Biography- Aya lost her virginity at the age of 10 years old to her father's brother, Charles. Due to her parent's work, her mother running a clothing line and her father working for the Queen, they were completely unaware.
Aya was continuously sexually abused by her uncle's hand, and too scared to speak up about it. It only grew worse when Aya's mother died due to fever.
After Viscount Alexander Everus was killed, Uncle Charles insisted he was chosen as the new watchdog. The Queen refused, for Charles was a second born. Uncle Charles was furious, and Aya was thrown out into the streets.
A brothel picked Aya up, however she at first did not know that they were not only a brothel, but ALSO a cult. They were against the Queen, and held interest in black magic. After Charles happened to step into the brothel one day, he informed the owner that Aya was an Everus.
They instantly treated Aya like slum, making her work for them as a prostitute. This happened on her 15th birthday. Charles started working for the brothel, and made Aya's life hell. That is when she made her decision. She wished things were like back then, before her abuse. Aya "accidentally" summoned something she would regret for the rest of her life, using the black magic of the cult. She summoned the high demon, "Veran Sterben".
Upon the contract for her happiness and how things were back then, she offered upon her soul. This contract was sealed until her wishes were fulfilled.

The doctor's eyebrows twitched slightly as he walked over and picked up the sample. "I had heard about the sickness from the man who delivers me mail from the city to here, but to think it has gotten so bad." Hansen said, getting his glasses back on as he took a closer look of th sample while still in the glass. "Such decay. I have never seen anything like this before." Hansen murmured as he sighed. "I came all the way over here to avoid the business of the city. The fumes of the factories and houses overall affected my wife's health. We came here in hopes of getting away from the troubles of the city...well I guess a doctor's work is never done." Hansen said, trying to sound cheerful. "I will get to work immediately then. Your friend is sick, is he not? Then lets see if we can find a cure. Though I have no idea how long it will take." Hansen said sincerely. He smiled gently at Aya and Veran. "I'll get started on this, meanwhile..." Hansen looked up. "Lazarus come down here." Hansen asked. The young man gently walked over to his father. "Lazarus, be nice to our guests. How about you show them around the place while I add a space for this on the lab." Hansen said happily. "D...Do I have to...?" Lazarus said, not really liking the idea. "Yes. Now go on, you need to be more sociable. This is the chance." Hansen said as he walked away. Lazarus groaned as he held his scarf. "Um...hi I guess..." Lazarus murmured as he shuffled his feet. "Do you...want to see the greenhouse?"

The best thing Aya and Veran could do right now was to be as polite as possible.

Aya and Veran could have made all sorts of rude remarks such as "you'll never get away from the hustle and bustle of the city" and "a doctor's work is never done" and questions like "what happened to your wife" or "why will it take so long to find a cure".

But instead, Veran kept his calm, and Aya kept a soft smile on her face while Lazarus shuffled over to them.

He was obviously not wanting to talk to them, but Aya would find a way to change that.

She stepped a bit closer to the shy boy, offering her hand...which was not usually offered by women...but did it anyways.

"You're Lazarus? I am Aya Everus. Nice to meet you! I would love to see your greenhouse. What kind of plants do you have?" She said rather excitedly, Veran knew it was a bit forced...

