Roleplay Kuroshitsuji: Book of Roses

Recommended Posts

Marco watched as Veran's shot hit a gunpowder keg, causing an explosion that sent several of his men flying off their feet and into the water below. "Damn demon." Marco hissed, pointing his sword at him. "If you know what's good for you, you better stay out of this! This is between my brother and I, no one else!" Marco yelled, which only caused for Antonio to howl in laughter at his response. "Excuse you! But he is part of MY crew! If you're going to get salty over the fact that I'm a better sailor than you, then I suggest you hide your tail between your legs and swim back to Portugal while you have the chance!" Antonio teased, but such would only cause Marco to retaliate further. As the two ships became closer, each ship began to throw ropes around the other, tying each other closer before planks were thrown down, creating small bridges between the two ships. And that's when things got crazier. Antonio's men began to board Marco's ship, Marco's men quickly fighting back and defending their post and ship with their lives. Well, what was left of it anyways, considering they were all dead. Arturo himself began to shoot around, his sharpshooting skills never left to be questioned. Even after death his skills never rusted, only getting better. Every shot landing where it needed to. The clashing of swords and sound of gunfire echoed, the scent of smoke and gunpowder all over the air. Of course, the captains weren't going to be missing out. Antonio took hold of a rope, and with a quick slice of another, a bunch of weights fell, lifting the rope and him up into the air. Antonio used the force as he was lifted to swing around, before letting go and falling over to Marco's ship, aiming straight at Marco himself. He lifted his sword, slamming it down as he used the force of the fall to try to kill Marco. Marco quickly pulled out his own sword, along with another one, dual wielding both as he blocked Antonio's midair attack right before it hit. The metal of the swords clashing echoed, creating intangible sparks between them as they glared at one another. "I'm winning this time, Marco." "Bring it on, Antonio." With that, the captain's faced off.

"How are they going to kill each other, aren't they both dead?" Aya kind of mumbled to herself as she ducked a bullet that was aimed in her direction, the guns these pirates had were slow and you could tell where one was aiming before it actually fired.

"Not quite sure...but I know these are working." Veran made the comment, pulling an older pirate up by the collar, and shooting the pirate in the head with a smirk on the demons face, the pirate falling to the ground.

"You could be more graceful..." Aya sighed as Veran leap with ease unto Marco's ship.

"This isn't going to go anywhere." Veran said under his breath as he landed, Aya gripping onto him for dear life.

"Watch out." Aya warned as she looked up, a pirate tried jumping on him, Veran stepping aside as the pirates sword went into the deck, the pirate actually tried stabbing his head....funny.

"Too close." Veran unleashed another bullet, tossing his gun back to Aya.

"You're running out of bullets." Aya warned as Veran kept diminishing the population of Marco's crew.

Aya gave Veran back his now loaded pistol and leaned to his ear.

"You can't let Marco win the fight, I know we are prisoners, but I'd feel safer at Antonio's hands." Aya ordered Veran.

"After his husband shoots me??" Veran laughed, shooting at one of Marco's crew members trying to get across the robes, the pirate falling into the sea below.

"You're supposed to do what I say." Aya sighed as she watched the poor pirate tumble into the sea.

"Now hurry it up before we are stranded in the middle of the ocean!" Aya commanded, Veran nodding without a word as he began fighting the pirates once more.

