Tales of Symphonia HD is coming to PC, Bandai Namco have announced. The PC release will be based off the HD version released last year, and will be available sometime in 2016.

As previously reported, Tales of Zestiria is also coming to Steam and will be released this year. The pre-purchase bonus for Tales of Zestiria on Steam will depend on the number of pre-orders. Once the number of pre-purchases reaches a certain number, bonus content will be made available for all users. The final step of this campaign is a free copy of Tales of Symphonia HD for all those that pre-purchase Zestiria.

At first I didn't really care since I have the PS3 version of Symphonia but then I remembered it can be modded to add Free Run which will make things quite a bit more fun.

Surprised they did this before Xillia.

I read about this earlier today. That's pretty cool, I must admit. I'd love it if they start releasing older games on Steam as well. I'd like to try Tales of Destiny and Phantasia. Abyss would be really nice to have on there as well, just for the fact that, I assume, it would be upscaled and the annoying amount of jaggies would be tamed. Though, I'm not sure how likely that is what with the (somewhat) recent 3DS release.

So if you have Tales of the Abyss for both PS2 and 3DS. Well, how is the 3DS version compared to the PS2 version? Are there any differences besides graphics?

Solid 30 fps inside and outside of battle(most of the time)While the ps2 version had 60 fps inside of battle and outside the fps wasn't really constant iirc.Either than that there weren't any changes in terms of content and whatnot but they did remove the ability to play with other ppl(not party members, real ppl lol) in battles.

There are some slight difference. The arte shortcuts that would've been on the second analog stick are now on the touch screen, cooking shortcuts are on the touch screen, some slight differences in sidequest timing (or so I've heard, but you won't miss anything using a guide for the PS2 version), and Unknown difficulty is adjusted compared to the original American release... There may be a few other things that they've relegated to the bottom screen, but no major changes. Oh, and of course the entire game is in widescreen now, and they added the 3D effect (its very poor, though, probably the worst I've seen).

Wait what did they adjust for the Unknown difficulty mode in the 3DS version?

They changed the stat multiplier for the enemies. In the original release it was something like 4x the stats and in the 3DS it was 3.5x.

EDIT:

Actually, I'm looking into now because I wanted to be sure, and it seems like the Japanese PS2 version had the 4x stats, while the localized PS2 version had 3.5x, and that change carried over into the 3DS version. So between the localized version of each, no difference in this regard (though either way, Unknown can get pretty ridiculous, especially in early game).