Lazarus stared at Aya and down at her hand. He slowly reached out to take her hand, and gently shook it. "...hi." Lazarus said as he turned with her. "Follow me. The Greenhouse is down here." Lazarus said as he could hear the thunder beginning to growl from the outside. It wasn't unusual for it to rain, and the sound of the pitter patter against the windows seemed to calm Lazarus momentarily. He walked down the halls, which were richly decorated with tasteful furniture, paintings and portraits. Some of them about the doctor in his younger days, others of other family members, and so on. Some of a woman who shared Lazarus' stunning eyes. "We barely get any visitors out here. Only people who insist on father on treating them instead of going to other doctors. But I guess the Queen over trumps all judgement." Lazarus said in a mellow judgement. He constantly checked on his scarf and on the sleeves of his shirt, pulling on them and constantly checking up on it. "You and your butler work for the queen? How is that like? I've never met the queen. They say she's pretty though." Lazarus went on speaking. He reached the end of the hall and opened the doors. There was the large greenhouse, the ceiling and walls made up of glass as it contained all kinds of plants and flowers. They were divided, one part for produce and vegetables as other parts contained medicinal plants and flowers of all kinds. It was a whole other world inside of a glass enclosure, providing all that they could possibly need in times that they couldn't go to the city to buy what they needed. "Dad needs all kinds of plants to make medicine for people. So we make sure to have enough for when people are sick." Lazarus said. He paused and turned over to face Aya and Veran. "Medicine takes time to do. Finding a cure for something takes even more time. You shouldn't expect a cure in a matter of dusk to dawn. It doesn't work that way if that is what you are hoping." Lazarus said rather matter of factly.

Aya looked at the pictures as they passed by them, Veran close to her as they walked towards the greenhouse. Veran kept his eyes on Lazarus though, curious on why he kept moving his scarf around. Was it really that cold?

As soon as the boy asked about how working for the queen was like, she spoke up.

"I kind of had to force my way into the current position I hold. I am the only one who technically works for her, its just Veran tags along in his sworn duty to protect me." Aya turned her head to look at Veran, smiling at him.

"Being the Queen's watchdog is not a job for anyone. Not many people know what I do...but those who do fear it." Her head turned back to Lazarus.

"I am able to bring balance and disbalance to this country. I save lives, and take them. An enigma, and a judge. I am what chooses the differences between right and wrong." A soft smile turned devious, Veran looking down at Lazarus, Aya quoting Samael.

"Finding a cure will take time." Veran looking around at the different herbs and medical plants.

Aya nodded slightly, looking at Veran, who had already plucked some medical herbs from the plants.

Lazarus stared and tilted his head before nodding, turning away. "You sound like a poet. Though most of them don't have to do such dirty work as you do." Lazarus said as he couldn't help but to glare at Veran. "Don't pluck our plants! We need those, you know. It's hard to keep them alive as it is. If you pluck too many then we might not have them when we need them." Lazarus hissed, obviously rather possessive over the plants. He walked over to Veran, roughly taking a few of the leaves he had taken out of his hands, leaving Veran with a few behind. "You may be the guard of the Queen but you can't go around and take what you want, geez." Lazarus said rather upset, puffing his cheeks as he walked back to the plants, taking the leaves and gently burying them underneath the moist dirt. "If you want the medicine to come any faster, I suggest you go bother father in his lab. Maybe that will work." Lazarus said as he was careful to make sure his scarf wasn't accidentally caught in any of the plants. He glared at Veran, puffing his cheeks. "I can take you to see father, but whether it will help making him figure out a cure faster or not I can't say. Medicine is still a science that is growing. You cannot expect a cure to spring out much like a flower to spring out from a seed planted hours before. It takes time." Lazarus said as he walked past Veran and Aya, back inside. "Follow me."

Veran dropped the plants he had left over in his hands into a pot, biting his tongue. How did Lazarus pick up on what Veran did?

Aya was stunned by this, looking at Lazarus closely. Just who was this boy?

Veran was usually swift enough for people not to notice, however he was caught this time. It took effort for him not to punch the hell out of the boy.

They both followed Lazarus, Aya walking ahead of Veran, both of them silent.

