Biography- Aya lost her virginity at the age of 10 years old to her father's brother, Charles. Due to her parent's work, her mother running a clothing line and her father working for the Queen, they were completely unaware.
Aya was continuously sexually abused by her uncle's hand, and too scared to speak up about it. It only grew worse when Aya's mother died due to fever.
After Viscount Alexander Everus was killed, Uncle Charles insisted he was chosen as the new watchdog. The Queen refused, for Charles was a second born. Uncle Charles was furious, and Aya was thrown out into the streets.
A brothel picked Aya up, however she at first did not know that they were not only a brothel, but ALSO a cult. They were against the Queen, and held interest in black magic. After Charles happened to step into the brothel one day, he informed the owner that Aya was an Everus.
They instantly treated Aya like slum, making her work for them as a prostitute. This happened on her 15th birthday. Charles started working for the brothel, and made Aya's life hell. That is when she made her decision. She wished things were like back then, before her abuse. Aya "accidentally" summoned something she would regret for the rest of her life, using the black magic of the cult. She summoned the high demon, "Veran Sterben".

Samael quickly became equally as excited as Aya. Multiple ideas swirled in his head, the possibilities of what they could possibly make were endless. "Maybe..." Samael murmured. Then it came to him, lighting up like a lightbulb. "OH! How about we do a couple's matching outfit?" Samael asked as he hurried over and pulled two mannequins, one of the male model, the other of the female model. "We can make two outfits that match each other, a female version and a male version, something that a couple could wear together." Samael suggested, his eyes glistening at the image of a couple wearing matching outfits each to their own. That would be very cute! "Maybe we can wear it ourselves one day." Samael cooed at the idea.

Meanwhile Alexander felt somewhat offended by Veran's intake that he would be the one tackling the cake. However, maybe it was just Alexander looking for a fight. He never liked Veran. Never will probably either. "I'll help out with the cake too." Alexander insisted as he began to wash up some fruits. He began to cut them up into handable amounts, before beginning to melt chocolate in a pot. "You were originally the only servant in this manor before you began to adopt those two into service for Lady Evarus, right? Doesn't it get lonely, or annoying for you to have done everything on your own?" Alexander asked. He knew that he was a demon, but he couldn't help but to be curious. More reasons to hate, maybe. Or more reasons to try and not hate him as much. Who knows. Samael seemed to respect this demon alot. Maybe Alexander was just not seeing what he did. "How did you two meet anyways? Did Aya danced around in a circle singing to the moon? Samael tried that once and the closest thing that he got was a squirrel." Alexander smirked.

"What colors should we pick? Something that will look good on anyone..." Aya pondered, running her hands along the fabrics and stopping at black.

"Black is a flattering color. We could accent it with something else and create accessories to match the entire outfit!" she smiled as she held the fabric up.

This would be very, very fun.

"How did we meet?" Veran asked, his eyes glancing at Alexander as he went over and started warming up the oven.

"Aya summoned me on a whim. If she was found out, she would have definitely be killed. The brothel she had been kept in for a number of years had an interest in black magic-- and managed to use her knowledge of black magic to summon me. I took her out immediately. She hated me at first, but slowly ended up coming closer to me. There are maids around here ever so often, but I am usually the one who takes care of this place. It is not that hard." Veran explained as he started adding flour and milk to his almost complete vanilla cake mixture.

"She was luck she got a demon who wouldn't eat her soul like it was just some big meal. Humans call upon demons when they have no hope left, yet there are some demons that just treat humans worse than scum." he sighed to himself, mixing the batter.

"In exchange for her soul and her life...I will stay at her side until she gets revenge on her uncle. I will be at her side through the best and the worst of her days. If she ever needs me at any moment...she only has to call and I will be there." Veran smiled softly for a bit as he stopped mixing the batter. It was a true smile, but he cleared his throat and started working again.

"Have you known Samael all his life? I remember when I first met Aya, she couldn't bear to look at me or get near me." He laughed to himself, looking at Alexander now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Samael nodded. "Black looks good on any day and on anyone." Samael added as he searched across the large wall filled with those cabinets filled with different items to adorn. "We can also add white and red accents to it. Those three colors are sure to look wonderful together." Samael said as he hurried over to the desk and pulled out some sheets of paper, and picked up a pencil. "Let's see...something like this." Samael began, sketching down an idea for the outfits. It wasn't a masterpiece, as their true art would be shown once they got started on the actual clothing. But it was a start. "Hats and gloves and shoes!" Samael hummed as he exchanged between colored pencils to add the colors were he saw them fit. They were like a bunch of kids playing with a new toy...except this time they would be creating it.

