected them. Grim's father taught me vast knowledge in medicine and science while Grim's mother assisted me in raising my daughter. Sadly, there was a breach and everything fell to chaos. I escaped with my daughter but she got infected... I had to... Give her peace. Ever since then I have been traveling on my own, assisting other survivors and surviving myself until I met Grim and his brother."

Krampus listened intently, nodding here and there. “I’m sorry about your daughter.” Krampus hummed, thinking about the whole thing before smiling slightly. “You know. I find it rather curious. You met Grim’s parents, and then you met Grim. I knew Miguel’s parents and I ended up meeting him before I even knew of his existence. If anything I’d say that this was all part of some destiny or some bullsh*t.” Krampus laughed a bit, resting his head back. “It just seems like luck…but I really want to believe that maybe it was all planned out by some greater force.” He shrugged his shoulders, resting back. “It’s…all both good and bad.” Then some footsteps on the hallway, before the door opened up to reveal Cupid and Jack. “WE-“ Cupid began, but Jack quickly hut him up, pointing at the sleeping group. “oh!” Cupid gasped, Jack rolling his eyes before closing the door behind them. Cupid hurried to the two adults, sitting down next to Krampus happily. “We’re all ready to go for the morning.” Cupid said. “Good.” Krampus smiled. Jack sat down on the other side, glancing over at the sleeping group. He couldn’t help but to glanced over at Grim for a few minutes before smiling. “I haven’t seen him sleep that well in a while. I’m glad we found Miguel.”

Stiles chuckled as he listened to Krampus words. Could have it been destiny? It was something Stiles never really thought about.

"Well..." He began, taking a moment to think. "I would say maybe it's the Universe laughing at us. Who knows. I like to believe things... Happen the way they should. After all, we could have just have easily ended up somewhere else correct? If I ignored the sounds of wolves growling nearby my camp, I would have never encountered Grim and the others. I almost ignored it too." He was cut off by Jack and Cupid coming in, nodding to them after the announced the fact that they were ready to go. Stiles began to fix up a bed for them.

"Now we all must go to sleep." Stiles said with a smile. "We have a long day ahead of us... Destiny or not."

"Right. That sounds like a wonderful idea." Krampus hummed, laying down on the mattress that Stiles had prepared for him. Cupid tugged on Jack's hoodie and dragged him over to where Stiles had fixed their bed. "Thank you Stiles!" Cupid chimed happily. Jack rubbed his head and sat down on the bed, laying down before Cupid laid down next to him, quite rapidly falling asleep while throwing his arms across the bed. Jack slept with his legs crossed to the side of the bed, his arms hugging himself. Krampus smiled at the scene. It was indeed a very happy situation. A happy family made out of many broken ones. "Good night, everyone." Krampus cooed before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

-NEXT DAY-

Krampus woke up the moment the sun began to rise. He didn't even struggle to jump onto his feet and straighten himself up. Today would be a long day. He walked over to Cupid and Jack, nudging them with his feet. "Wake up." He hummed before walking over to the window and opening the curtains, the sunlight illuminating the room. Cupid whined and turned around while Jack gave a hiss. Grim only held Nicholas even closer. "Mm...five more minutes...I don't want to collect branches today..."

  • Author

Stiles was up almost instantaneously. He had to admit he felt somewhat strange to have someone wake up earlier than him, even if it was only a few minutes before. He was just used to being the first one up all the time.

"Ahh... Today is the day. There is a long journey ahead of us." Stiles commented, getting off of his little cot and going to gather all of the supplies he prepared the night before immediately.

Miguel meanwhile only pulled up the blankets even more so over himself. He also hugged Ash tighter as if she was a teddy bear.

"Mgh... Go eat gato mierda..." He grumbled in his sleep. Nicholas only whined, digging his face into Grim's chest.

Krampus kicked Cupid slightly. “Wake up boys. Rise and shine.” Krampus hummed. Jack groaned and sat up, rubbing his head as he tapped at Cupid. “Hey, wake up. We have to go get the donkeys ready.” Jack said, his words slurred as he tried to fully wake up. Cupid sat up almost instantly. “The donkeys, right!” Cupid began to try to stand up, but ended up tripping on his feet and landing face first right into Grim, which caused him to wake up with a start, holding Nicholas in his arms. “NO DAD NOT THE LEECHES.” Grim gasped, and then Ash woke up. “LEECHES?!” Ash gasped as she climbed right over Miguel, away from any leeches. Krampus facepalmed. “Ay ay ay.”

  • Author

Nicholas made a tiny yelp in fear, waking up instantly and shaking in Grim's arms. He began to sniffle and cry, rubbing his eyes.

"W-What?" He squeaked, shivering in Grim's gasp. "N-No..."

Miguel would've just slept through it all if it wasn't for Ash going to climb right over him. He woke up with a start of his own, sitting up and taking Ash into his arms.

"L-Leeches-" Miguel gasped. He looked around to find no leeches anywhere. "Agh, go back to sleep..."

Stiles sighed softly and rubble the back of his head. Why couldn't this be a pleasant morning?

"Cupid, I believe you startled everyone..." Sties commented with a sigh.

Cupid didn't even hear Stiles, snoring once more. That is, until Jack kicked him hard enough to wake up. "GAH! I'm awake!" Cupid gasped, quickly standing up on his feet. Grim rubbed his eyes gently, and lowly remembered what today was, finally waking up fully. "Today's the big day." Grim hummed, turning to Miguel as he shook him gently. "Come on, Miguel. Wake up. Today we head back to the farm." Grim reminded him. A half-awake Ash gasped in excitement. "The farm!" She squealed. “Yup. Come on now, the early bird gets the worm.” Krampus chimed. For a moment Ash stared confused. “Why would we want to catch worms?” She murmured. Jack stood up, helping Cupid onto his feet. “We’ll meet you guys downstairs. We’re going to get the donkeys and the cart ready.” Jack announced, dragging Cupid by the arm to help him get out of his half-awake state. Grim stood up, stretching slightly as he held Nicholas in his arms. “Don’t worry Nicholas, I’ll carry you if you’re still sleepy.” Grim cooed. Ash began to wake up Miguel in the meanwhile. “Wake up! Wake up! We’re going to see the piggies again!” Ash insisted, shaking Miguel around.
