It is an official novel containing 9 short stories in the form of individual "Episodes" that ARE NOT included in the game. Most are written in first person but this one breaks the mould. That person, also this person, everyone is eating Sea Salt ice cream! Don’t you want to try one? Walking round in circles at his usual location Scrooge muttered and grumbled about something or other. “I – that ice cream I, such taste… who made it in the first place?... And what exactly be that taste!?...... ” And let’s say things about his enormous wealth. After all, it was how he had bought the huge refrigerator, but the product that should well be inside the refrigerator was not yet completed. When I was travelling on a Gummi Ship, the sentimental taste of eating ice cream in the city stopped suddenly. Making ice cream was Scrooge’s goal now. The three blurted out their speech in quick succession. First and foremost all noise irritated Scrooge, but even more annoying to him especially was these three who had gathered before him. “Oh! Oh! Oh! This’s Sea Salt ice cream”. “Ice cream?” “Gimme Gimme!” After making repeating noise with the boo-hoo-hoo, Scrooge reluctantly handed them each an ice cream. “Here ya go”. They each crammed the ice creams in their mouths all at once. “Bad!” “Bitter!” “What is this?!” The three each shouted and grimaced. “I’m giving mine back!” “I don’t need this!” “This shouldn’t be sold at all!” Their reactions to the ice cream made Scrooge suffer. Heartbroken, he his shoulders drooped. Oh, that ice cream – at the very least, if Ansem the Wise was in town I could obtain it… but What is that secret recipe? Turning to the heavens, Scrooge heaved a big sigh. _____ ==_____) Ansem the Wise is eating Sea Salt ice cream today. There is a small refrigerator underneath his desk, with a lot of Sea Salt ice cream in there. In order to write up his research in his report, while thinking various things, Ansem eats 2 or 3 ice creams a day. He didn’t think he ate too many, but still… Then there came a noise. “Ansem, like –“. Following a knock at the door, his apprentice Xehanort entered the room. “Oh, Xehanort, is the research going well?” The display of emotions from weak Xehanort made Ansem smile. “It’s coming along, but”. “Would you like an ice cream?” To block out the rest of Xehanorts babbling questions about the research, Ansem took out a Sea Salt ice cream from the bottom of the refrigerator and held it out to Xehanort. “Er, No I…” “We need sugar in order to fuel our thinking in order to research necessarily. Now, are you going to eat a Sea Salt ice cream too?” Xehanort, upon receipt of the ice cream, reluctantly nibbled a bite on the spot. His brow raised slightly, showing reluctance. But Xehanort, couldn’t hate Sea Salt ice cream. Mysteriously salty and sweet. It was a close relationship, that Ansem should be called the teacher and only be respected, that he was able to recommend things such as Sea Salt ice cream. Ansem recommended the ice cream often to his five other apprentices. Yet he still hasn’t been able to understand whether there is a certain charm to this ice cream, or how come it isn’t good enough for Xehanort. For Xehanort, Ansem was a lifesaver. When I lost those memories, I was wandering around and you were the only one who helped me Ansem. Ansem had always eaten these Sea Salt ice creams from back then even, he came to think of it. _____ ==_____) Well, I hope you too like eating the ice cream. _____ ==_____) Each time you’d rather see a different reaction Ansem. He holds out the ice cream saying that it’s so good. Xehanort thought how he eats this ice cream voluntarily kind of like, come to think of it, a medicinal drug, and he laughed. “I guess something is the matter?” Ansem, after finishing the Ice cream asked curiously. Xehanort laughing in this way was rare. The action may show peace of the heart, and be due to the Sea Salt ice cream, thought Ansem. _____ ==_____) The sound of running through the corridor came with a patter. Minnie, from inside her office, looks up. The door opens with a bang to reveal Daisy standing there. She has a small box in her hand. “My, what has happened for you to be in such a hurry Daisy?” “I received a package from the King!” “Well!......” Minnie rushes to Daisy and received a small box with a ribbon on. Upon touching it she tilts her neck. “Cold?...” “Yes, it’s icy!” With looks of curiosity