I didn't know about it until I was standing in the store and saw a whole rack full of copies. I squealed, then bought one.

I have known KH since KH I was being played by my brother, after that I didn't follow any updates of KH (That time I had less interest in KH)...

I probably didn't even know that Kingdom Hearts existed back then. :D

I might have seen an ad in some kinda magazine, but I'm not too sure...

I don't think it was quite on my radar yet? I got my PS2 in... 2003 or 2004. The original was one of my first games (though not the actual first) so I definitely dug it, but I don't remember realizing there was a second one until I got it as a birthday gift, which looking at the release dates would have been a few months after release.

 

I can't remember if I had played it at a friends house before or after, but all within that general timeframe of "realizing it exists" to "getting it", so any particular announcement probably went over my head.