Lazarus led the two to his father's lab all the way on the second floor. He knocked on the door. "Father. I've brought the guests." Lazarus said. "Come right in my dear!" His father called. Lazarus opened the door. The room was large, full of shelves filled with books and tables filled with different utensils that looked out of a Frankenstein novel. The doctor had the sample underneath a microscope. Other shelves were filled with jars filled with dead animals and beings simply sitting dead. "Welcome to my lab." The doctor said cheerfully as he gave a twirl and signaled them to enter. "Make yourselves at home. Though be careful what you touch. I suggest you put on some gloves." The doctor said as he returned to the sample. "This sickness is absolutely fascinating. I had never seen anything like it. It takes any living organism and simply eradicates it. However it only seems to be attracted to human skin. Truly a marvel." The doctor hummed, smiling. "Researching this could be quite wondrous. Maybe even find a solution to decay. Can you imagine? To keep a body from decaying, to keep it as beautiful as it was when it died. But that can only happen if I find a way to reverse the effects of this sickness...but that's just me talking ahead of my own time." The doctor chuckled as he smiled at the two. "Will you like to help me find out a cure? Surely someone so young would absorb this information like a sponge! Never too late to learn, and all." The doctor said. Lazarus scoffed a bit, hiding behind the shelves. "Kissing up to the queen's watchdog that is." "Lazarus, how rude."

  • Author

"I would be welcome to help you find a cure." Aya said with a smile, her eyes fixated on things in the room.

It was a rather haunting place, but it was also very interesting.

"Decay is something that comes naturally. Disrupting something natural would be rather hard to do...especially while the person is dead." Veran said as he walked to Doctor Hansen's side, where he was examining the piece.

"Your son Lazarus is rather attached to that scarf of his. May I ask why?" Veran asked in a low voice as he stared at the piece of dead skin being observed, Aya shuffling some glass bottles around to observe what exactly was inside them.

Was this guy really a doctor or just some kind of freak?

The doctor hummed. "Oh I know. But sometimes people aren't ready for death, you know. Keeping it from decaying could be a way to comfort those who aren't ready to see their loved ones from moving on." The doctor said as he poked the specimen with a few needles, pouring some liquid into it. "The scarf? Oh. His mother made it for him. The dear was very much into knitting. It was one of the last few things before she died on us. She was too sick even for me to heal. May you rest in peace my beloved." The doctor sighed as he kissed his own ring. He glanced back and watched as Lazarus walked around with Aya, looking at the glasses. "It also hides his scars from the surgery. He is very sensitive about them, and doesn't like people seeing them, even though they are proof that he has defied death itself. My little miracle seed. Rather shy though. I'm sorry if he has been rude to you or lady Aya." The doctor insisted. Lazarus watched Aya stare at the animals inside the glasses. "They're abnormalities caused at birth. Two heads. Extra limbs. Most of these died before they could breath their first breath naturally. Doctors use these in order to use as an example in case it is to happen to humans." Lazarus explained.

  • Author

"It is rather terrifying." Aya said as she placed a bottle down.

"Does this happen because of pollution?" she then asked, turning her head to Lazarus.

"We are a bit used to people being rude to us..." Veran muttered, looking over at Lazarus.

"I don't mean to be rude, but scars from a surgery? What happened?" the demon then turned his eyes to Doctor Hans, giving him that pitiful, hazed look he gives.

This man was going to tell him. There was probably another reason why the Queen sent them here.

Lazarus nodded. "Yes. Pollution is a cause of this. The waste ends up going to place it shouldn't, it affects the living beings there, and as a result the offspring are born with difficulties caused by it. There are other reasons, of course. Genetic mutations and all. It isn't something that can be predicted like the weather. All we can do is learn and hope to prevent it for humans, as it has happened before. Did you know that dozens of children are abandoned by their families because they are born with deformities? It is rather tragic. You can still find them wondering around the bad parts of the cities whenever they are not in the orphanages. After all, who would adopt atrocities?" Lazarus said as he looked over at Aya. The doctor smiled at Veran. "His head got chopped off." He said rather simply, returning back to the piece of infection, picking it up and dropping it into a solution to extract whatever it makes it so deadly. "It was unlucky. We were at the city in one of the churches, praying for my wife and her soul. We didn't see the dangling metal cross who's chains were too weak. It simply broke, and with a clean slice, it fell on my child, and his head was chopped off. It was as if the world wanted to take everything from me, so..." The doctor smiled at Veran and pointed at his neck. "I sewed his head back on!"

  • Author

"I'll address to the Queen about pollution. I don't think I can do anything about genetic mutations though..." Aya muttered.

She then turned to Veran, who looked like he got his soul sucked right out of him.

