they can't not handle xehanort without sora because sora is the leader of the pack

but the voiceover (who ever that is) said sora is the only person who can open the door to light

neither of them can handle xehanort by themself

i think everyone who doesn't have keyblades can kill heartless but their heart is still in the darkness because like you said only keyblades can release hearts.

btw sora doesn't have darkness in his heart

sora doesn't need armor to unlock the keyblade's full power