Alexander listened to Veran, watching his expressions as he explained. As genuine his words sounded, there was always a bit of doubt. This was a demon, after all. What if this was all a fabrication? No, maybe it wasn't. It all seemed to fit, and for once Alexander could actually believe Veran instead of coming up with doubt in every words that came out of his mouth. "I...see. That's pretty...dark." Alexander began, not knowing how to respond correctly. "But...I guess that makes you a hero of some sorts. You saved her, and are helping her with her goal. A redeemer that will keep his part of the deal. There aren't many of those anymore left in this world." Alexander added, for once trying to compliment the demon. They would be stuck inside this household for the whole day, might as well get used to each other without fighting. "Yeah. I've known Samael even before he was born. I was born out of the love of two servants from the lady's household, and when the grand lady married senior Pandora, I was assigned to the new family. I remember when she got pregnant, watching her belly get larger every passing month. It was almost magical. She was so kind, and truly a woman wise beyond her years." Alexander began, sounding rather happy at the memories. He paused, frowning. "However, she did not survive the birth of Samael, and so I was assigned to serve the young master. He was so small when he was born! Almost sickly. His hair never developed pigment of color, and neither did his eyes, a trait inherited from his mother. I've been with him growing up, helping him learn of the good things in life...but I've also seen him through the bad." Alexander's tone soured as the pace of the knife began to fasten. "After the death of the grand lady, Pandora senior began to lose his mind, his temper becoming unstable, and he let it all out on his only child. I've watched Pandora senior lose his cool and beat Samael with fists and leather belts. The lucky times I was there I would wrap myself around him just to prevent him from receiving the worst of wounds and serve as a shield. The unlucky times he would lock the door and only open it up when Samael was already bleeding." He breathed heavily for a moment, as if to calm down from the memory, and moved on to create an arrangement with the pieces of fruit. "He never knew why he targetted him. No one did. He was so scared of doing anything when he father was around, especially when anything he did was never good enough. I was the only child in the household with him. I was the only non adult that could understand him. I was the only one close enough to keep him from slitting his wrists when his anxiety became too much to bear. I practically raised Samael...while that man did nothing but to torture him like trash." Alexander growled as he picked up a strawberry. "I was Samael's only friend up until now. Well, at least, until I pushed lord Pandora senior from the top of the stairs." Alexander finally added as he got the strawberry on the top. "Aya is his first friend outside of the two of us. That is why I'm so relent. I've raised him since he was born...I don't want to see him hurt."

"I have seen humans suffer through the 300 hundred years I have been around. I have seen war, death, agony, and much more. The fact that humans have to deal with the sufferings that come with it is something that I let myself forget...but there are certain things that bring the agony of human life back to me." Veran muttered to Alexander eerily.

He stuck the cake in the oven, closing it and setting a small timer, continuing to listen to Alexander's story as he began to make frosting. The story was not a happy one, but something made the demon stop stirring the frosting.

He put down his utensils and slowly faced Alexander with cold eyes.

"You killed Lord Pandora?" his voice was almost hushed, and shocked.

A million questions rushed to his head...and he was going to ask them all.

"Does anyone else know about this? Does SAMAEL know about this?! You better be happy Aya hasn't found out about this! Hell, you better be happy the QUEEN hasn't figured out about this!" he was yelling some, he couldn't quite pinpoint where the shock and anger was coming from. The boy was being abused, yes, but it still did not feel right.

A butler killing a family member. Then again, the more that he thought about it, that was exactly what Aya was going to make Veran do....he thinks.

---

Aya smiled and looked down at the sketch.

"We can do this!" she exclaimed, leaning down and kind of aligning her face with Samael's.

"You are an amazing designer. I am not as good as my mother was." Aya then winked at him, stumbling over and pulling the white, red, and black cloth out, laying it out on the floor.

It would take them a bit to finish the outfit, but it would be worth it.

Alexander looked back at Veran. He didn't expected for him to sound so surprised. But he did. Interesting. "In that order; yes, the oldest servants. They couldn't have agreed more that the old man got what he deserved. Secondly, Samael was there when it happened, but whether he remembers or not is a mystery to me. We don't exactly talk about it over dinner." Alexander began. He chuckled a bit. "Yes please keep them from finding out. I don't look good in stripes. Though why would it matter? It was declared an accident so long ago. Years ago. It wouldn't do much to arrest me now." Alexander said, trying to keep his composure. He was surprised that he sounded so...angry. Considering he killed on a daily basis practically. Well not daily but whenever Aya was in a mission and it ended up in a tight spot...which was once every other day. "Besides," Alexander began, walking over to Veran and standing infront of him, pressing his body against Veran's as his hand reached behind him. "No one mourned his passing. It was for the better good. You take lives easily too for Aya's sake. It's the same for me." Alexander whispered, their faces inches apart...before Alexander finally managed to reach what he was looking for in the kitchen counter behind Veran and retreated back to the fruit decoration. He decorated the fruit with smily faces made out of chocolate. Lots of chocolate! Enough for Samael anyways. "Don't think too much about it alright?" Alexander said rather cheerfully. Once he was finished he got the chocolate away. "So, Veran." Alexander decided to mess around with the demon. "How would you feel if they end up getting married?"

