  1. After being healed by Yuki, Nathan sat up slowly and remained silent. He then heard Asher coming over and having a go at him for almost dying. Nathan was still quiet, making things feel almost eerie being around him. Getting to his feet slowly, Nathan looked back at Tristan, staring at him with no ill will intended. "... You're wrong you know. You think you know what kind of person I am, but you don't... It's true, those people you talked about were awful, but don't lump me together with people like that." Nathan turned his back on Tristan, walking towards the edge of the building, looking down at the street below. "... I'm going to talk to Nora and then we'll leave. It's obvious we're not welcome in your group." Nathan then dropped from the building, using his powers to slow down his descent before landing on the floor gently. "She probably doesn't want to talk to me after all of that... Well, that's fine. After I ask her for a favour, I'll make sure she doesn't see me again." Nathan put his arms in his pockets and walked towards the large group, making sure to put on his least threatening expression. Even being only ten feet from the group, he could already feel the hostility towards him for fighting Tristan. "I guess I deserve that... Nora. Have you got a minute to talk? If you can, I'd like you to make some weapons for me and Asher, after that, we'll be heading South." Nathan averted his gaze, still feeling defeated from the battle as his voice was genuinely humble to all who heard it. "It sounds like you're going after the trials for some reason, so the two of us will clean up the ones you miss. Anyway, if we can just get two desert eagles and two swords, we'll be on our way." Nathan reached into his pocket and took out the crystal he'd received from Warthyp, feeling the power still coursing through it. "I never activated this one just in case I might need it... Guess not." Nathan then held out the crystal in front of him, offering it to Nora. "Consider it payment for the weapons you're about to make us."
  2. Yeah, Maxwell would probably be weak against water users too, so I can see him being defeated by Tristan now that he has control over the four elements. I get the feeling that Tristan's endgame power might involve controlling radiation. If so, we're all screwed.Anyway, it 4:15 AM here, I'm tired and I'm gonna call it a night. See you guys later~!
  3. Nathan can't control light, but he can potentially put an end to it. So just like how Maxwell would beat Nathan because of his power, Nathan would beat Yuki because of the way their powers work. Now if we had Yuki and Maxwell fight, that would be slightly more interesting to see as neither of their aspects tie into each other.
  4. Oh yeah. Besides this. This is the only exception for light being affected by gravity.
  5. -_- Hmmm~... Well it's true that photons are unaffected by gravity, but I don't think turning it into armour would really work. It's like you're trying to tell me that everything that allows you to see can become a shield for Yuki. It just doesn't make sense to be honest. I can understand beams as attacks of course because of the intensity of the heat that is generated from light, but light itself is essentially harmless. Of course, this is looking from a scientific stand point.
  6. Well, yeah, you have a good point. But that doesn't mean that Nathan is completely helpless against Maxwell. I mean, I'm still positive Maxwell would win, but Nathan could still fight back by manipulating the environment as well as the strength of his own body. Also, I still have a trick that I've been wanting to use that will actually make Nathan undefeatable in a fist fight.
  7. Okay. If it were actually me in Nathan's shoes, then I would be amazingly grateful. But you see, here's the thing... Nathan's an asshole. I designed him as an asshole. He ain't gonna give respect to nobody, especially if they belittle and pity him while "helping" him. He's the bad guy. Doing wrong things for his own reasons. Yeah, Maxwell is probably a bad match up for Nathan due to his speed. Yuki however would be roughly an even fight with it slightly in Nathan's favor due to how gravity can be used.Anyway, with your answer being power corruption, I'd say you're half right and as a reward, I shall fill you in on the other half. You see, as Nathan's back story involves feelings of loneliness, hatred and envy as well as verbal, physical and psychological abuse, Nathan has slowly developed a little thing called schizophrenia. Now, the reason this has not surfaced before entering The City is because he was never put into a position that would ruin his passive attitude in the real world. Everything was easy. He never lost. But, since entering The City, his mind began to process all of these new experience which included the stress of having to deal with a stronger opponent. That's where "the voices" and the "hallucinations" come in. With Nathan's calm demeanour being shattered by the stressfulness of having actual pressure being put on his shoulders, his sub-conscious starts to take over slightly. The stronger the opponent, the louder and clearer these voices and hallucinations become. Now, as to what just happened, Nathan just experienced his very first "loss" in his life. To have actually been defeated by someone else at something, his mind has become twisted slightly, forcing him to "need more power" as it were in order to find some sense of control. Of course, I'm not going to make that Nathan's only reason for wanting power. He has also has a reason that is... Reasonably sane.
  8. Respect after? After that pun? No way.
  9. It began when he received his powers.
  10. Wrong on all three, but good try. I'll give you a hint if you'd like.
  11. Now when did I say Nathan had split personality? It could be any number of things~... That I have yet to tell about, not even mentioning Nathan's "actual back story".
