Two problems regarding my Windows taskbar and how numbers are desplayed. Help?

Posted

I tried to found solutions all over, but I found none, so I hope I could get some help from you amazing folks.

Basically my problems are the icons that I removed from my taskbar remain there in some sort of tattoo effect or something, and my clock signs look weird as hell.

Anyone knows anything about this? I'm scanning too see if it's any virus installed on my computer/system, so we'll see.

Well, I just messed around for about ten minutes on my computer to see if I could replicate the problem, I can't... The ghost icons are really strange, I can't find any options that would allow something like that to happen. I'll do some searching of my own, though I probably won't find anything you didn't.

EDIT: Yeah, I couldn't find anything. Heck, I couldn't even find someone with the same issue... Sorry, I tried. :/

As for the numbers, I can't really tell what the problem even is. I mean, the date and time format is different from mine, but the name of your recycle bin implies to me that you don't live in the US and most other countries do use the format in the picture.

Actually, I do notice that, getting close in, there's certainly something odd. It almost looks like the transparency of the taskbar and your wallpaper are causing it. Like, right at that point on the picture there's some white spots (which seems possible considering there's spots of whiteness dispersed throughout). Maybe try changing the picture you have as your wallpaper and seeing if the problem persists? If it does, then I again have no idea what's going on.

(btw, really cool pic you have for your wallpaper)

You know what, when regarding to the numbers, I'm one firetrucked up mind kid. It's probably the image which has white spots that I hadn't noticed *sigh*. Thanks for that.

AND AFTER CHANGING MY GODAMN BACKGROUND TO BLACK, THE GHOST ICONS WERE GONE! Which is pretty alright, but it's really firetrucking messed up on how it happened. My Avast is still running, it has one infected file so, I'll see what it is and if it's related to something.

Appreciate all the care you took on making this post, take it easy man.

(It's a cool wallpaper right?! :D)

EDIT: Yeah I'm from EU, not NA D:

EDIT 2: I switched back to my original desktop background, and there are NO white spots, and the numbers are ok now. Ghost icons are gone too, I suspect this was probably an infected file. I'll update this if I find the source of it, just to let you know.

Glad to see your issue is fixed, even if it still doesn't make any sense as to why it happened in the first place. If it was an infected file, I guess you're pretty fortunate that it only ended up causing these weird issues and not doing something worse. X_X

Oh glad you replied, was forgetting to reply back. Like, idk what the infected file was all about (it was only 1) but like, it had nothing to do with anything at all, I eventually fixed the file but it's weeeeeeeeeeeird.

Well then, yeah that's just strange. Maybe it was just a weird, out of nowhere glitch or something? If it was some sort of file infection, and neither of us could find any solutions, that's the only explanation I can think of.