Marco and Antonio fought against one another, swords clashing loudly as they pushed at each other. The two captains, both dead, both fighting for victory over this battle, whatever it may bring. Antonio slammed down his sword against Marco's blades, pulling out of his gun and aiming it at Marco before shooting at him. It hit, though it didn't do much other than to create a giant hole on his shoulder. "Damn you!" Marco hissed, swinging his swords at Antonio, going after him. After Antonio blocked one of his blades, Marco quickly slashed upwards with the other one, slashing Antonio across the chest, sending him back against the railing in pain. Antonio gasped in pain, gritting his teeth before he threw himself out of the way of Marco's attack, both blades crashing down against the railing where Antonio's head was just a few seconds ago. The world around them didn't exist anymore for them. Just them, and the bloodlust that they had for one another. Antonio shot at Marco, Marco slashing away the bullets with incredible accuracy. Antonio screamed, rushing straight at Marco. Marco smirked, rushing forward at Antonio, before thrusting both of his swords straight through Antonio's chest. "Antonio!" Arthur screamed, his voice echoing across the battlefield. Antonio gasped in pain, feeling the swords go right through and their tips escaping through his back. Marco chuckled darkly, pushing the swords even further to gain a few whimpers from Antonio. "I win." Marco purred. There was silence, before a low chuckle escaped Antonio's lips. Before Marco could question it, he lifted his sword, swiftly swinging it across Marco's neck, and with one movement, slashing Marco's head off as he held him against the railing. Marco's head flew off his shoulders, falling onto the wooden floor below. Antonio quickly pushed Marco's body off him, pulling the swords out with him. "...I win." Antonio declared, before turning back to both crews, throwing his arms into the air. "I WIN!!!" Antonio screamed. Silence...and then cheering, as both sides dropped their weapons and cheered, helping each other up as if they had never fought in the first place. "Dammit." Marco spoke, or at least, his head did, looking up at the sky annoyed. "I was sure that I had it this time."

As Marco's head fell clearly off his body, there was silence through both ships. Antonio had won. Cheers erupted from the crew members, Marco was mad, his head on the ground...talking....right beside her.

Veran stepped to the side as Aya practically crawled up him.

"It was a well fought battle." Veran commented on the rival pirate.

"But I think Antonio did better." Aya gave a laugh, jumping down from Veran's arms and rushing to Antonio.

"Three cheers for Antonio!" Aya proposed as the pirates cheered for their captain.

Veran made his way up to Antonio.

"So Antonio...what do we do when both the ships sink?" Veran's voice rang out, looking at the captain as the ships were slowly descending into the water.

Antonio looked at Veran, tilting his head. "What do you mean when they sink? They've already sunk, Veran! Didn't we tell you when we first met?" Antonio asked as he pulled him to the railing, pointing down. As the water began to pour in, just as suddenly, it began to be pushed back out, the rotten wood slowly sealing itself, covering up the holes and damage from the battle. It was still a rotten piece of a ship, but it was the way it was when it sank with its crew, and that is the way that it would remain. "You can't kill what's already dead." Antonio said as he patted Veran's shoulder. He then proceeded to pick up his brother's head and settle it back on his body. "Better?" Antonio asked. "Better, considering the defeat." Marco said as he brushed dust off his shoulder. "Seriously. What's with you and decapitating heads? Now you bring a demon and a child along with your dangerous adventures? Have you gone insane?" Marco hissed, scolding his younger sibling. "Excuse me for trying to have some fun! Besides!" Antonio said before picking Aya up and hugging her. "We can adopt her!" Antonio said cheerfully. "You can't adopt a living person!" Marco and Arturo reminded him, much to Antonio's dismay. "Fiiiiiine...well you two accomplished your part of the deal, now allow me to accomplish mine." Antonio said as he settled Aya down. "I'll sail you back to England!"

"Please adopt her." Veran kind of involuntarily spoke out.

"I can't be adopted, you technically have the rights to me." Aya informed of him as Antonio set her down.

"Also Captain Marco, I assure to you that I am not a mere child." she smirked, then looking to Antonio.

He was going to send them back to England.

"You are?" Aya was actually a little bit surprised.

"Thank you very much Antonio. I never thought much of pirates, but I think my impression of them has changed." Veran complimented Antonio.

"Expect that to be the first and the last time a demon comments on you." he then added.

Antonio chuckled and nudged at his brother. "See that? A demon complimented me! Add that to the score!" Antonio cheered. His brother rolled his eyes. "Whatever, now do me a favor and get off my ship! I have to fish my men out of the sea before they end up needing to be hung up to dry all night long!" Marco insisted, only to receive a cheerful laugh from Antonio. And so it was done. They bid farewell to Marco, and Antonio and his crew headed straight towards England. By the time they reached the ports of the city, it was late at night, just after midnight most likely, more or less. There was not a soul in sight, the few sailors around dead asleep in their positions or ships that were docked. As their ship docked on a free space, they barely made a noise, helping Aya and Veran get down to the dock as some pirates carried down Aya's belongings carefully. "You guys should be able to handle yourselves from here, I hope." Antonio said with a soft smile, his emerald eyes gleaming even in the darkest of night. "You know. This is the first time I've ever met such a strange pair as you two...but I'm happy to have done so. When all of this bad thing is over, would you like to join my crew again? Marco and I plan on settling the score again eventually?"

