Okay, so I just watched Kingsglaive with my brother and afterwards we were talking about connections between other FF worlds.
At some point a connection was drawn between FFVII and FFX so we were thinking what if FFXV and FFVIII were some how related.
In Final Fantasy VIII, there is apparently an item called 'the Ring of Solomon' which carries the definition of and looks like this
'Legend goes that it was a ring that belonged to a royal family'
Now if you look at the Ring of Lucii, Heirloom to the Royal Family of Lucis
You can see both rings are inexplicably similar.
Furthermore for those who watched Kingsglaive, the environment of Insomnia just reminds me of a city resembling Galbadia and Esthar. Especially at the signing ceremony - those fireworks were extremely reminiscent of FFVIII's general environment.
Plus in the recent FFXV news, it was revealed that Noctis and gang gain magic by 'drawing' from certain points which refill your stockpool of magic. This is quite reminiscent of the 'drawing' of magic from FFVIII from certain drawpoints.
I'm sure as more news comes out, more connections can be made.
We're not drawing conclusions here but just possible connections.
