So I've heard some mixed receptions from Resident Evil 4 (though from a lot I heard that's it's pretty good in terms of action, but is pretty decent in terms of survival horror). SI I ask this to those who have Resident Evil 4. How good is the game to you and do you recommend that I buy it as well? I've recently been trying to get myself into the Resident Evil series since I've finished Resident Evil HD Remaster (which is definitely one of the greatest RE games I've ever played) and I want to see how RE4 hold up in the series.

BUY IT NOW. Probably the best Resident Evil. It has nothing to do with zombies but instead with some other virus that makes zombie-esque villager people of which are incredibly terrifying. o_o It's a pretty good survival horror, and quite tricky sometimes as well! I'd definitely recommend it. Played it myself a couple of times.

It's pretty good. I'd recommend it highly. One of my favorite games for sure and it's definitely worth a purchase.

Resident Evil 4 is a third person style Resident Evil game filled with wicked, and quite horrifying areas and events that will push you to your limits. You'll be playing as Leon S. Kennedy while meeting a few familiar and new faces. While ammo isn't scarce, the game still feels like survival as you will search every box, barrel and room for ammo and herbs.

The game is pretty difficult like RE1, even on Normal which is the only default difficulty option you can choose in the beginning. All enemies deal plenty of damage, especially bosses no doubt (Regular enemy damage = 3-4 hits to kill you, however enemies strike pretty slow). There are plenty of weapons in the game where you can find either by searching areas or purchasing them through an interesting store you'd access sometime in the game.

You start off with a regular handgun like always. The inventory system is a bit different. It's like KH: 358/2 Days where you have these slots on the left hand side of the screen and you have to configure with your inventory screen at times to make things fit. The inventory is basically a suitcase with a certain amount of slots filled inside which you can upgrade a few times throughout story through the store to make the suitcase bigger in terms of slots. The items you find however won't show as tiny panels. Instead, the items are shown exactly as they are. Example: You find a sniper rifle, and it goes to your inventory. The sniper rifle shows up as the same size as an actual sniper rifle so you have to think of a way to insert the weapon while making other items fit (herbs, grenades, other weapons).

You can kill enemies with an infinite knife, flash/incendiary/explosive grenades, firearms, flammables, etc. Many ways to kill, many ways to die. There will also be plenty of interesting Quick Time Events so be prepared to press buttons at certain times. You work with a few characters in the game but mostly, you'll be on your own. This isn't like RE5 or RE6 where you will always have a co-op partner. In fact, the character you'll mostly be with is a character who doesn't use weapons or does anything but take damage. It's an escort mission really, so you have to find ways to protect this character at all costs. This character has a shorter health bar than you.

The game is pretty damn fun. While there are parts in the game where you probably won't want to do because they are actually quite nerve-wracking, the game is filled with all sorts of fun. The areas are very creepy and are filled with a sinister yet vacant feel to them. There's this sewer level that I find the most creepiest area in the game. There's also a hospital, village, castles and more. Trust me, I think this RE is the best out of them all, next to Revelations 2. While Revelations 2 was mostly just creepy in general throughout, this game will make you feel more nervous and helpless because of the difficulty and the unawareness of the enemies around you. There will be parts unlike Rev 2 that might gives you the chilling creeps so... hope you're into that lol.

I give this Resident Evil 10/10. While the voice acting feels like RE1, the combat is pretty fun despite the not be able to walk while shooting and the mild stiffness when shooting. The characters are memorable and most enemies are unforgettable. Most of the music is downright creepy, making the atmosphere much more scarier and intense. Just be sure you're ready to hear "LEEEEOOON, HEEELP" 80% of the time. Not kidding lol.

RE4 is hands down the best Resident Evil game ever made.  In my (and many other people's) humble opinion.

It blends the classic horror of the old games and crazy action, without relying too much on the latter like 5 and 6 did.  Must-have for any RE fan ,,/

If you like the resident evil remastered for the ps4 then resident evil 4 may not be the best choice but it's decent if your looking for a great survival horror game in the resident evil univers then i HIGHLY recommend resident evil 2 it's by far the best in the series and is rumered to have a remake in the works.

I already have Resident Evil 2 and 3. I was able to download those after I finished Resident Evil HD Remaster. Now I want to move onto RE4. Oh, and before you say anything about RE5 and RE6 yes I have played RE6 and I extremel;y hated it. It was literally a playable micheal bay movie with RE characters in it. And I don't like the look of RE5 because of the fact that there are no zombies, it's way too action orientated, and the worst part is that you're doing all this in th DAYTIME when past RE games have always done a night time theme since the series is all about survival horror. or at least..was about survival horror until RE5 and RE6 came along.

Yeah only RE6 not RE5. RE6 was waaaaaay more CoD than Re5 even though that game is still about action. Especially Chris' campaign.

Chris is no longer a resident evil characters he quit survival horror to be in black ops 2 lol

Yeah. That's exactly what I hate about Chris now. I hate how they made him a buff, CoD soldier. I like him better in the old RE games because that was when he was actually a good character. I miss old Chris Redfield :/.