"Thank you!" Lazarus said as he walked out the door, struggling as he managed to somehow get the decorations in the carriage. "There. If we leave for the manor now we might get there in time to start decorating." Lazarus said. However Wulfric was distracted. "Hey, are you listening to me?" Lazarus asked. "Oh yeah...just...I think we're being followed." Wulfric said as he glanced over to the side. Lazarus followed his gaze, but he couldn't see it. "You're being paranoid." Lazarus groaned. Wulfric then pushed him inside, closing the door. "What are you doing?" Lazarus asked. "I'm taking us on a run! We gotta lose them on the way!" Wulfric said as he grabbed the carriage. "What? You can't carry all of this on your own." Lazarus insisted, but Wulfric smiled at him instead. "Hang on!" He said, and before Lazarus could complain, Wulfric had taken off, running with the carriage behind fast enough to leave only dust in their wake.

Alexander getting close to Veran almost made him shiver in disgust.

"If they decide to get married, that is entirely up to them." Veran took a long sigh, finishing up the white frosting.

He took some of the white frosting and divided it into three parts, dying the parts into three different colors, light pink, peach, and blue.

"I have no right to make her decisions, I only follow her orders, but I do have an influence on what she does." he mixed the new colors of frosting.

"How would you feel about it?" he then asked the fellow butler.

Aya and Samael were busy at work, cutting fabric, sewing fabric, getting everything together in actually a short amount of time.

Aya had finished sewing one side of something and stood up to go sit beside Samael who was cutting.

"We make a good team Samael." she smiled, looking towards him and smiling, their eyes locked together.

"It's kind of weird not being surrounded by Alexander and Veran, am I right?" she laughed softly, looking back at the fabric.

"It's almost nice to be alone with another human I can trust." she leaned her hand on her head, turning her eyes back to Samael.

Alexander paused. "I don't know how I would feel about it. I guess...seeing that its whatever Samael wants, whatever makes him happy. If getting married to your lady Aya makes him happy, then so be it." Alexander said, though there was a hint of sadness in his tone. In all honesty he would never want to see him walk away. He would want to stay with Samael forever as long as forever was. "...an...VERAN!!!" A voice echoed from the outside. It was Wulfric. Alexander walked over to the nearest window, looking outside to see Wulfric run into te property with the carriage in tow, dragging it himself. "They're back with the decorations." Alexander said, though there was something about how Wulfric ran that seemed...panicky. "Something's off." Alexander murmured. Meanwhile Wulfric stopped on his tracks, stopping in front of the manor, the dust still trailing behind him at his record breaking run. Lazarus stumbled out of the carriage, struggling, a hand over his mouth as he felt sick. "D...Damn..." Lazarus gagged, before hurrying over to the nearest bush and puking in it. Wulfric turned around, glaring as he could sense something coming towards them, entering the grounds of the Evarus manor. "I know you're there, show yourself!" Wulfric demanded. He was answered by a group of giggles. "It appears the werewolf is not as stupid as he seems!" "But that won't matter, since our business is not with him!" "He's led us to the true target!" Suddenly there was a poof of smoke, and from within it, three small figures came to light. They looked like little children around the ages of ten or twelve. Two boys and one girl, all around the same age and wearing frilly outfits. They looked human...but definitely weren't human. Lazarus groaned. "The actual heck?" Lazarus asked as he watched the three pose dramatically. "We are the demon triplets of hell! Lizzie!" "Lenny!" "Lent!" "And we're here to defeat mister Veran in the name of our master!" The three cheered. Wulfric and Lazarus looked at each other. "...Veran! You have guests!"

Samael cut with proficiency, cutting and handing the fabrics over to Aya. "It is a bit weird. I'm used to always being with Alexander. It's nice to have a break, though, and hang around with you and all." Samael chuckled with a smie. He finished with one fabric and handed it over to Aya. "Here, one of the hems for the dress." Samael said as he picked up some more fabric to sew up some frills. "I always forget that Veran isn't human. He makes a good human, for a demon." Samael said as he smiled at Aya. "If I'm your first human friend, then I promise to be the best I can be. I'll always be around if you need someone other than Veran." Samael added reassuringly.

Upon hearing Wulfric's cry, Veran sighed, opening the back door of the kitchen.

"Did you get the decorations?" he called out to the werewolf and Lazarus...only to be interrupted by something that almost made him want to slap both of the lower servants for bringing here.

Young demons. Three of them. Wanting to defeat him

Veran stepped out into the yard, making his way calmly to the three triplets, Lizzy, Lenny and Lent.