  12. Nathan stared at the roof of the building, his body unable to move even slightly from the intensity of the damage he had received. His gaze was dull as he could only see the broken white coating of the office room's roof. "I can't move... I can't lift a finger... I can't even open my mouth to talk... Not that I'd want to say anything anyway. What's this I feel on my lip? ... Oh, it's my blood... Great, I'm bleeding out from every part of my body. My left arm will probably never move naturally again. But for some reason, that's not what really hurts... Not even my lungs filling up with my own blood which is sure to choke me to death in the next few minutes unless I get healed. No... What hurts more than anything right now, is this feeling in my chest..." Nathan's gaze went from the roof to where Tristan was, now healed by Yuki's powers. "... I lost... I actually lost... I don't think this has ever happened to me before... It hurts... This isn't what was supposed to happen... And it makes me angry just thinking about it. But still... Why did I have to lose to him of all people?" Nathan's body continued to bleed out, a pool of blood gathering around his body. He just barely managed to cough, a gush of blood spewing forth from his mouth. "I can't believe I'm actually going to die in this place... Just when I finally found a way to show everyone what I'm made of. To become the best of the best... What a joke... There's no point to getting power if you're only going to lose in the end anyway. What a let down. Maybe I should have just never tried and that way I never would have lost. I might have been able to become even stronger than what I am now if I hadn't tried so hard at winning." Nathan's eyes flickered, the environment around him becoming blurry. "They say that before you die, you see your life flash before your eyes. If there's a chance anyone can hear me, then would you mind skipping that part? I really didn't like my childhood all that much." Nathan slowly shut his eyes, feeling like he was going to die alone and helpless. "Why would they save me? I'm the enemy. They'll probably just leave me to die and go on their stupid adventure. Guess I'll be seeing you soon then... Stark." Nathan felt his body go cold, the darkness in his mind seeping in slowly, when all of a sudden, he could feel a whisper brush against his ear. "I'm not done with you yet, weakling! I will not allow you to die! You have so~ much potential! And I'm going to squeeze every last drop of it out of you! So... GET UP!!!" Nathan's remained unmoving, but his eyes suddenly flashed open terrified, look of fright scarred his face. Someone wanted Nathan alive and he was not looking forward to meeting the person who had just scared him from joining the underworld. "... I can't die... I can't die... I can't die... If I die, then this body will become a host for him... I don't care what I have to, just don't let me die!!"
  13. Nathan's eyes widened as he was met by Tristan's sudden outburst, his body being flung from one direction to another. After exerting so much of his strength, Nathan was using whatever was left of his strength to defend himself, but it all seemed useless in light of Tristan's newly acquired powers. "Everything he said... It all makes sense when you look at it from a third person's point of view... But if I try to put myself in his shoes, then I just don't understand... How can he move on from something like that? It doesn't make any sense. Living for other people... What a hopeless dream... Something like that... Will only leave you empty inside..." After Nathan's body finally ceased bouncing around, he hit the ground hard, blood splattering around him. Looking up at his opponent, Nathan could barely believe that this was the same person he had been fighting with just moments ago. "Damn you... You actually are stronger than I expected... But even still..." Nathan's body ached with pain, his left arm slowly becoming a heavy burden for him as he began to struggle back to his feet. "It's because you've told me something like that... That I have to defeat you more than ever." Nathan stood up straight, watching Tristan's every move blood clouded his vision slightly before closing his eyes. "He thinks he knows me... He thinks he knows what I'm fighting for... But he's wrong." Nathan clasped his right hand into a fist, opening his eyes to shoot off a death glare at Tristan. "You don't know anything about me you brat. Want power?! You fool! It's not about what I want, it's about what I need! I need more power! And I'll do whatever it takes to get it. If I can get the power that I desire, I'll devote every fibre of my body to get it! Don't think that you can compare to me some selfish rich kid because I desire power!!" Nathan began pulling his strength together, feeling a gravitational burden over his entire body and causing the floors and walls around him to crumble and shatter as he did so. "I am going to end you and attain more power! If I do that, then maybe one day... SOMEONE WILL FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I AM ALIVE!!!" Nathan pulled back his right arms and then shot it out in front of him, yelling as he released all of his remaining power in order to crush Tristan once and for all.
  14. Breathing heavily from his repeated attacks and being forced back by Tristan's attacks, Nathan could already feel his low stamina beginning to effect him. "Damn it! Anytime I use my power, it drains my stamina in seconds!" Nathan's mind was slowly regaining its composure but not before Tristan unleashed his three-layered attack. Nathan stared, his odds at being overwhelmed were slowly escalating as his mind strategised over and over until he came to a sudden conclusion. "A sword... I need a sword... No..." Nathan glanced down at his left arm, biting his lip. "This will do..." Looking back at the quickly approaching walls, Nathan raised his left arm straight out in front of him, keeping all of his fingers pointing directly ahead. He then placed his right hand on his arms in order to stop it from moving. "Why... More than anything... Does my power keep harming my own body?!" Nathan then activated his power, causing the gravity on either sides of his arm to slam together, turning his arm into a type of blade. However, at the same time, Nathan's entire left arm was being crushed from both sides, cracking and even breaking his bones apart. Nathan screamed out in pain, running forward in order to focus his pain into anger. "I WILL NOT BE BEATEN BY SOMEONE AS CHILDISH AS YOU!!!" Nathan swiped his left arm though the three walls as he ran forward, bending the earth, lava and fire around him. After the walls had passed, Nathan's left arm dropped down in front of him, leaking with blood. "You... Someone like you who will sacrifice everything they are for someone else..." Nathan walked forward and grabbed Tristan by the throat, holding against the wall with his power. "You make no sense in this world! It's only natural to care about yourself first!! It's your first born nature!! So tell me why?! Why do you go so far out of your way to help other people that you don't even know?!" Nathan's eyes flickered between rage and confusion, unable to understand what it was that drove Tristan to fight. "You're afraid of people like me, aren't you? I'll admit it, I only do things if it somehow profits me, but so what?! Who are you to judge what's right and wrong?! You can't possibly understand what I've been through to make me want to seek this power! I need it! To crush pathetic imbeciles like you!!" Nathan then tossed Tristan to the ground, grunting as he felt a surge of pain in his left arm, holding it slightly. "You're just a no one... A loser... The world wouldn't even notice if you died... The fact that you were given your powers..." Nathan held up his right arm before closing his fingers into a fist. "... Was a mistake!!" Nathan then threw yet another punch at Tristan, channeling most of his remaining power into his fist, and released a force that began to force Tristan down on to the ground.