That is when she heard it too.

"I sewed his head back on!"

Aya stepped quickly away from Lazarus and practically dashed over to Veran's side, who took hold of her wrist gently.

"The cross...fell on you?"  Veran asked, his eyes turning to look at Aya's.

"How is he still alive?" Aya then spoke up.

Lazarus watched as Aya ran off from his side. His expression saddened, as if his heart had shattered in a way. Lazarus pursed his lips and gripped his scarf tightly. "It did...It fell on me and my head got cut off. I even saw mother." Lazarus said as he backed away and hid behind the shelves again. The doctor stood up. "Don't worry, milady. He isn't a zombie that will eat your flesh. He is very much human." The doctor insisted as he walked over to him. "He is alive due to the result of one of my experiments. Lazarus, come here, we need to show them." The doctor said. Lazarus stepped out from the shelves, walking over to his father, who gently removed the scarf to show off his scar. It was eminent and the stitches remained still. "I made a deal with a Grim Reaper I had met before. Together we did something outstanding! We created a small box, much like a music box with the mechanisms of a clock, that would roll a blank part of his cinematic record over and over again, so his soul would believe that he was still alive. While doing this, the new memories he makes are engraved in this new cinematic record that will eventually be connected to the original one. It isn't such as medical as it is supernatural, but it works, and the materials used to create the blank records are found on the earth." The doctor explained as he fixed his son's scarf. "Trust me. You do not need to be afraid. He means absolutely no harm to you." He insisted, turning to Veran and Aya. "It will take some time for the virus to be extracted to experiment on. You guys must be hungry. How about we treat you guys to dinner?" The doctor said as Lazarus shook his head. "They wouldn't want to eat. Not with a freak like me!" Lazarus hissed, running out of the room. "Lazarus!"

  • Author

Veran looked at this man like he was sick. Tampering with beautiful souls. How taboo.

"It's best not to make deals with anything supernatural." Aya then spoke to Doctor Hans.

Despite his disgust, Veran almost burst out laughing at that daring comment Aya just made. Best not to make deals with anything supernatural? This girl had already fallen too deep into the disgusting hole called Hell.

"If Lazarus does not want us to eat here, me and Lady Aya can go eat in the city. We need to get some things from the manor while we are at it..." Veran proposed to Aya.

"Is that alright?" she asked Doctor Hans.

Hans shrugged. "Well, sometimes one can be desperate. He is my only son, you know." He told Aya. "Nonsense. Lazarus needs to learn that he can't hide inside this manor forever. To have you guys as guests will do him good. Besides. I don't think you will be able to step out for a while. With this much rain the roads must be flooded to the brim." Hans said as he pointed out the window. The rain had made the following ponds and pools to overflood, the road unable to allow anything or anyone through. "Please stay for dinner. Until the road clears up, at least. By the time you leave, I should have the cure ready for you to take back to the city. Hopefully, I mean." Doctor Hans said as he walked over to the door and nudged with his head. "Come along. You'll enjoy dinner. It's a family recepie." Doctor Hans insisted as he walked out the room, down to the dining hall. "Please forgive my son. He has yet to come out of his shell. He needs to eventually. Exposure to you guys will help him wonderfully, actually." Doctor Hans said as he chuckled and disappeared within the mansion, the scent of food already wifting through the air.

Aya and Veran were then left alone in this huge manor.

"Best not to make deals with the supernatural? You are quite hilarious, Aya." Veran let himself laugh, looking at the girl beside him.

"Shut up." She snapped back at him.

"It is rather interesting that he made a deal with a Grim Reaper. I didn't think they had the morals to make deals with humans." Veran pondered.

"He was desperate. I understand." Aya then commented.

"You were quite desperate as well, were you not?" the demon smirked as he leaned down to her level.

"Quite." she pushed Veran's face away, walking to the dining hall with him behind her.