on her face, placing the box on a large desk, Minnie and Daisy unravel the ribbon. Inside the box was a blue coloured Ice cream. “What would this be?...” Minnie tilted her neck further. “Let’s eat anyway”. One by one they each took an ice cream and looked at each other. The two bit into their ice creams at the same time. “Cold!” “Salty!” They each voiced nearly simultaneously and exchanged another look in unison. “But it’s yummy!” The two giggled. “The taste brings back memories”. “…… Like when I used to eat at Scrooge’s, if I do say so”. Daisy tilted her head at Minnies words. “It came with a card”. Minnie takes out a small card from the bottom of the box. _____ ==_____) It’s your turn to try one— _____ ==_____) “It is a wonderful gift”. Minnie smiles. “Yeah, really…” Daisy nods in agreement. “All this time… I wonder where you are”. Minnie says in a small voice, while staring at the ice cream. _____ ==_____) Every time he went to Hollow Bastion, Sora always ate a Sea Salt ice cream. Scrooges Sea Salt ice cream was completed successfully and was really delicious. “It’ll ruin your stomach if you eat that much” says Goofy with another Sea Salt ice cream held firmly in his hands. Eating the ice cream with someone this way while watching the sun sets on the walls feels very nostalgic. Sora thought, lifting the ice cream to his mouth. It brought back fond memories from Destiny Island. In his head he saw his two friends Kairi and Riku, who ate the Paopu fruit while watching the sunset. “I…… I want to eat one of these ice creams with Kairi and Riku” Sora said vaguely. I think that… Every time I see something amazing somewhere, Every time I feel something great, I think I want to share the moment with Riku and Kairi. I haven’t seen them in a long time. I want us to meet soon. “I’d like to eat with the King”. “And me… with Daisy”. Donald and Goofy each said whilst staring at the setting sun beside Sora. Even these two feel the same. I want to eat the ice cream with those two soon. Staring into the sea, with just us three, I want to eat an ice cream. The evening sun sinks at Hollow Bastion. _____ ==_____) Axel carried an ice cream into his mouth while staring at the setting sun blankly. A number of times I forget what I am doing, I feel you are eating ice cream here with me. The city of memories – Twilight Town. How many times have I eaten ice cream on this clock tower? “Still here, as I thought”. Hearing this called out Axel raises his head. Riku stood there – as Ansem. “When you went off by yourself Axel, Naminé was worried”. Riku laughed a little. After all, he held an ice cream in his hand. Without a reply, Axel looks at the setting sun remaining silent to Rikus words. “I want to eat this with Sora” Riku said a little happily. I, but I want to eat with Roxas - …… I want to eat the ice cream here with Roxas again someday. But when I’m eating ice cream, I’m happy. Axel shakes his head slightly. It would just be a dream. It was certain not to come true. “Naminé is lonely” At Rikus statement, Axel finally looks up. It shouldn’t be a problem, A Nobody, it’s strange how she can be lonely. But, as I want to see Roxas again, when I think about that, I feel sad. I wonder if Naminé really is lonely. While we journey around ourselves chasing after Sora, Naminé is left alone in that house. “Are you going back soon?” Axel asks, rising up. I am in a pure white room, similar to Castle Oblivion, but it is in here that I don’t hate being alone.Axel and Riku remained the same since I left.Because I don’t get to interact with other children I cover the walls in drawings that I draw in my sketchbook, alone in this room. I am drawing Axel and Riku today.Riku, not the appearance of Ansem. Riku from the time that he was in his original form. Axel is eating ice cream.It’s a place where those two men could laugh.Axel and Riku get along very well somehow. Since Riku has become a figure of Ansem, I don’t speak much with him, but he laughs like a different person when he eats Ice cream with Axel. I understand from a distance that Olette is angry. She’d turned her head angrily in one direction, Hayner had done the same in the other direction. I began to laugh.There were three sets of people come to think of it. Riku with me, then Axel – Sora, Donald and Goofy. Kairi, Riku and Sora were also a threesome.It isn’t a lively one like Donald, Goofy and Sora, and there is