"May I ask who sent you and what you want to do with a contracted demon like myself?" he asked, getting ready to draw his guns at any moment.

"I'm trying to do some work so I suggest whatever efforts you have trying to kill me be carried out fast." he looked down at the lower demons and smirked.

He has been around for way longer than they have...and has more skill than them. Yes, power comes in numbers, but power also comes in skill.

Aya took the fabric in her hand, turning and suddenly hugging Samael.

"Even if I am doomed to die at the hands of Veran, I am glad I met someone as good as you Samael." she then backed away, starting to work at the bottom of the dress.

The triplets stuck out their tongues at Veran. Wulfric and Lazarus sneaked the decorations through the back door of the kitchen, much to Alexander's amusement. So it wasn't Aya who attracted bad luck like flies to honey. It was Veran. Great. Just great. "We're here on orders of your nemesis!" Lizzy spoke. "Yeah! He told us all about you being a very bad example of a demon, so we're here to set you straight!" Lenny said. "Once we do, he promised us we could have all the souls we wanted!" Lent added with a squee. Someone had sent them specifically for Veran. Not Aya. But Veran. It appears that someone is most likely trying to get rid of the one thing getting in the way between them and Aya's fate. "Out of the way, I'm going to start!" Lizzy said smiling as she winked. She pointed down at Veran. "Say your prayers." Lizzy said, and with a snap of her fingers, a beam formed at the end of her fingertips, shooting straight at the ground and rising up to Veran. At everything it touched, it simply combusted into small explosions and flames, fire tarnishing the grass and turning it black as pieces of ground began to explode into the air, going straight towards Veran. "Oh crap." Alexander gulped. "I'll get the house!" Lenny said as he hurried over to the side, pointing over at it with his fingers. Electricity formed, and it went straight at the home, aiming for a window. "I've got it!" Lazarus yelled as he opened the window, extending a metal rod while wearing rubber gloves and absorbing the electric shock, only to then whoop it into the sky just as it exploded. Oh. It was on.

Samael smiled and hugged back. "I always thought the world was very cruel...but meeting you. You are my miracle." He said with a chuckle, before continuing with the clothes.

'Shit' Aya couldn't help but think, covering her face with her hands as a deep red blush came to her face. Why was she so embarrassed? Nobody really has ever praised her like that.

"T-Thank you." she managed to sputter out, starting to grab some things for the male component of the outfit.

"And who would be my nemesis? I have only had a few I have disliked in all my years." Veran questioned Lizzy, looking at the small demon.

Lenny then spoke of Veran being 'an example of a bad demon'. Veran almost laughed.

"Is it because I don't freely take souls like some of you ravage beast? Is it because I follow the older customs? I take time to enjoy souls unlike demons like you. Souls are something that should be handled with care and just not freely feast upon. You all had souls once too." Veran was just a tad bit pissed with these little demons.

Whoever this 'nemesis' was, they were pretty stupid.

And after he ranted about that, Lizzy stepped up and just began shooting at the higher demon. To his surprise, it was not just a small, weak little bout of energy either. It was quite powerful. Powerful enough to send him flying back.

It had been long since he fought a demon.

As Lazarus leap to protect the house, Veran reached under his coat, pulling the first gun. This specific pistol contained bullets crafted by himself, which were strong enough to injure demons. (He actually test it, it is amazing what you can get done in three years when your master has to sleep for about 8 hours every day).

With a swift aim, he fired three rounds at Lizzy, if they hit with the precision he had, they would at least make her stop firing for a moment...but these were three demons...and he wouldn't be able to handle it all.

Lizzy screamed in pain as the bullets grazed her skin, going through her shoulder and left knee, blood escaping her wounds in a hue of red. "Lizzy!" Lent called, his body crackling with electricity. He began to send lightning bolts towards Veran, the thunder clapping at every spell he sent. "Not so fast!" Lazarus screamed, charging at Lenny and slamming the pipe against his head. Lenny screamed in agony, turning to electrocute Lazarus, only to see the electricity flow through him without any damage besides the darkening of his veins. "Huh?!" Lenny gasped as Lazarus began to slam him back. "Can't kill what's already dead so easily!" Lazarus triumphed, charging again at Lenny. "Lent, do something!" Lizzy called as she began to shoot what could compare to fireworks directly at Veran, and all around, aiming at the outside of the household in hopes of causing as much damage as possible. Lent, the youngest, looked around, facing towards the nearest portion of the house. He took a deep breath, and with a loud, ground shaking shriek, he began to sing, soundwaves ravaging through the ground and straight at the house. Specifically where Alexander stood. "...Oh come on!" He complained, covering himself from any incoming damage. Lucky for him, Wulfric didn't hesitate to jump from the second story window, transforming into his werewolf form on the way down. Once he touched the ground, he quickly howled, his own voice challenging that of Lent's as the ground between them riled up with all kinds of damage. Needless to say, it was chaos.