At the dining hall the food was already set out, prepared for whoever. Lazarus was already in his seat, glancing up at Aya and at Veran slightly. "Great, you're staying for dinner." Lazarus said with a tone of annoyance in his voice. "If you didn't think I'm a freak now, then you'll be getting a kick out of this one." "Oh please take a seat! Take a seat! It's dinner time and we wouldn't want it to get cold!" Hansen said as he walked in, pushing someone on a wheelchair...more of something. It carried a strong stench of perfume, as if someone had simply dumped three bottles of it all at once in order to cover a dry, putrid scent. Whatever was sitting on the wheelchair was wearing a white dress, and a veil covering its face as Hans settled it sitting on the farthest part of the table, to make sure that the guests didn't feel comfortable presumably. "Don't hesitate in taking a bite." Hans said as he sat down on his own chair, taking off his gloves. "So this is the Queen's Watchdog?" A voice spoke. Into the room walked a young boy, younger than Aya's age even. He wore a suit that seemed to fit him despite how young he was, carrying what looked to be a whip on his hip. "Ah this is the Grim Reaper I was talking about!" Hans said with a smile. "Ex-Grim Reaper. I am not part of the Organization anymore. I do not work on orders of anyone. My name is Nikolai." The young boy said as he sat down on a chair of his own. "The others should be joining us momentarily." Nikolai said as he looked over at Aya. "You don't seem like much of a Watchdog."

Biography: A young boy who lived around the time of the Children's Crusade. Though he will not reveal much of the details of what happened at the time, it is known that he was one of the thousands of children who joined in the Crusade to take back Jerusalem, believing that god had sent them to take back the holy land. Legend says that the adults within the group betrayed the children upon arrival. Those children who did not die of starvation or exhaustion were sold into slavery. He lasted a year before he took his own life. Now he's a stray Grim Reaper that works on his own accord.

Aya sat right beside Lazarus, mainly to get on his nerves. Veran sat beside Aya, and the two looked as the thing in the wheelchair came in.

They were trying to cover up a scent, and they were doing good at it too, as Veran could not pick up exactly what it was.

"Veran, weißt Du was das ist?" Aya spoke to him, using her German.

"Der Duft ist abgedeckt. Ich weiß nicht, was es ist." Veran said back to her.

"Es scheint sich dabei um ein Körper...aber von wem?" Aya looked at Veran, curious.

"Vielleicht die Mutter...Der Doktor hat gesagt er will, einen Weg zu finden, um die Toten, vielleicht hat er bewahrt seine Frau? Er schien ihr sehr zu lieben..." Veran trailed off.

"Vielleicht also...ekelhaft." Aya commented back, ending their German conversation.

The atmosphere changed as Nikolai walked in, Veran staring the reaper down like it was prey.

"I am a perfectly good Watchdog. You just meet me and have no rights to say that, especially to a lady." Aya suddenly barked at the boy.

German Translation (rough):

"Veran do you know what that is?"

"I do not know what it is, the scent is covered"

"It seems to be a body...but whoms?"

"Maybe the dead mother...the doctor did say he wanted to preserve the dead. Maybe he preserved his wife? He did seem to love her a lot..."

"Maybe so....disgusting."

Nikolai shook his head. "The only reason you are a good watchdog is because of that demon that follows you around like a puppy." Nikolai hissed. He drank some of the juice in front of him. "Regardless. It is not I who came to fight you." Nikolai said as he watched a few others walk in. A familiar voice, at least to Veran, began to laugh. "If it isn't the demon! He's so much more handsome up close!" The woman said as she took a seat close to Veran, smiling. "It's so nice to finally meet you after so long~ I haven't seen you since that night over the corpses of dozens of orphans~" The woman chuckled. "Minerva, stop teasing the man. We shouldn't tease the meal before we get to bite it!" A man said while chuckling, walking past Aya as he smiled at her. "So young, for the Queen's watchdog. But you control the demon...so then again we have to cuddle up to you." The man said as he sat across Aya. Whoever they were, they weren't human. "We must thank the doctor for allowing us to use this as a way to talk to you. It would have come to a violent meeting otherwise!" The man said as he served himself some wine. "I am Noir. And this is Minerva. We would like to make a deal with you, Lady Evarus."

