  9. Dean shook his head as he stopped at a red light, using the time to look at Castiel, who seemed curious. His eyes were tearing him apart, trying to assess him. He felt his past exhaustion weighing down his head in the form of a dull ache. He didn't want to seem annoyed however, not while Castiel looked so excited for the play. Dean froze at his question however. It was true, he enjoyed Shakespeare, but he never truly had told anyone. Everyone had just assumed he felt the same about it as all other young high school students. Saw it as stupid, unintelligible language that they were forced to learn. It was the exact opposite however. Dean thoroughly enjoyed most all of Shakespeare's work. He couldn't have ever fathomed the idea of going to see some of the plays live. "Um," Dean cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head, "I read them back in school you know? It was part of the curriculum. Romeo and Juliet; while it's great is passed off as the 'greatest love story of all time' by the public, it's just simply a love story. There are so many other stories out there just waiting to be turned into novels and such. So many other people's stories could be turned into something like Romeo and Juliet, but they're just overlooked. Bypassed by something a great playwright just happened to write down. Yeah, Romeo and Juliet is awesome, but Sally and Jim could be just as good you know?" Dean froze, he didn't mean to go that much in depth about his opinion, he cursed to himself. He had rambled and his words probably made next to no sense. Damn it.
  10. Update: I suck at making things, but at least it tastes good so far. Now just gotta freeze.
  11. Dean could almost laugh at Castiel, the way he was practically prancing out to the car. He truly was excited. Whether it was seeing a Shakespearean play, or spending some time with Dean, or even both. Dean couldn't help but smile as his heart warmed at the sight. He could even call the angel adorable. Suppressing another grin as Castiel flew into the passenger seat, he started up the Impala. The familiar engine of his beloved car purring as it was feed the cheap gasoline. The sound was soothing to Dean, no matter what mood he happened to be in. While he was driving, Castiel explained to him different things about Shakespeare and his various plays. Some Dean knew, other things were completely new to him. Dean was abruptly reminded of just how old Castiel was. To him, Shakespeare's era probably felt like last week. Focusing on the road, Dean couldn't afford distractions at the moment. He was already feeling like ass, it wouldn't be pleasant to crash the car and get sent back to the hospital to be groped. He let Castiel's voice comfort him however. "Cas, which one are we going to see? Is it one of the big ones? Please don't tell me it's Romeo and Juliet, that's the epitome of chick flicks." He felt that that particular work was highly overrated. Though he told himself he didn't care which play it would he, deep down he hoped it would be Macbeth. It had been one of his favorites in school though he'd never admit it. He suddenly found himself growing more excited. Castiel seemed to be one that would not pass judgement on him for being a slight nerd. That had always been Sam's game. His dad would have smacked him out for a week if he had requested to go to a play.
  12. Dean was wary about going to see a play, that seemed to be more Sam's thing than any. While it was true that he secretly enjoyed the works of Shakespeare, ironic that he had been a prophet, his dad had trained him to keep his mind off of such things. The theater didn't matter in the world of a hunter. However, Castiel's smile lit up as he began to speak of it. Dean somehow knew that this was something the stoic angel was very passionate about. The utter wonder and fascination on Castiel's face mentioning Shakespearean plays was enough to make Dean crack. He wanted to see Castiel happy for once, and hell, maybe he might enjoy it himself. Though his face perked at the mention of 'best pie in the state'. There wasn't much else better than a double cheeseburger and a slice of cherry pie.
