clarifications about final keyhole and DTD

Posted

In KH1 the 7 PoH were gathered in order to get to the artificial Kingdom hearts of worlds' hearts situated in the RoD.

Now, as far as i get gathering them unlocks the DTD and opening it you are finally able to get to KH, but then why do maleficent and Ansem SoD refer to the FK (final keyhole) as the mean to get to kingdom hearts and don't mention the DTD instead?

Also where does the FK brings you exactly? It is implied that when Ansem went through it he arrived at 'end of the world' but, if this was correct, then how's possible Sora get there just by using the gummyship?

And why does darkness seep from it? what is the FK connected to?

It seems like the FK is actually a useless keyhole

At last why does the DTD appear in 'end of the world' is it always been there or did Ansem SoD teleport us to the endless abyss? if the latter was the case then what's the point of arriving at EoTW?

Thank you for your attention, hope I wrote in a clear English

You have to unlock the Final Keyhole by gathering the seven Princesses Hearts and forging the Keyblade to People's Hearts, that opens the Door to Darkness. They were just one step behind in their plan and the next logical step to OPEN the door was to unlock the Keyhole.

I'm not sure. I think, from what Cinderella (or Aurora, can't remember which) said, that he was just 'engulfed by darkness'. It's possible he already knew where it was and just transported himself there. Sora could get there by Gummi Ship because it's still a place you can get to, but it'd obviously take longer in a space ship.

The Door to Darkness. Plus, Hollow Bastion was half-dead and riddled with Darkness anyway, so...I think that answers the question. It's all connected back to the RoD.

I think the final stage of Ansem's boss battle is 'past' the End of the World and is instead directly behind it, where the the RoL meets the RoD. There's nothing but pitch-blackness behind the End of the World when you view it from the Gummi Ship, so that's a safe bet. Ansem can't physically move the DTD, but he can transport us to it so we can fight. (and also kill us with his giant Heartless tank) The point of travelling was because, if we didn't, Ansem would have won. It's not like he wants us to be there because we're trying to stop him, but once we're there, he transports us to the 'bigger' battlefield and we fight there. In the end, the means by which he wins don't really matter as long as he wins.

I agree, the FK must be connected to the RoD

nice deduction you must be right! the endless abyss and the DTD are situated (and have always been) on the boundary between RoL and RoD, then because of previous events EotW came into existence and it happens to be situated next to the DTD (there must be a connection btw), this implies that in order to arrive at the endless abyss you must first go through end of the world

Actually as far as I know the FK and the DTD becomes unlocked just by gathering the 7 PoH. In fact I have always thought the keyblade of people's heart to have been created by Riku-Ansem just to increase his strenght not to actually unlock anything.

Just tell me if I'm wrong and let me know your theory about this

Actually, it seems like that may be right. According to the wiki,

"Maleficent has used the seven captured Princesses to open the Final Keyhole, but without Kairi's heart, it is incomplete. With Ansem in control, Riku summons the Keyblade of heart, created from the six available hearts of the Princesses. Without Kairi's heart, the blade is also incomplete, and could release the stolen hearts if actually used."

So the Keyblade to People's Hearts is connected, but not an essential step in opening the DTD. The reason Ansem summoned it was so that he could use it extract Kairi's heart from Sora's body. (having already, apparently, extracted the rest of the Princesses' hearts to forge the Keyblade already) Maleficent had already 'opened' the Keyhole, but it needed Kairi's heart to be complete. Once Sora extracted her heart, that finished the Keyhole and unlocked the Door, if I'm understanding it correctly.

If things had gone normally, Kairi's heart wouldn't have gone to Sora and she would have been collected by Maleficent and planted in one of those Princess sleeping chambers so that all their hearts could work in unison...but instead, she did go to Sora so Ansem had to summon the third type of Keyblade, a Keyblade of Heart, out of the other Princesses of Hearts' hearts, to extract Kairi's and finish it. I think that's right so far.

You're right, I completely forgot about this, no keyblade of people's heart no Sora sacrifice and no massive feelings :')Well I think now everything makes sense, actually the explanation about the connection between FK, EoTW, DTD and RoD is just our theory and cannot be confirmed completely, but still is a very valid theory.ya know I feel like Nomura didn't intend to give these particular plot elements a real explanation, maybe he doesn't consider these elements important or maybe he just want us to use imagination xD