Veran and Aya froze in place as they were intruded on by these two people.

Did Doctor Hans have this set up? Did Lazarus and him know all along?

Veran's head tilted back as he saw these people enter, his fangs prominent, his eyes the fuschia red they were at times he was extremly pissed off.

"You're the one who said you were going to take a bite out of me that night. Weren't you?" Veran's voice shifted, placing a hand on the knife that lay on the table.

"Aya, the night of the orphanage incident, I heard a voice speaking to me. I suppose that you are the source?" Veran asked, picking up the knife and pointing it at Minerva.

"I don't know who you really or, or what your plans are, but under my command, you will not touch me, or Veran." Aya stood up suddenly, looking at the two that just entered.

"However, I will listen to your deal. However, know that I must obey the laws of the Queen." Aya did not sit down until Veran pulled her down softly.

She had the feeling she may have to use her gun soon.

"That was me~" Minerva purred. Noir chuckled and waved his hand. "Please! We didn't came in search of violence! We mean no harm to you at all." Noir insisted as he glanced over at the doctor and his beloved son. "They had nothing to do with this either. They simply offered the stage for us to be able to talk to you. All as part of a deal that we made, and as promised, will do." Noir said, causing the doctor to smile and look at his son, who could only stare back in uncertainty. "I am sorry that we have had to offer our home to you this way, lady Aya. But...we need their miracle." The doctor said in a whisper, looking distraught. Noir drank more wine. "First of all, the sickness isn't a virus that can be healed by simple modern medicine. It was a sickness created by us, through one of our contacts. Rutto, the son of Plague and all. He's a nice guy once you convince him to help you out. Anyhow." Noir took out a glass container from his cloak. "Here's the cure to that. The tears of Rutto. The only thing that can cure it. But we won't give it to you until you hear us out. We want you to join us, lady Aya." Noir said. Minerva spoke up. "You see. The supernatural and the humans have lived together in the same world for centuries. But for the longest time, the humans have always been the dominant species, killing and murdering the supernatural with no other reason than being different. So...we have a plan. To reveal the supernatural to the world, and reveal our assistance, in hopes of forcing a hand on the human counterpart. It will have one out of two outcomes; peace between the two...or full out war." Minerva said with a chuckle. Noir settled down a pin with the symbol of a skull on the table, sliding it to Aya. Made out of gold and precious jewels. "We have come to ask you to join our cause. As in, when the time comes, whether it be war or peace, you will help us protect the innocent supernatural." Noir asked, holding the delicate bottle with the cure in one of his hands, awfully lose.

  • Author

Aya scoffed, looking at the pin.

"You're asking this of the Queen's watchdog?" she could not believe them.

"Someone who works...to kill the supernatural?" Aya stood up again, Veran did as well.

"You're truly laughable. I refuse, but I will get that bottle. If I do not get it, it means the death of hundreds of people in London, and I cannot allow that at all. Especially with my friend at stake." Aya was very very blunt about it.

"Now that you told us the cure, we know how to get it. Also, revealing the supernatural to this world would be a very big mistake, I doubt there would be peace at all. You do know of witch hunts, do you not?" she snapped, her eyes on the vial.

"The supernatural is evil and disgusting. I know I may have a werewolf to watch over my house, and I do have Veran, but I am one of few. There are not many people who own werewolves and a demon. Any supernatural thing that treads on any street of London and causes disruption will not be tolerated by me, or the queen."

Veran smirked, looking at the vial.

"We will be getting that vial though." Veran commented.