no such friendship like Riku, Kairi and Sora with us. Perhaps Axel would be there.Axel went out of the house alone to the city casually once in a while. They didn’t fit the behaviour very well, but he and Riku were not going to give up on their visits. “It’s over” I say whilst Hayner scratches his head. “I’m confused, what’s so new at grandmothers candy shop?” “I don’t think…… Yeah I wonder if it is”“I mean the suspicious man in the black coat. Even grandmother said it’s strange. Apart from him what other explanation is there?” “Now it is likely, but…… but we never saw the man in the black coat anywhere that…… hmm?” “Eh?”Hayner frowns and tilts his neck. Grandmother smiled. “That’s fine!”Leaning on the wall next to the counter, I bite into the ice.Salty and sweet, the taste spread in my mouth as usual.But I thought it tasted special. “Well, is it good?” Grandmother asked. “It’s yummy”“That’s nice dear” “Yeah”I nodded and a small black cat meowed and snuggled at my feet. “Do you want some?”I squat down and hold out the sea salt ice cream to the black cat. The black cat snuggled further onto my foot and meowed again. “Hey child, I love that you’re acting like a parent” Grandmother says happily. “Really?” I asked the black cat. Then the black cat meowed once more. In the storage area under the elevated train tracks—in the usual place, Hayner is eating sea salt ice cream. It seems he and Olette have reconciled.Sitting on top of crates that are stacked in the corner of the storage area, Hayner eats the ice cream as usual. “Hey Hayner”“Uh?”Pence, who had already finished eating his ice cream looked to face Hayner. “Who was that girl who went to the shop?”Pences question made Hayner stop. “Why do you mean ‘the girl’?” Olette asks them. “It was a girl in front of grandmothers shop a while ago”Instead of answering, Hayner just blinks. “Don’t you know the child?” Olette asks as she ate her ice cream. “I never saw that girl before. She wore a white dress and had golden hair. Like Hayner!” “Yup” Hayner nodded. “I wonder whether she moved here?” Pence looked up at Hayner. “We might meet her at school in the new school year”. Olette said happily. “I hope we do” Pence nodded in agreement. “Hayner, Are you listening?” Olette asks Hayner who just gives a vague:“What?”Olette gave a small sigh, amazed that Hayner was surprised. “That girl…… do you mean she was cute?” “Exactly! Well understood Olette”. Pence answered again. “You’re so dim Hayner” “No way!”Hayner gets down from the wooden box and jumps up.She certainly was a pretty girl, but why did that mean she was so vague? There was a strange atmosphere about that girl. “So is there anything else…”Olette is surprised. “So……”Hayner looks up, depressed, as he suddenly asks a question with a sad air. “I wonder if we’ll meet again?!” “Perhaps in the new school year” Olette suggested whilst Pence shrugged. I ate the ice cream and with a wave to the old lady, ran to return home. I close the door of the white room loudly so as to suppress the ringing of the beating in my chest. I should be better than this, I take a deep breath.Yet the heart is making a sound.I perched in my chair and take out my sketchbook. Then I remove the black crayon and begin to draw a black cat.That I spoke with someone in town for the first time, and ate the ice cream outside… was also for the first time.Enjoyable for the first time—-for my first visit, I had fun.Such feelings in Soras memory—That I touched the heart for the first time, but still felt like I was on my own.Come to think of it, I was also able to meet Hayner.We didn’t talk—But I was happy to meet him. “I guess I should go…… again” I murmur to the cat in the sketchbook.I imagined that the cat gave a small meow, and smiled. Grandmother hands me the ice cream with a smile. “Thank you”The black cat gave a small meow which made me laugh. “Bon Voyage”Grandmother lowers her head with a smile. Then I walk to the road to the Station, whilst eating the ice cream. If you walk from here all the way up to the hill, you were supposed to arrive at Station Square. I tread lightly up the hill while looking at how the children are playing on the slopes.If I turn right along the way, I would supposedly reach Hayners usual spot.As I start up the hill, I stop walking for a moment and looked into the back alley. The hill is a little steep from here, and there was a garage where the path cut