"We will see, Antonio, Arturo. Maybe I will come back to your ships one day." Veran waved them off, Aya thanking them once more.

"For pirates, they weren't that bad of guys. Now I want to get home immediately." Aya looked to Veran and smiled.

"Yes, my Lady." He smiled back to her.

They arrived at the manor in no time at all, Veran sighing as he saw Wulfric asleep near the gates. Lazarus had to be somewhere near. After unpacking their things, Aya got treated to a bath and went to bed. Veran had some different plans however.

Downstairs, Veran sat at the desk in his quarters. A single candle lighting his desk, a couple of pieces of paper laid out in front of him, containing multiple drawings and writings. Veran pulled his gun out and place it on the desk, unloading the bullets from it.

"The bullets are already strong enough...strong enough to hurt me. But if we are dealing with a threat bigger than an archdemon...I'm going to have to make these bullets enough to kill an archdemon. I can't test these on myself though...I will just have to be lucky enough to hope they work." Veran monotoned to himself as he stared at one of the bullets of his creation.

"I hate to say it...but I might have to work with a shinigami." He sighed to himself.

The night passed quickly, morning arriving early as Veran made breakfast for Aya, a breakfast that would make up for the meals they got on the pirate ship. He gave the servants their assignments. As the sun shone through the windows of Aya's room and a knock on her door from Veran echoed, another morning had began.

By the next day, it was as if nothing had happened. Everything was normal. Lazarus was taking care of the gardens, watering the plants, while Wulfric was being himself and strolled around the property happily. It was soon that he encountered Nikolai, however, as he stood in front of the property gates with his hands in his pockets. "Mister Reaper! What are you doing here?" Wulfric asked happily. "I am here to deliver something important to lady Aya. She is expecting me." Nikolai insisted. Wulfric hummed. "Ok! I'll escort you back to the manor then!" Wulfric said as he allowed Nikolai in and then proceeded to escort Nikolai into the manor. Wulfric opened the door, not hesitating to yell out. "VERAN, MISTER REAPER NIKOLAI IS HERE TO SEE AYA!" Wulfric yelled, his voice echoing across the estate. He smiled at Nikolai. "Have fun!" With that, Wulfric closed the door and walked back out. Nikolai began to walk over to the stairs, reaching into his pockets to take out a couple of invitations and a couple of necklaces.

Veran opened the door for Nikolai. Aya had heard that Nikolai was here from her office, her walking out of her office and towards the door.

"Do you have the reports...?" she sighed upon seeing Nikolai.

Aya knew that whatever a reaper had for her was probably bad news...especially with what was said on their sad excuse for a cruise. Aya would have to see Samael soon just to check up on him, it's been a couple of days since she last saw him...and honestly she was missing him.

"I can't believe I am inviting a reaper into my house....especially after one saw me in a rather weakened state." Veran kind of rudely muttered to where Nikolai could hear him.

"You won't tell the other reapers about my bullets though...will you? If they know about them, I'm sure they will figure out a way to get them." he then laughed to himself, Aya just kind of giving him a look.

Nikolai waved his hands. "Reports smorpts. I'm a renegade from the Grim Reaper Society. It took me a while to get someone from the inside to get me the copy of what we need." Nikolai said, rather annoyed but just as desperate. "I'll talk to the queen once you get going to the party. Which you will need these." Nikolai said as he raised the invitations and the necklaces. "The invitations will allow you inside, while the necklaces will hide your aura and disguise it to be that similar of a Shinigami. If you don't wear the necklaces you'll be sniffed out before you even get to the entrance." Nikolai insisted as he handed them the invitations and the necklaces. "Both are important, so please keep both at hand at all times until you get to the party. The location of the party is right here." Nikolai added as he handed over a small map of London itself, to reveal that the party was actually being held somewhere in the city. "I suggest that you wear suits or something similar to that, as that is what Grim Reapers wear. Your invitations will have the number of the tables where you will be sitting at. Once you do sit down, my contact Gigermo will show up to hand you over the documents needed. The moment you get them, I suggest you get out of there before anyone gets suspicious of you. Are all of my instructions understood?" Nikolai asked. It was very apparent that he was rather nervous at the upcoming events. Much to be done. So little time.