Noir sighed. "Well this is disappointing. But I guess it cannot be helped." Noir said as he stood up. "I guess we better leave. You can keep the cure. Now we know who is our ally, and who is our enemy." Noir said as he slide the cure to Aya across the table and then backed away. "Minerva! Do the doctor a favor, and do our part of the deal?" Noir said. "Certainly." Minerva asked, as she pointed at the covered figure on the wheelchair, and moved her hand. The figure slowly, but suddenly, began to move, causing the doctor to gasp, and to Lazarus to look horrified. "...my love?" Hans asked, his eyes watering as he watched the figure stand from the wheelchair. "...mom?" Lazarus asked from his chair. Hans smiled, leaning in and expanding his arms. "My love its me. Its us! Do you remember us?" Hans asked, tears falling from down his cheeks. "...H...Hans..." The figure spoke, a female voice, raspy and struggling to sound. It moved closer, gently brushing her hand against Hans' cheek. "It's me...oh my god..." Hans said, now sobbing in happiness. But it wouldn't last. The figure threw back her arm and with inhuman strength penetrated Hans through the chest, ripping his heart out through his back. Hans gasped, his eyes widening as Lazarus screamed in horror. "FATHER!!!" Lazarus screamed. "...my...love...?" Hans asked. The figure remained silent, pulling the heart out of his chest. Hans gave his last breath, before falling back, dying within moments. Lazarus stared in horror as he cried. "...No...NO!!!" He screamed as the figure suddenly took the heart and ate it, blood spilling out as the figure ate the heart whole. Once it was done, it turned its head to the three remaining beings, screeching at them. "We better get going! It's hungry for hearts, we don't want to be next!" Noir laughed as he and Minerva ran through one of the doors, the heart eating creature as the corpse of the lady crawled on its fours straight at the three of them. Lazarus couldn't even move.

Aya caught the vial before it could fall off the table, sliding it in her shirt. She realized it was a small amount, but maybe they could make it last.

"Now it's time to do our side of the deal" Noir called out.

Minerva flicked her hand to the figure at the end of the table, and just like that, it rose.

Just as they had suspected, it was Doctor Hans wife, and Lazarus's mother.

Everything was fine for a bit, until the next thing Veran and Aya knew, a hand was pierced through the body of the last remaining doctor.

Aya only saw only a flash of blood before Veran's hand covered her right eye, blinding her from the horrible sight. She could only hear the screams of Lazarus.

Noir and Minerva ran off before Veran could get some payback on just how pissed off they made him, and he was about to run off with only Aya, but she stopped him.

"Veran wait!!" she called out.

Veran halted.

"Get Lazarus too."

Veran sighed, and pulled the poor boy away from his decayed mother right before she could take a bite out of him.

"Excuse me."

Veran pulled Aya up on his shoulder, pulling his hand off her eye, and Lazarus being pulled up on Veran's other shoulder, not able to keep him in place with his right hand, Aya having to hold onto the poor boys hand over Veran's head so he didnt fall off as Veran burst through the doors.

That thing was fast. Very fast. But Veran was faster, making it out of the manor as fast as he could, throwing the kids in the carriage and hopping in the front, pushing the horses along in the pouring rain, trying to get over any floods.

Lazarus didn't know how to even respond. In a matter of minutes he had lost everything and everyone he had left in this world. "Dad..." Lazarus mumured, whispering as he shook. He looked up at Aya with a pitiful sight. "None of this was meant to happen...he just wanted mom back..." Lazarus whispered. He felt as the carriage struggled in the tough terrain and looked up at Veran. "I hope he realizes that when the water rises the crocodiles do too." Lazarus said as he gripped the seat for dear life. He looked up at Aya. "...what will you do to me, now that you know that I'm a freak?" Lazarus asked. From behind, the creature crawled on its fours, chasing after the carriage as it stretched its arms, grabbing the back of the carriage and trying to pull it back and away from escaping, pulling with amazing strength. Lazarus shook as he whimpered. He had never been so scared! Then, a whip crackled, getting a hold of the creature's leg. Nikolai watched from afar, holding the creature with the whip. "I will not allow you to harm the innocent. That is my only goal." Nikolai said as he glanced up. "I hope you realize that you two are now the leading soldiers in this war. Because it's about to get ugly." Nikolai said as he pulled on the whip, ripping the creature off the carriage and dragging it back. He would finish the creature and make sure it wouldn't gain anymore hearts...he just hoped that Aya realized that her role had now increased.
