Earlier me and my cousin, (who's only 12) were doing one of those 16 personalities quizzes, and one of the questions were " You feel as if you often have to justify yourself to other people" and I thought it would be pretty obvious that she'd strongly disagree. She gets into a lot of trouble for being stubborn over this cos she never feels the need to explain herself. She takes it for granted that others automatically understand her reasons.
But she agreed, which really surprised me, and when I asked her why her answer wasn't really one I wanted to hear. She just said "cos I'm a Muslim". And I just felt awful. I know there's loads of people out there who just lie in wait for any Muslim to trip up and show a flaw, just so that they can paint us all in a bad way, but I thought this new generation was taught all about tolerance and respect.
I guess it'll take a loooong while for things to be peaceful again. Hughh