Aya took the invitations and Veran took the necklaces, the party was...tonight. That was awful soon.

"Thank you for what you can do Nikolai, I appreciate it." Aya thanked him with a curtsy.

Veran tied the necklace around Aya's neck, and put his in his pocket.

"Do not scare the Queen that much please." she then warned Nikolai.

A little bit after Nikolai left, Aya had to change into a longer dress that was more appropriate (though Aya thinks whatever she wears is appropriate anyways). The clothes she wore were incredibly boring in her eyes, Veran fixing up her hair to make the entire look less boring. Veran had to change entirely, finding something he thinks a reaper would wear...which was almost identical to the clothes Gigermo wears...just less...Gigermo and more Veran.
"We are headed to Samael's house. I want to see him before we are off." Aya said calmly, pulling the necklace under her dress as she pulled on some black lace gloves, the two walking out of the manor.

"Wulfric, I hate to have to leave, but we will be back later tonight. We have some business to attend too...please make sure the house is protected at all cost...especially these next few weeks." Aya warned, the two getting in a carriage and heading off to Samael's house.

Wulfric waved at them. "Goodbye Aya! Veran! Good luck and have fun! Say hello to Samael for us!" Wulfric said as he waved. "I will watch over this place with my life!" He assured. Lazarus waved on his own accord, holding a few flowers in his hands as he did so. "There they go again. They're always so busy. It makes me dizzy thinning about it." Lazarus admitted. "I don't like it when they leave." Wulfric admitted. He frowned. "They've been very kind to me. I consider them my friends. I worry for them. I worry that every time that they leave, they won't come back." Wulfric confessed. Lazarus gently rubbed Wulfric's head. "They'll be ok. As long as Veran is with her, they'll be fine." Lazarus assured. Then again, he wasn't always sure of that either.

In the Pandora manor, things were as usual. Samael already had a guest of his own, actually. A lucky bride in which he was adding the finishing touches to her dress. "Hold still lady Brooks. Just one more thing." Samael said as he finished puffing up the veil, gently letting it down. "There we go. Turn around." Samael said. The young bride-to-be turned, her eyes gleaming as she saw herself in the mirror. Her custom wedding dress was complete. "It's better than what I remembered!" Lady Brooks admitted, smiling as she gave a few spins. "Is everything comfortable?" Samael asked. "Yes. It's perfect." Lady Brooks insisted, turning to Samael and grabbing his hands. "Thank you so much! It was so last minute I didn't actually think you would be able to complete it so quickly!" Lady Brooks admitted. Samael smiled. "A wedding is an important event. Anything for the bride-to-be." Samael insisted. Yeah. Just another normal day.

(MMMMMMMMMMMMMHMMMM JUST A NORMAL DAAAAYYYYY)

A knock sounded on the door of the Pandora manor, it was Aya of course.

"Alexander it is us." Aya called to the door, Veran right behind her.

Veran sighed and opened the door, almost slamming it into Alexander's face who was inches from the door.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't really see you there." Veran said in a rather cocky tone, looking to the rival butler.

"We have a party to attend this evening so we are stopping by...I hope that Samael isn't too busy...it seems we always are busy." Aya sighed as he looked to Samael.

Alexander looked like a mess himself.

"You look like you've been busy too~ must be hard being a butler that's not a demon." Aya kind of laughed to him.

"Could I see Samael? We were gone from the cruise longer than expected. It's kind of a funny story."

(HMMMMMMHMMMMM)

Alexander huffed. "Shut your mouth before I douse you in Holy Water." Alexander hissed. Indeed, he looked quite the mess. He had been helping Samael deal with the clients as he always did, help with the garden, help with the kitchen, help with everything around the house, pick up errands and still be around in order to serve tea to the clients as well. Sure, he didn't have demon-like abilities, but darn it, he was good at what he did. "He should be coming down now. He was just finishing up with a bride-to-be." Alexander explained. Just as he did, the client and Samael walked down the stairs, the lady's servant carrying a large box which carried the wedding dress inside. "I wish you both a very happy wedding. Have you decided if you'll go anywhere on your honeymoon?" Samael asked casually. "I think we might take a cruise!" "Oh that's a wonderful idea!" Samael's eyes then landed on Aya, and just like that his day seemed to go from good to great with her presence alone. "I'll bid you farewell now, milady." Samael said with a small bow. The client smiled and nodded, thanking at Samael once more before one of the maids escorted her past Aya and Veran and out of the household to their own carriage. Once the door closed, Samael walked up to Aya. "Hey you two! Long time no see. You've been awfully busy, I see. I heard you went on a cruise, too. That must have been fun." Samael said cheerfully.