Veran turned his head to Lazarus and Wulfric. They weren't as useless as he thought. The two were actually fighting along side him like good servants should. Maybe, just maybe he would praise them. Maybe.

This was going to be tough, but nothing he couldn't handle...but these were demons, and they could hurt him way more than a human could.

He pulled a second pistol, only to get hit with Lizzy's blast. Veran turned to run out, very quickly managing to most of the fireworks, until of course one a bit off hit him, and he had to admit, it burned.

His grip tightened on both of his pistols, smirking as his eyes reverted to red, firing shots from both pistols at Lizzy. The shots were continuous, of course one gun carried just normal bullets.

Maybe Lazarus and Wulfric could hold to getting hold of Lenny and Lent.

(okay yes this post sucks)

Lizzy dodged the bullets as she could, dancing in the air as her demon wings flapped in desperation. The pain of the bullets remained regardless, even if they didn't do enough damage to kill her. Pain was pain, even the smallest of amounts. "Darn it! They told is this guy as a level C!" Lizzy complained, raising both of her hands in the air as the tips of her fingers began to glow. "I'm going to blow this place up see if I care what the bosses say!" Lizzy growled, getting ready to shoot once more at Veran, and hopefully to cause any physical damage to the house around him. She began to shoot, however it was cut short as suddenly something sharp flew past her fingers, slicing them up as blood splattered. It must have cut nerves and bone, or both, because the attack was put on halt, and Lizzy let out a painful screech. The knife that flew across was pulled back by a strong, sharp string, only to return to the hands of Alexander, who caught it without a flaw. The string itself could easily be used to slice through skin, it attached to the end of a knife while Alexander manipulated the rest between his fingers. "Veran we don't have time to play games, we have to get rid of these things because our masters return from their play date." Alexander hissed. Lizzy groaned, holding her bleeding hands as they quickly began to heal. "Damn you!" Lizzy yelled, beginning to shoot fire at the two again. Alexander dodged, dashing forward as he threw his knife, the knife spinning around before it wrapped part of the string around Lizzy's leg, where then Alexander pulled with all of his might, applying pressure, which caused it to cut through the skin with disturbing ease. "Take her out, Veran!" Alexander called. Meanwhile- "Damn you! You don't even have blood in your veins!" Lenny whined, dodging as he blocked the metal pipe with his hands, sparks flashing each time they connected. Lazarus didn't hesitate, careful to not trip over his own scarf as he swung it with all of its force, bruising Lenny as he went. "Guess you expected to kill whoever you touched? Well then, keep on electrocuting me, I need all the energy I could get!" Lazarus insisted as he pushed Lenny further. In the background Wulfric and Lent fought in their own way. Lent screamed, sending sonic waves towards Wulfric, who dodged them with incredible agility despite his size. He dashed towards Lent, aiming to take a large bite out of him. Lent quickly raised his hands, grabbing Wulfric's nuzzle and keeping him from eating him alive. "What kind of kid has a werewolf for a servant?!" Lent asked, his voice shaky as he pushed its nuzzle together, shutting it close. He grabbed Wulfric by the nozzle with his arms, gripping it tightly before easily flipping Wulfric over, over himself and slamming him down into the ground beneath him. Needless to say, it was crazy.

"A class C? My...you are young demons." Veran couldn't help but mock, and as Alexander held Lizzy in his grasp, Veran took the chance, and shot the smaller demon in the head twice with his bullets, guarantee to kill the small one.

"Thank you Alexander." he gave a smirk to the other butler, and in a blur, behind the fighting Lenny, Veran's hands brushed against the small demons ear, and a hard metal pressed against it as the small demon froze.

"Excellent job, Lazarus. I was unaware that you could fight so well." Veran spoke over the ring of his gun as a bullet flew into the little demons ear.

"I wouldn't really want to be you right now." he whispered to Lenny, letting out a sigh.

One more.

"What kind of kid has a werewolf as a servant?" his voice rung out.

"Well I must correct you..." with a pull of his arm, Veran easily pulled Lent off of Wulfric.

"She's not a kid...she's a lady." and with the most savage smile, Veran pulled the trigger, releasing his last bullet into the mouth of Lent, dropping the demon.

He let there be silence for a second as he let himself calm down, taking a long sigh. Surprisingly, he was a little beat up.

"Aya choose some good servants, did she not?" he chucked, looking back over to Lazarus and Wulfric.

"I suppose you guys got the party supplies?"

Meanwhile, the female dress had been finished.

"I wonder what Veran and the others are up to..." Aya sighed, looking over to Samael with a small yawn.

