Motomu Toriyama discusses being on the Final Fantasy Committee and what they do

Posted

FFDream.com asked Motomu Toriyama, the director of the Final Fantasy X series, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, & Final Fantasy XIII series about being on the Final Fantasy Committee (The committee consists of Yoshinori Kitase, Motomu Toriyama, Hajime Tabata & Naoki Yoshida) and what they do. This was back when they were promoting the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. FFDream.com is of course a French website, and Twitter user @BousfHearts kindly translated his response.

"That's a question we ask ourselves often at the moment. If you think about the kind of decisions that we could make for the future of FF, what the games will be about is not one of them. As you know, each FF is known for having the choice of presentation and development given to the dev team. What we talk about covers the business and plans for current projects, such as FFXIV, LR or X/X-2. We discuss which would be the best point in time to implement new content for the games, or if it's possible to arrange collaborations between the projects."