"It would have been fun if we weren't almost killed by Ghost Pirates...well we were kidnapped by them!" Aya suddenly boast, not stopping herself from hugging Samael upon seeing him.

"They did almost kill me however." Veran spoke up.

"You almost let them kill you, Veran." Aya laughed some, letting Samael go.

"They were really nice in the end...but we have a new threat. Veran, would you care to explain?" Aya looked to him.

"I probably am not even supposed to be telling you but...a reaper has informed us of something...dangerous approaching. Something only I may be able to stop. There is a lot of stuff on the line...but I might as well just tell you." Veran paused and looked straight at Alexander and Samael.

"The grand seven princes of hell are planning on ending the world...and awakening a giant...who has the potential to destroy the earth. I however am the only demon on earth right now who can stop this...for some reason. The main reason being because most demons...have destroyed their contracts upon learning this. There are certian events that lead to the giants awakening...it being fed enough souls...and being filled with the negative energy that resides in them." Veran's eyes traced to Aya, them as red as ever.

Her soul was exceptionally filled with negative energy...tempting.

"The alignment of the planets it the second event, and the last event being the awakening of the Four Horsemen of Death. If the supernatural do not intervene, then our planet is doomed. We will have to kill the horsemen before they are awaken, and I think that is the only chance we have to stop this...unless the giant awakens before then. I cannot stop the decisions other demons make, and I cannot stop the planets from running their course, but I can stop the Four Horsemen of Death." Veran's eyes turned to Samael now.

"Me and Aya are headed to a party tonight to meet with the Reapers...we will be hidden under a reapers aura, that is why our appearance is so. We will be getting the profiles on the Horsemen tonight...I hope." Veran let out a long sigh.

"I hate my job." Aya added to her statement.

Samael and Alexander listened to this, their jaws dropped as they stared at the two and then at each other and then back at the pair. "...Of course." Alexander mumbled, throwing his hands into the air. "Of course crap like this happens! Honestly, all of the very bad things seem to happen ever since we even got to meet you! All you do is bring bad luck around you like a dammed charm!" Alexander said, obviously anxious about the news. The end of the world? Now that was something scary. Especially considering it was something that he couldn't do anything about. Samael shook his head, turning to Alexander as he raised his arms towards him. "I-It's ok Alexander! Veran and Aya got this covered!" Samael insisted, though Alexander seemed very much not believing that these two could do anything about it. Samael turned to Aya and Veran, worry reflecting in his eyes. "The seven princes of hell...The four horsemen too, I've read about such things in my books, but never did I expect for any of it to actually be real. Then again, I should have figured that after meeting Veran, everything could be real." Samael said with a frown. "Such heavy burdens have fallen upon your shoulders, have they not, Aya?" Samael walked closer, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her tight. "Well, it just means you were chosen for a reason! To have survived what you have done, and to be with Veran, and to have gone through all of this, it's obvious that you are destined for something great, and maybe that is saving the world!" Samael said, trying to be cheerful of the situation. "Heh. The queen would be impressed, that's for sure." Samael then leaned over, gently kissing Aya's forehead before letting go. "You have lots of allies by your side. Even Reapers. You'll be able to do this. I know you can." He reassured.

As soon as Alexander started raising hell (pun not intended), Veran just sneered at him.

"Did you really think I could have predicted this would happen?" He asked rather rudely to the other butler.

A light blush had taken Aya's face as Samael gently kissed her forehead, Aya looking up to him.

"I hope that me and Veran will be able to figure it out...and stop the apocalypse before it actually happens." Aya said softly, then looking to Alexander.

"Please take care of Samael the best you can, Alexander. He is precious to me and I don't know what I would do if anything were to happen..." Aya stated sincerely.

"It's almost time for us to go sadly..." Veran informed, checking his watch.

