This RP is based off of several elements of "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins.

 

The future is not what it seems. The United States has been separated into "districts". There are 13 districts, each of them stricken with extreme poverty. Living off of the land is strictly prohibited, so many starve. In order to allow some people to live, the Capitol (the government) has created "The Hunger Games". The winner of these games will receive extravagant amounts of money, a new house, and plenty of food. Two "Tributes" from each district are chosen to participate in these games. The games may seem like they are fun, but they are anything but. Winning the game will make some go through extreme pain and tons of mental stress. Why is this? To win the Hunger Games, you must kill every other tribute in a specialized arena the government has created, including the Tribute from your district. The arena face can vary from a jungle to a desert. The age range for the Tributes vary from 12-18, any gender. Many people find these games cruel, but some families are so desperate, they support them. The Capitol enjoys these games for entertainment, but they believe that the Hunger Games are for a greater good.

1. Nobody in this RP has super powers, you are normal human beings.

2. You cannot god-mod in this RP.

3. We will not start off in the arena.

4. Your posts must be descriptive and without extreme grammatical errors. Posts with one full paragraph, at least 5 sentences.

5. Every District has one male and one female Tribute. If there is already somebody of your gender in a District, please choose another one.

6. Do not kill other RPers without permission

Appearance (you get new clothes in the Arena): Jacob has slightly tanned skin, dark brown hair that hangs over his head, a mustache, and a few beard hairs. He wears a white T-Shirt, torn black Docker shorts, and a pair of old Reeboks. Mostly, his facial features are hidden by his hair, but when he pulls his hair back, you can see his depressed look.

 

H.G. weapon: He has an assortment of throwing daggers, which have been dipped in one of the most deadliest toxins in the world. He also has a blowdart gun, two battle daggers, and a limited supply of mines.

 

Short bio: Jacob and his family moved from Canada to the U.S. 10 years before the creation of the Hunger Games. They had lived a pretty good life in California before it got turned into District 8. After this, their lives made a turn for the worst. They lost most of their money, and they couldn't afford a lot of food. 3 years ago, when Jacob's brother Jackson was picked as a Tribute, they had mixed emotions of happiness and depression. They prayed everyday while he was in the arena, but unfortunately, he was killed when there were only 3 people left. This left Jacob in a state of depression and anger. He dropped out of the Capitol created school system, and began to just walk around his district, with nothing to do.

Another day has gone by. Another day without a decent meal. All Jacob had today was a bowl of dry oatmeal. As the Twilight begins to fall, he begins to head back home. He had been walking around District 8 all day today. He witnessed a few whippings in the Capitol plaza around 3 p.m. The man that was whipped had been caught hunting in the woods. As Jacob recollects on his day during his walk home, he notices Capitol vehicles fly by him. What are they doing here? Unless...it's time. Jacob starts to run the opposite way from his house. The cold wind blows against his face and hair as he sprints towards the Capitol square. When he gets there, he notices the whole District population standing in the square. There was a large stage, and Capitol officials were standing on it, looking down at the people. A man in a white suit was standing at a microphone. "Today is the biggest day of the year. The day we pick the Tributes for the Hunger Games."

Brian put his hand on Sophia's shoulder and smiled."Its going to be okay.Remember...",Brian said.Brian then looked around and said to Sophia,"...We got the data stick."Brian snickered and then turned back to the gate.He wasnt going to let Sophia or him die in this.Brian then jumped into the portal.With a flash of light,Brian lands on the ground,in a big forest of maple trees.He waited for Sophia,and got into the Sprint position.Brian was determined to win this.If he got to the highest hill of the arena,then he would show everyone.The corruption,the plans,everything about the games would be shown - and Brian was ready to show it to the world.

Sophia nodded in agreement, but she didn't believe it. It couldn't really be alright, could it? There didn't seem to be any escape now. Stacy, glaring furiously with a shiny purple bruise on her forehead, marched up behind them. She pointed to two portals. "Both of you, go now." She frowned at Sophia, looking as if she hoped it would be the last time she ever saw her alive. Which it probably would be. Instead of scowling, Sophia beamed. "Alright, Stacy. Thank you SO much for being the BEST escort EVER." She rolled her eyes internally. By the touched by slightly confused expression on Stacy's face, she'd be long dead before she actually realized there had been a sarcastic touch to Sophia's voice. She laughed, and walk towards her portal.