And just like that, they were dead. Alexander brought back his garret wires and knives from the corpse, wrapping them up to get them away. "You made a mess." Alexander murmured. Wulfric and Lazarus walked up to Veran. Lazarus rubbed the back of his head as Wulfric sat down and wagged his tail happily. "Yes, we brought the party supplies." Lazarus said cheerfully, looking back at Wulfric. "Come on! Let's go set up the place pretty." Lazarus said, dropping the pipe on the floor and walking inside. Wulfric followed right behind, transforming back into his human self to help Lazarus, though he didn't mind on getting his clothes back on. Alexander held his head. "Alright, Veran. You are the one in a better state. You go and fetch your master and mines. I'll make sure that the boys get everything ready by the time you return." Alexander said as he grabbed one of the bodies by the feet and began to drag it. "I'll also find a place to hide these before properly getting rid of them." Alexander said as he began to walk away. "Hurry now. I bet Aya is missing you." Alexander hummed. Inside Wulfric and Lazarus were decorating the place up to match the happy occasion. Strings and balloons and all of that stuff. It was coming along pretty good. They just needed the party girl.

Samael added the final details to the male counterpart of the dress. He smiled as he glanced over at the clock. It was almost time. "Maybe they're having bonding exercises. Veran could use some friends. Alexander as well." Samael said as he stood up. "How about we head downstairs? I'll get us some tea. Veran must be getting here soon to pick you up. Something sweet you warm your tummy up will help with the wait." Samael said as he smiled and gently took Aya's hand. "A day's work, huh?" He didn't have to worry of the gift. Alexander had it and it was perfectly safe for when it was time to give it to dear Aya.

"It didn't feel like a days work, but it is definitely completed." Aya looked at the outfit as she took Samael's hand.

"It was fun, maybe we can do something like this again?" The Queen hardly ever gave Aya breaks so honestly it would probably be a while before they could do it again.

Meanwhile, at the Everus manor, Veran kept his eye on Alexander.

"You would have caused a mess if you did it." He scoffed at him, Alexander had already walked away through.

Evening was slowly coming upon them. It was time to get Samael and Aya.

---

Veran game to get Aya by carriage, pull it in and inviting himself go inside to Samael and Aya whom were drinking some warm tea, and eating some little sweets.

"I hate to interrupt Lady Aya, but it is about time to get going back to the manor. Samael, would you like to accompany Aya back?" His voice was calm and not full of stress, Veran giving a glance to Samael.

Everything was ready.

Samael smiled. Oh boy! "Yes. I would love to accompany Aya back home." Samael said cheerfully. He entered the carriage with Aya, and could barely contain his excitement. The ride seemed to take forever in Samael's eyes, but they eventually reached the Evarus manor. Samael got out first, helping Aya down as he smiled at Veran. It was time! He walked with Aya to the entrance, and the doors slowly opened...

"SURPRISE!!!" Everyone cheered, Wulfric throwing confetti from the second floor onto the hall below as Aya entered. The place was decorated with colorful decorations such as strings and fabrics and flowers, a table filled with yummy treats and a gorgeous cake, making the place look more cheerful than usual. They had all changed into clean clothes, looking sharp as they clapped for Aya. From another table, a phonograph played a sweet song a background music.

"Happy Birthday Aya!!!" They cheered. Samael clapped right behind Aya, waiting for her reaction, whether it'd be good or bad.

As soon as the doors opened, Aya was greeted with a happy birthday. Her face lit up in a smile as she lay her eyes on everything Lazarus, Alexander, Wulfric and Veran had done.

It was gorgeous, her face was lit up with an accompanying blush, stepping inside a bit further to marvel at what they had been doing.

"You guys have been planning this all day?" she was shocked, and in awe.

"We have. It was not as easy as it looked though." Veran smiled back at his master.

"You're 18 now, and I am unaware as to you last had a proper birthday party." he then gestered to Alexander and the other servants.

"It was Samael's idea, but we would have not been able to had it done without the efforts of Alexander, Wulfric, and Lazarus." Veran's eyes lay on Alexander's.

"You are full of surprises Samael." Aya looked to Samael and pulled him into a quick hug.

"Well, shall we start?" she proposed.