Alexander scoffed softly, about to give a sassy response to Aya before being stopped by a glare from Samael, which prompted him to do otherwise. "Of course I will." Alexander said calmly, getting his arms behind his back. "It's my sword duty to take care of him." Alexander said, before thinking to himself, "(He is very precious to me too.)" It pained him. It truly did. To see the Samael he had grown up with and come to love someone else, someone he couldn't compete with. But, as long as he was happy, he convinced himself, he was happy as well. Samael smiled and looked up at Veran. "I know you're going to do it anyways, but I will tell you; keep Aya safe, Veran. Even if its the end of the world, make sure she remains safe on your watch." Samael asked, sincerity in his voice. It scared him. The end of the world? That was scary. But if someone could possibly fix such a problem...Aya and Veran could. "When you finish saving the world, I'm going to take you to a well deserved vacation, Aya! No missions, no queen, no supernatural trouble!...I'll be waiting for you."

"As long as our contract is in place Samael, I will guarantee her safety. I'm sure the vacation will be a well deserved one after all this mess..." Veran assured Samael.

"I'll have to see you soon Samael. Have a good rest of the day." And with that, Aya had bid him farewell.

Veran helped Aya get back into the carriage, and they began riding it to London.

It took Veran and Aya a while to get through the streets and where they needed to be. And even when they knew where they were headed, an entry with her carriage would be far too extravagant. Veran had the carriage dropped off at a nearby stable, and the two then walked to their destination.

"I hope these necklaces do hide our auras...especially yours. I'm just hoping the information we need is there so we can ensure that the giant will not awaken." Aya said in a hushed voice, the two approaching a building.

It's wasn't too extravagant. It was about the thing she suspected from a couple of Grim Reapers.

"Here we go..." she took a deep breath before then entering the building.

This was one of Veran's worst nightmares. Being surrounded by Shinigami.

As they entered, something seemed to stop them before they moved on. It was a tall figure, wearing black and its face covered, the only visible thing being the white, glowing eyes within the shadows of the hood. It extended its hand, asking for the invitations. Once he was handed the invitations, the creature took a look at them for a moment before stamping them with a red mark, handing them back to them and stepping to the side, allowing them inside. The inside was rather...cheerful. It wasn't as extravagant as the parties that nobles threw, but more simple. They were all in uniform, talking to each other and chatting away, multiple languages from all around the world being spoken back and forth, the different branches merging together for the first time in forever and having an actual break. There were only drinks being served, however. No food or appetizers. There were tables all around, decorated with simple white cloths and numbers sitting on them, numbering the tables for those who were invited. It was overall...a very cheerful atmosphere. Their assigned contact, a handsome young man by the name of Gigermo sat on one of the tables, seemingly reading a book. His eyes gleamed as they looked up, eyes meeting with Aya and Veran. He recognized them from Nikolai, and waved at them. "Long time no see. Por aqui." Gigermo waved.

Veran and Aya sat at their designated seats beside Gigermo.

"Es ist schon eine Weile in der Tat." Veran responded in flawless German.

"Ja..." Aya just kind of muttered back, observing the party.

This was not like she had expected it to be.

All these people had killed themselves and collecting the souls of people who die everyday. They were the complete opposite of Veran...but they were so laid back and it seemed like they knew more about the world than Veran knew.

Of course these Shinigami were on earth aging and Veran was in hell.

"This is a rather unusual setup. I would have imagined something more professional." Aya said lowly to Veran and Gigermo.

"The files will be presented here I assume...? After the party officially starts I guess?" she then asked seriously, sitting up some, Veran preparing himself a drink even though it wouldn't affect him at all. He just needed something to get his mind off of all these reapers around him.

