If the thousand year door hd becomes a thing...

Posted

what system do you think it'll be on? the wii u, or the NX even though we don't know much about the system

also, I know it's "useless" to sign petitions that are directed at Nintendo, but if we want the remake/remaster to happpen, the least we can do is try to get nintendo to listen to us and one of them is signing petitions, so please sign this if you are a paper mario fan and if you want to see a paper mario the thousand year door in color splashes graphics. https://www.change.org/p/nintendo-let-s-get-paper-mario-the-thousand-year-door-remastered

If it ever does become a thing (which is highly unlikely), it's definitely going to be on the Nintendo NX. The Wii U is on life support right now.

Even if it happens, I still have the original. I don't see the need of getting a game that I already have just for the silly HD graphics.

Besides! I only played the N64 and GC Papers Mario games.

Don't forget that the creator of color splash said that she'd remake TTYD if there is enough support for it by the fans

Really? well then, it'd definitely be on the NX if it ends up happening... because Color Plash is the only major Wii U exclusive title coming out for the winter.

People want the remaster not just because they want an hd remaster, it's because it could bring the series back to its roots.

But it would be the same game. In HD. If there is nothing new then I don't see the need of paying the price of a full "new" game when some already have the original. If there was something truly different enough for the game to be a remake then that's fine, but if it's a remaster only for the graphics then I don't like it.

If you want to go back to the roots then play the original, or download it in the virtual console (don't know if it currently possible since I don't have a WII U, sorry).

Personally, I never liked to get a remaster of games I already have just because they get the HD treatment, not even Ocarina or Majora's on 3DS, and I love those games!

okay I see your opinion, but even if it's just the same game in HD, people will still by it. I m one of those people. If nintendo remasters TTYD they will get reminded that the paper mario series was originally an traditional rpg series because you know... they said that the paper mario series is an action adventure video game if you watched the one of the nintendo directs a few months ago. It'll also remind nintendo that this is the kind of game people wanted for the paper mario series and the first paper mario game established it.

People want the remaster not just because they want an hd remaster, it's because it could bring the series back to its roots.

The Paper Mario series lost its roots because Nintendo had two Mario RPG series. The Mario and Luigi series and Paper Mario. Nintendo decided to make Paper Mario the more experimental one out of the two to differentiate it from Mario and Luigi, but as a consequence, made the Paper Mario series worse.

I'm completely supportive and down for Paper Mario HD remaster, I just don't think it'll change the current predicament of the Paper Mario franchise.

Right, if it does happen the fans will most likely complain that Nintendo changed one thing about the game and won't buy it because of that change.

Nintendo fans wanted a new Starfox game that played like Star Fox 64 made by Platinum Games, and when they got just that they complained and didn't buy it because "bad graphics" and "forced motion controls" ruined the game.

Sure, those were variables that affected StarFox, however, you cannot deny the fact that StarFox Zero is a remake of the original StarFox which got remade on the Nintendo 64 which then got remastered for the Nintendo 3DS. StarFox Zero failed because it was a rehash of a game we already have.

Like you said, Nintendo fans wanted a new StarFox. New in the context of different not simply in the context of another installment.