Jacob looks around and sees all of the Tributes, ready to run as well. A voice rings throughout the entire arena. "Tributes, get ready to begin in 5.....4.....3.....2............1!". The horn blows, and Jacob runs full speed to the table, several Tributes right behind him. He jumps on the table and grabs two backpacks, and then jumps off and dashes into the trees. He saw Elizabeth shoot an arrow straight through the heart of a boy from District 10. "You can do it, Liz.", he whispers. He begins to run east, hoping that he could find shelter. 2 minutes into the game, he finds a tall, sturdy tree, and begins to climb it.

Brian snapped and ran as fast he could.He took his backpack and looked at a tree.Brian drew 2 knives and began to climb the tree.After he got his look,he saw a big hill in the center of the arena.Brian signaled Sophia to follow,and Brian sprinted as far as he can.It was 50 miles away,so Brian began to jog.He looked behind him to see if Sophia was following.Brain asked Sophia,"Coming?"Brian,whether she was following or not,began to run to the hill.He was running in a pace,so he wouldnt get thirsty too fast.

Sophia was almost frozen when she heard the horn blow. Even after all of the assurance she wasn't dreaming, that this was real, she still had to pinch herself. She wanted to turn around and scream for them to let her out. She'd rather spend eternity on that dumb loading dock than be here. She didn't want to die like THIS. Instead, she bolted towards the Cornucopia. Probably not the smartest idea. The bloodbath always occured now--the most casualties in the Games was dying to get supplies to live. She remembered her parents muting the T.V. and explaining how wrong the Capitol was, how cruel this was. Now, they probably had it muted so they wouldn't hear the screaming. So they wouldn't fear the next scream to be her.

Brian quickly ran to the Cornucopia as fast as he could.He was determined to get supplies,re-group with Sophia,and get to the hill.Only then can he reveal the Capitol's corruption - only then can this madness stop!Brian looked behind,and saw Sophia coming with him.He quickly sprinted and sprinted more and more.Brian got there exhausted,but he saw a boy from District 4 climbing up for it.Brian snuck behind him and slit the boy's throat.Brian then panted,exhausted.He waited for Sophia,so they could regroup.When he got there,he took some water and started drinking it.After drinking his water,he looked out the window,to see if Sophia was coming his way."Maybe those workouts werent pointless",Brian whispered to himself.

Sophia was just a step behind him. If she'd wanted to, she could've beated him to the Cornucopia. Without stopping, she slung a backpack from the Cornucopia over her shoulder, and jabbed a District 12 boy with her staff. He clutched his stomach, and she spun, kicking him in the head. The boy collapsed. She knew she should kill him, right here and now, but she just couldn't bring herself to actually do it. This was the worst place to wimp out. She shook her head slightly, and looked at Brian. "This is all I can carry and still run fast. Let's get out here!"

Jacob sees the boy from District 1 climbing a tree close to his. Should I kill him? He places his hand near his poison throwing knives. Nah. Jacob climbs down his tree and begins a trek to find a new one. As he jogs through the woods, he hears an animal growl. Not familiar with the sound, Jacob decides to check it out. He runs towards the source of the noise, and finds a cave 2 miles away from where he was. He takes out his battle daggers and enters the dark cave slowly. As he tip toes in, he can see a faint outline of the animal. A bear. Before he could turn on his heels and run, the bear pounces Jacob. Jacob collapses under the bears weight, and is bitten in his right arm and left leg. Before the bear could maul him any further, he shoves one of his daggers in its throat, and then slashes sideways. The bear falls over, dead, but Jacob cannot stand to his feet.

Brian packed everything else in his backpack.Brian groaned and was ready to hit the road.He started walking to the hill in the center.He was determined to get to the hill.After getting out of the Cornucopia,Brian looked at Sophia.He was ready to kill,ready to die,and ready to show the stick to the world.Brian sighed,with his mind made up,and ready to go,Brian looked at Sophia."Ready?",Brian asked.