Alexander gave Veran some thumbs up. Wulfric rode the handrail down the stairs as he jumped on his feet. "I didn't knew you were 18, Aya! You look younger than what you are!" Wulfric said. Samael hugged Aya back. If he were a puppy his tail would be wagging endlessly. "Oh this was so impromptu! I only got to know it was your birthday today about a month ago and I realized that we totally had to do something to celebrate it I'm so glad that it all worked out thank you guys so much!" Samael said, thanking everyone for making the birthday possible. Samael nodded at Aya, looking over at everyone and smiling. "Let's get this party started!" Samael cheered, causing Wulfric to cheer along with him just as enthusiastically. Wulfric was quick to come up with a game, dragging a few chairs over to an open space. "Let's play musical chairs!" Wulfric suggested. Lazarus had a blindfold over his head as he had a needle with a string attached to it. "I thought we agreed we would play 'Pin The Tail On the Butler' first!" Lazarus said as he looked over at Veran. "Besides, Veran would end up winning anyways! He's the quickest one out of all of us!" Lazarus chuckled. "If Veran plays musical chairs, then I'll play musical chairs." Alexander said, a hint of competition in his voice as he eyed at Veran. Samael hurried over to the table, picking up a small plum colored box with a gentle pink bow. He walked over to Aya as the guys seemed to be trying to figure out what game to play first. "Aya. This is for you. I made it myself. I-I hope I got the size right." Samael offered, his face flustered as he smiled shyly. Inside of the box was a personalized made ring with a large dragon's breath opal in the middle, gleaming almost magically. "I hope you like it?"

"I know I really don't look it, but I am 18." Aya smiled to Wulfric,

"You are not putting anything on my butt." Veran warned Lazarus.

Then, Alexander proposed a challenge of musical chairs.

"A silly childrens game? Honestly Alexander, I bet I could beat you in anything...but if musical chairs is the game you want to play, then let us ask Aya first...also I would need to have some disadvantage to get on the human level." Veran then turned his eyes to Aya.

Aya, was staring at the ring Samael had proposed to her.

"Y-You made this?" she was speechless. It was gorgeous.

"Samael it is beautiful...I really don't even know what to say." Aya was red in the face, gently taking the ring, admiring it.

Veran had his eyes on the couple, looking at Samael and Aya with a sigh.

Young love, honestly he doesn't remember what it feels like.

As the ring was pulled onto her ring finger, it shined.

"Thank you Samael...so much." Aya dragged him into another hug.

Veran didn't say anything as Lazarus and Wulfric were setting the musical chairs game up, he simply just kept his eyes on the two.

Samael smiled. Aya liked the gift! Good! Samael hugged Aya, not wanting to let go. "I'm happy that you like it, Aya." Samael spoke. He gently placed a kiss on her cheek, and then gently kissed her hand. "Happy Birthday, Aya. May you enjoy many more birthdays forever and ever more." Samael smiled ever so sweetly. The bickering continued, all while Lazarus tried to play his own game, successfully landing the tail on Alexander's butt, much to the butler's dismay. Samael took Aya's hand, leading her to the empty space. "Come on! You can't have a birthday without a birthday dance!" He chuckled, taking Aya for a dance as the classical song, You Always Hurt The One You Love, began to play on the phonograph. Samael began to dance silly dances with Aya, nothing of a ballroom dance nor something you would dance at something formal, but it was fun, and that was more than enough for him.

...

By the end of the party, it was late at night. The cake had been eaten, and so had the treats. Samael had fallen asleep alongside Aya, resting his head against hers. Lazarus was asleep over the table, cake on his face. Wulfric was asleep while hanging at one of the handrails of the stairs. Alexander helped Veran clean up, seeing that the confetti was quite the mess. "I thank you for allowing this party to happen." Alexander said, looking over at Veran. "Maybe we should make a birthday party for you too, Veran. Though with your old @$$, we would run out of space on the cake to put the candles." Alexander joked, chuckling throughout the joke. "...you have a wonderful master. She has made Samael so happy. I truly am thankful that you are watching over her, Veran." Alexander added.

...

Somewhere, in between heaven, hell and Earth, a sentinel of rock fell to the ground, crumbling into pieces beneath the stairs it guarded. Nikolai gently pulled his whip back to his hip, looking around at the fallen guardians of the gates of heaven. They were dozens of the finest creations next to mankind and angelkin. To Nikolai, nothing else but obstacles. He glanced up to the top of the stairs, where a single door stood. Brilliant light brimmed from underneath, so bright it lighted part of the dark stairway even when the door was closed. Nikolai walked up the stairs, his footsteps so gentle they made no noise. As he reached the very top, he did not hesitate to push the door open, the light consuming him, along with everything else.

"Oh father, who art in heaven. I have questions."

"Step in, my son. For I shall have the answers."

"I think about 300 candles, there would be a fire. It wouldn't be the best idea to do that." Veran joked back to Alexander.

He began picking some plates up.

"I would also like to thank you and Samael. She hasn't had that much fun in a long time." Veran looked at Aya, her head resting against Samael's.

"The ring Samael gave her is quite beautiful...but I am not too sure how I feel about it." Veran sighed, stacking the plates.

"She is wonderful...but she has made many bad decisions. One of those bad decisions includes bring me along as her servant." He held the stack of plates in his hand.

"I feel as if these happy days will soon end...my fourth year with her starts tonight." He then turned himself around, going to put the plates up.

~Early the Next Morning~

After Alexander and Veran had cleaned everything up, Alexander brought Samael home and Veran put Aya to bed.

