“Settle down students, settle down!” Walking out onto the stage was the Principal of Chisei Academy, causing the audience to be reduced to silence. The Principal was a man of at least 50 years of age with a full lock of grey hair, dressed in a formal brown suit with an atmosphere of excellence surrounding him. “Children, I welcome you all to another year at this brilliant school. Over the course of the next year, I am sure you will all be working at your utmost best to remain at this Academy and bring out your full potential in your academic studies. Now, I am sure you are all aware, but Chisei Academy works on a three-strike rule where if your grades dip lower than 90%, then you will be escorted home and be classed as a dropout from the Academy. However, I am sure that a grand majority of you will be successful in your stay here at this academy.” The Principal took a few steps to the side and began welcoming students up onto the stage one by one. “We will now be welcoming this year’s Club Presidents so that they may promote their clubs and hopefully attract the attention of all those who are interested.” The Principal then remained quiet as one by one; students came up on stage and began “selling” their clubs to the audience.
After tens of minutes had passed, the opening ceremony had almost reached its’ end, waiting only for a single club to make its debut. Almost a little worried, the Principal began edging closer to the end of the stage. “Now, we have one more Club President to introduce. Please welcome Charles Cerberus Cross of The Normal Club.” Retreating from the stage in case of one of Chase’s pranks, the Principal left the audience to wonder about this last President. Walking out onto the stage slowly with his hands in his pockets was the blonde haired Club President, Charles Cerberus Cross. Stopping in the middle of the stage, the young teen observed his daunting audience as they stared him down with gazes of curiosity and anticipation. Keeping a straight face, Chase took his left hand out of his pocket and held up a fog horn in front of him, triggering the loud and distasteful sound of the horn that caused everyone to cover their ears. After a few seconds, Chase ceased blowing the horn and simply tossed it behind him. It was then that Chase began speaking, a smile creeping across his face. “Now that I have your attention, I’m going to let you all in on a secret… You’re all idiots, yep, every last one of you. You want to know why? It’s because you’re not me.” Walking back and forth along the stage, Chase began to express himself confidently with his hands. “Now, I’m sure a lot of you are confused and don’t quite know what I mean, but trust me, you’ll figure it out eventually. So, if you want to join my club, then you’ll have to fulfil a certain requirement.” Taking centre stage, the young teen planted his feet firmly into the ground and faced the crowd, pointing his finger at all of them. “I only want the lamest, dumbest, idiotic, losers to have ever walked this campus! Truly popular students have no place in my club. If you feel like you have no place left to turn to, no friends to call your own, then you will always be welcome at The Normal Club!!” Chase smirked to himself, his confidence radiating throughout the entire hall while all who watched could only think of how crazy he was. The blonde President then crossed his arms and closed his eyes, feeling nothing wavering within himself. “Now, when you imbeciles do join my Club, and you will join my club, there will be a few rules that you will need to abide by. Rule Number 1, I will be referred to as President, Club President or Supreme-Overlord-of-The-Universe. Rule Number 2, you will all look up to me as if you’re very lives are indebted to me and my god-like presence. Rule Number 3…” However, before Chase could get himself to the next rule, he found himself being escorted off the stage. “Hey! What the hell are you idiots doing?! I still have 50 more rules to get through! I have to lead my people! They need me! I’ll come back to you my subjects!! Join The Normal Club!!” And with that, Chase was escorted off the stage by two members of staff, much to the embarrassment of a certain Vice President. Walking back on stage, the Principal arrived centre stage to conclude the opening ceremony. “Well, I am sure you all found that last entry to be quite… eventful. Regardless, this concludes the ending ceremony for Chisei Academy. I hope you all have a good year here and don’t become like… that guy. Good luck!” Right at that moment, confetti exploded all around the Principal, completely covering him and the students sat near the front. From a cat walk above the stage, Chase was shouting down at everyone with a megaphone, a five-mile smirk emblazoned across his face. “Hey you idiots! What the hell are you all waiting for?! Let’s go and change the world!!” Chase dropped the megaphone to one side and then pulled a lever, releasing a horde of papers upon the audience with a new note. Rushing out of the hall to avoid being taken away again, Chase could not stop himself from grinning to himself. “This is how it begins! This is the path I’ve decided to take and I can’t wait to get started!” All of a sudden, Chase began laughing as the voice of a “beast” raged from inside the hall. “CROSS!!!!!”
David who was watching the whole show from the audience was completely awe struck. How could such an idiot possibly exist in a school for the elite? It defied all the logic in the world. However, that was a side note at the moment. David’s primal focus was on the notes falling from the sky. Reaching up and taking a note out of the sky, David read it aloud to himself.
“Dear idiots,
I see that you’ve all made it to round 2. This is where things get really interesting. Everything I said during the opening ceremony is true whether you believe me or not. You can’t attain your true potential and you can’t keep going through life the way you’ve been doing it so far. Without me, you’ll fail. So, that’s why I want you all to join me. Together, we can bring out the best in each other and conquer this fate no matter the odds. So, meet me in Class 2-D after lessons have finished. Welcome to the Normal Club you dumbasses.
Yours Sincerely, Mr President.
P.S. My name is Chase you goddamn Principal!!”
David’s gaze was almost blank, literally having no idea what to think of what he had just read in comparison to what he had witnessed only minutes ago. “(This school… No, this guy… It’s too much... Who does he think he’ll fool with this? This is ludicrous!! Then again… Maybe this is something that could help me get over my shyness. Being around a guy like this will surely give me some sort of confidence boost, right?)” Unknowingly, David had just decided on something that he would surely regret for the rest of his school year. “(Please… Don’t be too annoying.)”