Jacob crawls out of the cave using his good limbs. Damn, I'm hurt already. He lays on the ground, completely helpless. I knew I wasn't going to make it.. Footsteps. Jacob hears them, but can't respond. His body isn't cooperating with him. This was the end... A boy from District 13 appears from behind the cave, and sees Jacob helplessly lying on the ground. The boy jumps in excitement, and pulls out his weapon. A long, curved knife. The boy runs to Jacob's body and prepares to plunge his knife into him, but Jacob quickly tosses one of his poison knives right at the boy, impaling his head. The boy slumps to the ground, dropping his back from the Cornucopia as well. Jacob struggles to his feet, but does get on them, and walks over to the boy. He pulls his knife out of the boys body, and then opens his pack. A container of Mickey's Instant Cast was in there. Jacob takes the container and opens it, and applies to instant cast to his right arm and his left leg. Not more than a minute later, his arm and his leg was covered with a thin but tough barrier of cast material. He was able to move both of them, so he moves on, taking the boy's weapon with him.

Brian continued to the hill.He looked to his right.He saw the boy from District 1.Brian walked up to Jacob and started helping him.Brian was helping Jacob walk."I'm not letting any of us 3 die",Brian said.Brian looked around to see if anyone was here.Brian looked at Jacob's foot,and smiled at Jacob."We're going to live.",Brian said."Because there are numerous Cornucopias throughout the map - if we loot them all,we'll have more than enough supplies for the competition.You in?",Brian asked.

Sophia ran after them. "Slow down!" She complained. "I feel like my mom at an amusement park. I'm carrying everything! I can't go so fast!" She finally understood her mother's constant complaining for them to do things themselves. She was far too overworked. Sophia knew she couldn't stand another week of this, let alone twelve years. She caught up, and glared at Brian. "Thanks for ditching me." She snapped. She smiled at Jacob. "Where's Liz?"

Jacob turns away and says, "She's by herself, I'm looking for her. I don't want or need any of your help, but thanks for the offer." He starts to walk back towards the cave where he slayed the bear. There he would back camp. Why are these people trying to gain trust so badly? It just doesn't make sense. Alliances in here get cut quickly once your partner is with you in the final two.

Brian sighed."You NEED our help.Theres corruption in the Capitol - we have proof of a conspiracy about the games - without me,you have no protection - with me,you can get out of here alive - your choice",Brian said.Brian looked around to see if anyone was coming.Brian then drew his bat and looked outside of the cave.Brian heard some leaves rustling,but was sure it was just an animal.Brian then looked at Jacob,waiting for an answer.

Sophia madly motioned to Brian, pressing a finger against her lips. "I wonder what my family back home is thinking as they WATCH this on LIVE T.V. right NOW." She hinted very deliberately. "I'm glad they'll be able to hear me tell them I love them. Because of all of the VOICE RECORDERS that NEVER TURN OFF." She coughed, and then smiled, as if she hadn't been saying anything out of the ordinary. "Now, come on, let's go find Liz then."

Jacob starts to get angry. "I know about how corrupted the Capitol is. If they weren't corrupt, we all wouldn't be poor and we wouldn't have to fight to the death for money and food. My brother knew the exact reason we have these games every year. And as soon as he found out, he was killed in here. But not by a Tribute, by muttation. The Capitol forced the Gamemakers to send them out on him, because he knew too much. None of us are getting out of here alive, no matter what we accomplish. Even if we get out of this arena, the Capitol will just kill us on the outside." Jacob throws a knife at the cave wall, and surprisingly it pierces the wall. "We might as well just do what the Capitol says to keep our families alive."

Brian laughed."Think of this - without us,theyre powerless.We make everything for them - guns,ammo,phones - without us,theyre powerless.We unite the districts against them,they're doomed - all the guards want is money - they help us take out the Capitol,and the entire nation can regrow.",Brian said,with a hearty chuckle."All their information about the games is on here - i was able to find out a conspiracy - these games arent about the prize - theyre taking the last living man and killing him or her.They take him or her out,and then they take the money and prizes and keep it - this outburst can start a revolution - this can give us our power back - we show this world wide - They're powerless.They'll have no choice but to surrender."