  15. Nathan back pedaled from his current position, his smile lighting up once again as he dodged Tristan's rock spears. "You've learnt some new tricks, but I can assure you..." Nathan then chuckled as he held his hands out to the side, jumping backwards through the air. "... that they all pale in comparison to the powers that I have acquired!" Nathan's body floated through the air in an almost gentle manner as the fire tornado approached him before he was suddenly pulled by his own powers through the spiral and straight towards Tristan. Nathan completely disregarded the burn marks that were appearing across the skin of his arms, his mind only focused on defeating Tristan no matter what. Rushing towards him, Nathan pulled his fist back and punched forward, a powerful shock wave blowing Tristan back slightly. "Come on! Is that all you got?!" Nathan's feet made contact with the ground as he continued his assault, extending his palms in front of him to push Tristan back using his gravity. "This is boring... Nathan, are you really going to let this guy let you down this much? Just when you thought you found someone who could actually rival you... This is no different from the other world, is it? You're just too strong for your own good." Nathan ceased his assault on Tristan for a brief moment, holding his hand to his fore head. "No... Get out of my head..." Nathan's facial expression changed completely from playful to enraged. In his eyes, the boy with the blonde hair that had plagued his mind was now standing beside Tristan, taunting Nathan. "You know Nathan, don't you think this guy is a lot like me? He's got the right personality. He fights for the right reasons while you're simply selfish and will only fight for yourself. That's why you hate him, isn't it? His whole demeanor makes you sick. Someone who will do anything for others against someone who will do nothing for others. I wonder, can you triumph while fighting alone?" Nathan grit his teeth together, clenching his hands before directing fists filled with rage towards Tristan. "JUST SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!!!!"
  16. Hurrying into the next district, Nathan could not contain his excitement as he ran through the streets with Asher in tow. "It should be around here somewhere..." Nathan turned a corner before quickly jumping back behind the corner, stopping Asher as well. "There's a large group of people down the street." Nathan hugged the corner of a large building and peered out into the street, trying to see who was down there. "Okay, there's at least seven people down there." Squinting his eyes as much as possible, Nathan tried to see if he could recognise anyone in particular. "... I think I see Nora and Chester... They were with me before I appeared at that coffee shop. Other than those two, I don't think I recognise anyone e-..." Nathan paused, a smirk creeping up on his face as his eyes widened mischievously. "It's him. That fire user that I met way back when. Finally, I can teach him a lesson!" Nathan went back around the corner and put his hand to the wall of the building he was next to. "Asher, there's a good chance that if you keep looking around, you'll find another trial. You can choose to either keep this group preoccupied or go find another crystal to become stronger. Either way, I'm going in to finally get my sweet satisfaction." Nathan stuck himself to the wall, walking up to the edge of the wall, looking down at the street below with a laugh. "Well, see you later my underling!" Nathan then stepped off the wall, his body flying down the street horizontally as if he were falling from the sky. What happened next was too unexpected for anyone to react to. As Nathan came falling down the road, he managed to tackle Tristan and send him flying with him, separating him from the large group. "Hey! You remember me!" The two then flew through the window of an office building, at least a mile off from where the group was. Getting back to his feet slowly, Nathan chuckled and clicked his neck. "I've been looking for you. I hope you've gotten stronger than when we last me because if you haven't, then this won't be interesting at all!" Nathan's whole demeanor began to change once again, nearing an almost psychotic state of mind. "Yes... That's it Nathan, give in to this hunger for power and crush this fool who dared to oppose you!"
  17. Nathan x Asher is not cannon. XDI don't even think Nathan is capable of even expressing love in the first place.
  18. We all know that Asher is going to end up like Grell from Kuroshitsuji and Nathan will be like "I was only using you the whole time, get a grip."
  19. I will not allow anyone to steal my girl from me!
  20. Yeah, probably. That, and we'd probably fight over who gets to be friends with Nora.N: But I saw her first!T: But I'm nicer!*the two continue arguing*Something like that.