Gigermo frowned, lowering his book, which ironically was about the history of the inquisition. "Yes. It should start soon, actually." Girgemo spoke, though there was a tint of sadness in his voice. "There are many Shinigami, therefor the parties are being hosted all around the world in order to accommodate everyone." Gigermo explained as he drank from his glass. "Simple is better. We Shinigami have no need to eat, drink or sleep. We have no needs of having anything too fancy. The moment this party is over everyone is meant to go back to work again." Gigermo said as he looked around the party. Things were about to start, people beginning to take their seats. He pulled over to Veran, pulling on his uniform and whispering into his ear. "Veran, I am warning you now before it happens. Make sure to keep Aya from standing out when they present the files." Gigermo asked. It was a warning, foreshadowing that he had known long before and simply did not have the heart to speak of it. All he could do was cooperate, and brace himself. It would be one hell of a ride. Soon everyone quieted down, an elderly Shinigami walking up as he raised his glass. "A drink for all of us, Shinigami, who have been working hard since the day of our deaths, in order to keep the world moving for the long awaited day of reckoning." The Shinigami spoke, everyone clapping as they tipped their glasses. The elderly Shinigami cleared his throat as he fixed his glasses. "Now then, I know that you all have been anxious to know who the four Horsemen will be this time around, but I think now is the time to let such worries to rest now." He spoke, the room now speaking up in excitement. The Shinigami pulled up a couple of folders, opening them up as he cleared his throat. "The Horseman of War this year is, Alexiei Handsworth, currently ten years of age and the son of a Royal Knight." The began, some people muttering, commenting of how young such a Horseman was. "The Horseman of Famine is Margarine Jacobs, currently 25 years of age, a nun residing in St. Paul's Cathedral." He spoke. More murmuring. This time of how ironic that one of the Horsemen was a servant of god himself. How they pitied them. "The Horseman of Pestilence is...Charles Evarus." The man spoke, the name alone surely sending shivers down Veran and Aya's spines. And yet, Gigermo prepared himself, gripping at Veran's arm tightly for the worst to come. "And finally the final horseman, the Horseman of Death, who is...Samael Pandora."

Veran's eyes looked at Gigermo with a glint after he expressed his warning. Gigermo knew something bad...something he couldn't tell Aya about.

Not before long..the names of the Hoursemen were being listed out. Veran made sure to memorize the first two and all information given about them. The last two however had Veran's eyes turned to Aya within a millisecond. Charles Everus. That name just made Aya shiver. Her hands were already beginning to shake under the table just because she was going to have to kill all these people. She would have to face her uncle again. However...when the last name was called, Veran's heart sunk, and Aya turned at least two shades paler than she was before. Her breathing seemed to stop and her eyes were looking at Veran, as wide as he had ever seen them. Her heart raced, a hand clumsily reaching out for Veran.

Veran pulled his hand away from Gigermo, grabbing onto Aya's. Veran's eyes glanced at Gigermo.

"Send the profiles of who we are looking for to Nikolai." He commanded in a voice that was almost a whisper.

Abruptly, Veran left his chair and pulled Aya out of her chair, shielding her from the crowd as he quickly kind of dragged her out of the building.

Veran walked away from the building and turned a corner, ripping the necklace off of his neck and throwing it.

"Aya. Breathe. Just breathe for a second." Veran demanded, his hands on her shoulders.

Her hands imminently came up to her face and she let out a very shaking breath, her eyes suddenly full of tears, and she just starting bawling. Veran wrapping his arms around her as they stood there.

"This isn't okay." He then said quietly.

"I'm bringing you back to the manor." Veran picked Aya up easily, him holding her close to his body as she still sobbed.

They both just felt empty as they traveled back to the manor with Veran's speed.

This was not okay.

Gigermo frowned, the crowed too busy to notice their sudden absence. Not that it would matter. They were all already dead...whether this world lived on, or perished to start anew, the shinigami would always end up living on, ironically. Wulfric didn't have to wait to see Aya to know something was off. He could already sense it. As he watched Veran speed into the property with Aya in his arms, it only confirmed his suspicions. "Veran! What happened?!" Wulfric asked as he hurried over from the gardens. Something was wrong. It wasn't that they were physically hurt, nor that they felt in danger...it was as if they were vases that had been broken. Empty. Hollow. Useless. For the first time he felt as if both of them were simply...unprepared. Whatever had happened. "Inside." Wulfric spoke, following Veran into the inside of the manor. Wulfric was quick to close the door behind them, locking it before hurrying to Veran and Aya's side. Lazarus was already coming down the stairs, four manila folder files in his hands. "Veran, Aya, that shinigami guy dropped these in here and ran off...what the hell happened?" Lazarus asked, finally realizing that both of them looked emotionally like crap. Wulfric hushed him. "They're letting out sorrows." Wulfric said simply, before hurrying over to the kitchen to get Aya a glass of water. Lazarus walked down to them, holding the files in his hands. "...is it really that bad?"