Sophia coughed. "Live T.V. Gamemaker traps." Suddenly, the ground started vibrating. "Huh!?" She managed to catch hold of one of the violently shaking trees. She was right--the Gamemakers had heard them. And they weren't all too happy about it. Had they figured out she and Brian had stolen the memory stick yet? She saw Brian and Jacob struggling to stay upright. She was thankful the terrain here was flat. Otherwise when she fell on her butt she would've rolled down the hill. She barely managed to hang on to the pack. "GAMEMAKER TRAP!"

Brian jumped on a nearby tree.He looked up and started shouting."ITS TOO BAD THAT NOBODY KNOWS THAT THIS GAME IS A HOAX - THAT THERES NO PRIZE AT ALL - AND ITS A SHAME NO NEWS CHANNELS ARE HEARING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!",Brian yelled with a chuckle.Brian was sure that the news stations heard.He made the message clear - the districts were stronger than the capitol,and that it was all a hoax.

Jacob feels the earthquake hit. "Dammit!". He runs outside of the cave, grabbing all of his supplies before he does, and he runs towards the biggest tree he can find. He swings his bag up, and it catches on to a branch, and he climbs up the tree with swiftness. Once he gets to a sturdy branch, he looks down at the cave and sees that it has caved in, no entry. He then looks down at Brian and yells, "Great job. Because of your renegade mouth, my shelter got destroyed. Why don't you guys find someone else to partner with." Jacob then stands up on the branch and begins to hop from tree to tree, since they were so close. I need to find Elizabeth fast.

Slowly, the earthquake subsided. Sophia shakily got to her feet. What was the point of that? Obviously it wasn't to kill them. She suddenly realized how much lighter she felt. The backpack, containing the supplies to keep them alive, was gone. On top of that, she'd lost her staff while trying to keep a grip on the tree. Sophia spun her head around wildly. The object wasn't to kill them quickly. No, the Gamemakers were going to make an EXAMPLE of them. Garunteed to be painful and slow. She winced at the undeniable fate. She cleared her face just as quickly. To get out of here alive, she'd need sponsors. And before them, there was never a moment of weakness.

Brian,sure that the message was heard,quickly jumped down to the floor.Knowing the message was heard,he didnt know what to do,so he decided to wait until something happened.He wanted to make sure the message was heard,and he waited impatiently for help to arrive.Brian looked at Sophia with a smile."We sent the message - someone will help us now.",Brian said with hope.Brian continued to wait,and looked around to see if any tributes were there.

 

Brian checked his backpack.Everything was gone!His knife belt,the bat,the supplies - everything was gone!Brian continued to wait,regardlessly,and started to think of what would happen - if the other countries would do anything - if the Districts knew they were stronger - if they would rebel against the Capitol -if all the sorrow and greif of the districts would end.

Jacob jumps from a tree, but hits his head on a branch on the way down. He falls to the ground with a thump. "Damn." He lays on the ground once again. This world. I can't stand it. It's a stubborn S.O.B. He begins to think about his brother, and then his family, and then Elizabeth. He bursts into tears. I have to do everything I can to let her win, but I can't die for the sake of my family. They need to money and the food. He gets up slowly after his fall and walks into a clearing in the forest. He saw a trail that looked like it led to the top of a hill. Maybe Elizabeth already took this trail. Jacob grabs his supplies and moves forward. Halfway during his trip, he hears a rattling in the trees directly next to the trail. He was being followed. Quickly thinking, he throws a poison-dipped knife into the trees, and a girls body drops from them. A cannon fires. She's dead. Jacob gets a quick look at her. She was from District 9, the district right next to his.

Sophia knew what Brian was thinking. He was hoping they'd heard his message and would rescue them. She looked at the ground, not wanting to spoil hope in the land of hopelessness. But there was no way anyone would try to rescue them from these Games. She jolted hearing a sudden cannon boom. She remembered after the bloodbath at the Cornucopia was over, they collected the kids' bodies. Each cannon shot meant one more dead Tribute. She ticked off on her fingers. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! She waited, but there were no other sounds. She sighed sadly. Too late already. Eight cannon shots. Eight kids who'd never be going home again.
