Ferro saw a boy walk down the path away from the main group and pause right across from the thicket. The boy glanced in Ferro's direction, gave a start, and threw some knife at him. Ferro raised Chips to deflect the projectile, but it exploded into a cloud of smoke and dust. "Aahh, what the f---!" Ferro stormed out of the cloud, waving Chips to disperse the smoke. "What do you think you're doing, boy?!" he roared. "Haven't your parents taught you any manners?!" "Aw, give the kid a break." Chips said, his voice heard in the boy's mind as well as in Ferro's. "It's not like he hurt you or anything." "What is a young man like you doing out in the woods?" Birgitte questioned. "Well now we've blown cover." Vell grumbled. As each artifact spoke, the red eyes on each pulsated in time with the words.

Ferro kept walking through the forest, swinging his arms carelessly. Suddenly he came upon a gravel path through the woods. Frowning, he walked over to examin it. "I didn't realize this mountain was so close to people. It looks fairly well kept." he muttered. A load groaning arose when he set foot on the path, and Ferro threw himself backward, landing on his feet in a thicket of trees. He quickly and silently strapped Chips onto his arm and took Vell in hand. "Keep quiet." he whispered. "All right, all right, fine, boss." Chips said a bit loader than a whisper. Ferro scanned the path in both directions until he saw a small group of people start up the path to his right. They looked like a motley bunch, a mismatch of adventurers. Ferro considered whether to hail them or not. He hoped the faint red glow of Chips's big eye didn't give him away. . . (JOINING GOLD TEAM. Feel free to notice me if you wish.)

It's all right I decided to start myself in a forest, right? I may have accidentally replaced a section of your terrain, MDS. Also, does anyone really want Ferro in their group?

By the looks of things, I'll probably join the team with four people, but we'll see what happens.

Ferro moved at an amble through the trees of the forest, his gear slung across his back. Gear was not the right word for it; Chips, Birgitte, and Vell were people in their own right. It was just that they were a shield, glaive, and crossbow. "Are we almost to the mountain?" Chips whined, his voice sounding in Ferro's mind. "Stop complaining, dammit!" Another, gruff voice, Vell's. "There's no need to be so angry, Vell. I am certain we will be there soon." Birgitte's voice lilted. "Yep, another couple miles and we'll be in the foothills." Ferro said. When he had seen the mountain on the horizon, he knew he had to go explore it. He didn't know which mountain it was; Ferro never paid attention to that sort of thing. All he knew was that it was there, and that was all Ferro needed. He stayed his course.

Say MDS, would I be able to insert my character into a group after the groups are made? He is a wanderer, and I want him to stuble upon one of the adventuring parties by accident. Also, my earlier question about the fourth artifact still stands.

I left him deliberately open-ended. In addition to him, though, the artifacts he wields have personalities and can speak. It will be interesting.

What in the hell has happened here!? I haven't had more than sixty notifications since the Experiment days! Oh boy, this is going to be good! Also MDS, would it be at all possible for my character to find the remaining parts of and repair the fourth artifact during the later part of the RP?

This looks like it will be an absolutely fantastic RP! I can't believe you can come up with these things, MDS. I have actually decided to use a different character than the one I mentioned earlier. This one is based off of the game Transistor. Name: Ferro Nonkendas (naturally, a Ferro) Magic Ability: Ferro is in possession of three sentient, magical artifacts. The first is a shield named Chips. In the center of it is a red, glassy, circular disk which acts as Chips's eye. The rest of the shield is made up of overlapping plates of white metal. The plates can shift around to change the area the shield protects, as well as completely detach from the shield and fly around close to Ferro. There is one central, larger plate that is always attached to the eye (and is the part that Ferro holds). Blasts of white-hot energy can be projected from the central eye. The second artifact consists of a short grey staff with a white blade on each end. At the base of each blade is imbedded an eye just like the one in the shield, although smaller. The artifact's name is Birgitte. The magical abilities of this weapon are that the blades heat up in combat and it will return to Ferro's hand when cast. The last artifact is a crossbow named Vell. The crossbow is made of the same white metal as the other two artifacts. It loads automagically and fires bolts of white-hot flame semi-automatically. It has a scope that floats above the main body. There are four of the red eyes spaced evenly around the scope. Backstory: Ferro left Teragren a long time ago when his mother died. She was the only family he had left, and he could not bear to remain with other people after her death. He travelled for many years in the wilderness of the world. It was out there he found the only three people he knows: Chips, Birgitte, and Vell. It was simple coincidence that took his wanderings into the path of the climbers. (Ferro actually doesn't know about the mission to end the Kamyn. The first people he meets once the RP starts will be the first contact he has with the whole expedition. Be prepared to do some explaining to him.) Appearance: Ferro is of medium height and build, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He has a baritone voice, and likes to sing (it was one way he passed the time in his wanderings). He wears plates of that white metal a few places on his body (Not a full suit. Ferro has hypothesized that a fourth artifact used to exist, a suit of armor, and these pieces might be the remnants of it. The other three artifacts do not know, however, as they had lain dormant since their creation until he found them.) Beneath the plates are worn but well-cared-for traveller's clothes. Ferro does not carry food or water; he has learned to hunt and forage, as well as become hardened to hunger, thirst, and the elements. Role: Climber

YAAAAAAAY!!!!! And I agree with you, Pretium, I just don't have a sadist in my liver. There might be one in my large intestine, though. . .

My alignment will be concealed, although he may have to turn out good in the end if there are this many evil people. I would wait until the RP to choose alignments; it might not allow for any evil characters.

I think the main thing we want to avoid is two people going back and forth constantly. I don't have an issue with several people being more active than others, however, as long as the aforementioned thing does not happen. Waiting for people who are away can really limit what the more active people can do.

Space-age, although it is so far space-age that it could be done with magic.

Say MDS, will there be room for sci-fi characters in this RP? I have a great character concept for sci-fi.

You guys bury the hatchet and I will vaporize that section of earth so the hatchet is a million particles. And I might start some RPs if you guys bury it.
