Guardian Xehanort's Keyblade?

Posted

I was randomly watching my footage of the final boss of the Final Story in Birth by Sleep, and I noticed something

I usually agreed with people about Guardian being some sort of Terra, but I noticed that after Xehanort summons Guardian, he completely loses the ability to use his keyblade. He still uses his keyblade in the battle, but when he does, Guardian disappears.

Additionally, when either Terra or Xehanort uses the keyblade to try to banish the other, the blade disappears, and shortly after Guardian crumbles into darkness

The reason I bring this up now is that one of the new cutscenes in the Re:Coded movie includes a little tidbit that claims that Xehanort's keyblade is the most ancient. Given that his keyblade will be significant to the plot going forward, this could also give Guardian some currently unknown significance. Darkside could be the manifestation of some sort of being the drives Xehanort, or could have some connection tot he Heartless, or the keyblade war, ro who knows what else.

It seems weird, Guardian is never really given the spotlight. It's just kinda there. Despite that, there are a lot of possibilities fans love to discuss about it.

So yeah

Guardian

My theory used to be that The Guardian is the true form of Xehanort's Heartless, while Ansem SoD is actually Terra's. But seeing as how Terra is enslaved by Ansem, the reverse actually makes sense. And now with this I don't know what to think.

Maybe the Gaurdian is the spirit of the sixth apprentice infused with MX's Keyblade.

I was inclined to think that eraqus, or Terra was a part of the guardian, he has to have something to do with either of them since the guardian was shown reaching out for Riku's keyblade(or maybe just Riku) in DDD.

why would Eraqus have enough darkness to make something like Guardian

why would Eraqus have enough darkness to make something like Guardian

it wouldn't be off the table, it's like asking a priest to be completely devoid of sin...and we know how that usually turns out. But seriously, just because he hates the darkness doesn't stop him from having it, and unlike sora and how we know he has little darkness due to the fact that he is a lovable goofball, eraqus is a whole other subject due to the fact that he has little exposition and that for all we know, his hatred of darkness stems from personal struggles. Xehanort accepts the darkness as an eternal side of the other coin, while yen Sid does not ever show disdain for the darkness, so I doubt it's some jedi ironclad rule saying "you must hate this because we said so". Essentially eraqus could have struggled with his own darkness at one point and like a priest or jedi, he chose to repress it instead of accept it as a part of himself, which could be a reason why he would see Terra as a son, seeing as he reminds him of himself. But that's just a random way in which he could have the necessary darkness, God knows he needs more exposition than "darkness is bad, you dark? I kill, unless you're old like me then you're fine...damn young people"
