Capcom previously asked fans how they’d feel about a Resident Evil 2 remake, and it didn’t take long until they decided to officially announce the game. Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi shared a video message to announce the project.

 

Capcom’s Producer for the title, Yoshiaki Hirabyashi a.k.a. H, from R&D Division 1, commented: “It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved. The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans’ passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want.”

I was so surprised when I first heard about this. I had been seeing the FB posts for a while on my feed but I can't believe something actually came from it. I'm sure we won't be seeing this for a few years but it's nice to know that it's happening. Definitely glad to know that Capcom finally listened to the fans on this. I wonder what new additions (if any) will be added to enhance the experience, similar to the things added to the Resident Evil REmake.

Yeah I was really glad (and overjoyed) to see this get announced. As for the new additions, I really think they should add all the modes that they added off of the GameCube remake of Resident Evil 1. Plus, maybe have two extra campaign modes where you play as Ada and Sherry and see things through their perspective. Also, they shoudl totally add in Resident Evil 1.5 since a lot of fans have been wanting to try out that beta version of RE2. that would be pretty neat imo.