Aya was still asleep and Veran was cleaning downstairs still. As he swept the area for one last time, Veran thought.

The words of Nikolai and the Boogeyman shook his mind. What was in store for his master? What could he do about it? He would not know the answer until he knew the situation.

Lazarus and Wulfric were up and running along with Veran. Lazarus was busy reusing the flowers they used to decorate. They would die anyways, so he used ones that had already started to wilt to make some fertilizer in order to help the plants around the property grow. Wulfric was going to help with that, but his sensitive scent kept him from doing so otherwise. Instead he decided to go run some errands for Veran, seeing that they had used lots of fruit and ingredients for the food yesterday, he would help stack up again so that they wouldn't run out. In through the door came Wulfric, carrying a tower of bags filled with groceries. "I'm home~" Wulfric said as he walked inside and closed the door behind him with his hip. He walked over to Veran, handing him an envelope. "I ran into Catarina while in the town. A letter from the Queen herself." Wulfric said before walking off. Inside the envelope another letter from the queen, and it read as such.

"Dear Aya,

I hope you had a wonderful birthday. Yes, of course I knew. But for now, I have something to ask of you. Some of my associates will be attending a week long cruise on board the luxury ship, the Campania. There, some negotiations shall be made that will bring lots of income into the country, as well as open new routes of trade and companies to invest. I wish for you to attend this cruise and make sure that there are no problems, normal or supernaturalwise. This is very important, and I hope that you understand my worry. With this letter I have included two tickets for first class. You may enjoy this cruise as a birthday gift while doing your work. Two birds with one stone, would you not agree? I thank you in advance. This shouldn't be a hard job.

-Queen Victoria."

...

Somewhere, in the open sea, a thick mist conquered the area, creating darkness even in the sunniest of days. From within the sound of humming and people talking could be heard. A boat soon came into view, the source of the voices.

"A ship ahead!"

"Are you sure?!"

"Yes! It shines as bright as a lighthouse in the horizon!"

"Let us creep up on it. Signal our sister ship that we shall create an ambush! The end is upon us, and we must make sure that we are prepared for it when it comes!"

Within a tattered ship, looking as old as time, yet strong as a brand new one, a ghostly crew worked around the clock. Some looked fully human, while others were missing skin and other things. Others had injuries that could never be healed, for they were already dead. The captain smiled, playing with ancient jewels in his hands, his eyes as green as the emeralds he played with. He sat by the ship's railing, glancing up at the ship with a wicked smile. The black flag flew against the wind, tattered and barely complete, the white skull design still recognizable. The name of the ship still carved, 'Mariposa', it read, a matching carved header standing stall despite the paint disappearing.

"Yo-ho, yo-ho...a pirate's life for me..."

Veran kindly took the letter from Wulfric's hand, reading it silently to himself as he began walking up the stairs to wake up Aya. He had already prepared her breakfast, and it was time for her to wake up. He folded back up the letter with the tickets in hand, then softly knocking at Aya's door. Veran then opened the door.

"We have a trip to go on this morning-- a letter from the Queen came in. I hope you like boats." he placed the letter on Aya's bed.

She rolled over, grabbing the letter while still laying on her side in bed, reading it as Veran drew back the curtains.

"This shouldn't be that hard...." she mumbled, closing up the letter and turning away from the sun again.

Veran sighed at Aya.

"You still need to get up through." he scold.

Aya gave a groan and sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"I already feel older." she complaint to Veran as he picked out some clothes for her.

"Just by a year." he smiled to her as he lay clothes on her bed, helping her get dressed and ready for the day.

After she was dressed, she went down to eat.

"Thank you Wulfric and Lazarus for the party yesterday. I'm sure it was pretty difficult to put together." Aya thanked her other two servants as she ate.

Lazarus, due to his fertilizer being made out of flowers, smelled very sweet, much to his own dismay as it made Wulfric cling onto him like a puppy, just sniffing the scent out of him until he got sick of it. "We are glad you liked it, Aya. Getting it ready wasn't that hard." Lazarus admitted. "Yeah, it was acttually very fun! The only difficult thing was when those demons attacked us!" Wulfric added, clingig onto Lazarus still. "Yeah. Those demons were annoying! One of them tried to kill me with electricity and everything! The other one flipped Wulfric while in his wolf form. But at least the strongest one was distracted by Veran and Alexander, which by the way, worked together better than how they talk to each other." Lazarus chuckled. "Very true! Alexander did this thing with a knife and some strings and then Veran did this thing with the guns! Ahhhh~ I ship them!" Wulfric spoke, not afraid to speak his mind, regardless what was in it. "You have a cruise. I'm jelous. I have never been on a cruise." Lazarus complained, apparently not noticing the fact that they had pretty much told Aya what Veran hadn't about the three little demons.