out, for sure.By the time I came close to the garage, my ice cream was completely gone. And turning right at the garage, Station Square is straight ahead. The moment I entered the square the setting sun came into my eyes. “Dazzling……”The murmur came out unintentionally as I shielded my face with one hand. As I stepped to approach the setting sun, pigeons took off into the sky. “Wow!” “Pardon?”I turn around with a sudden cry. Hayner was sitting on the steps in front of the station. I was so surprised; I felt paralysed on the spot and couldn’t move. Hayners face showed that he was feeling the same way. “…… All right?” It sounded so involuntary to me. Hayner stands up awkwardly. “Yeah, fine!” “That’s good”.I look back at the setting sun and smile away the butterflies in my stomach.It wasn’t the first time that I had seen the sunset in Twilight Town. This is when I reach the state of panic. The last of my Sea Salt ice cream, only one last bite, melts and drops to the ground. “So you must really like Sea Salt Ice cream? Me too!”I nod quietly. “But it melted away?”I bite my tongue at Hayners last words. Hayner keeps on staring. I take a deep breath to calm myself. “Oh, you know”After I say this, Hayner tries to say something else, but is cut off by the sound of the bell ringing. We both unintentionally look up at the clock tower at the same time.The hands of the clock and the bells read it was 2 o’clock. “Do you know the stories about the ghosts that appear on the top of that clock tower?” “What!?”I stare at Hayner. “Besides when Uncle goes up the clock tower to clean the clock once a month, nobody goes up there. But some people have said that they’ve seen black shadows sitting side by side up there, in front of the clock”.In the moment that I listen to the story, I look up at the clock tower again, surprised. “No human would sit up there. So why should there even be a ghost story of the duo?” “The two ghosts……” I mutter and giggle.Surely it’s about my two.Just like that, the two guys were thought to be ghosts. Somehow I found it interesting and funny at the same time. “So you like ghost stories? Well here’s another: There’s a large mansion on the outskirts of town…” “I know what ghost you’re talking about! But I want to introduce you to everyone……”I run past Hayner and break into a run. His face had a startled expression on it, and his mouth opens. “What?” “Oh?”Olette and Pence notice that I start running and, being surprised, they stop in their tracks. “Wait!” And my feet stop moving for a moment at Olettes voice: “Let’s play together”Pence calls something else out in agreement at my retreating back..However, without looking back, I break into a run again. Vigorously fastening the door of the white room shut, my shoulders raise and lower themselves to the rhythm of my rough breaths. I close my eyes.I should not have spoken to the city people like that.If I know Hayner correctly, he’s a blabbermouth. And this mistake will be irrevocable.But his story was interesting. Pence yells out loud."Naminé!" “Hello” I smile at Hayner, who runs up to me in a panic. “I thought we’d meet again” “I’m sorry to have left so suddenly yesterday”I pick up the ball at my feet and pass it to Hayner. “I was going to come again” I say, and to my relief, Hayner laughs. “What’s taking so long, Hayner?”Olette comes running up from behind, with Pence in tow.“Nice to meet you” I nod my head at the two. “I’m called Naminé” “I’m Pence”. Pence reaches out to shake hands with me. “Nice to meet you, my name is Olette” Olette laughs and smiles, I nod in return. “When did you move here Naminé?”To answer Pences question I just laugh quietly.The three exchange a troubled look. “You know, I haven’t eaten any ice cream today……so?”I shake my head at Hayners invitation. “I can’t. I only have 10 munny”“Well I’ll pay half!”“You’re on!” “Me too!”And the three start laughing as they look at each other unanimously. “We’ll be hospitable today” “Thank you”I was just a little downcast at Pences words. Everyone headed for the front of grandmothers candy shop side by side. “Yes, today many parents come!” Grandmother jokes and makes me laugh. The black cat rubs affectionately against my knees. “And my they’re good. One 5 munny each from Olette and Pence and a set of 10 munny from Hayner to pay for 4 am I right?” “That’s fine, do we have enough?”Olette looks a little worried at Hayners hands. “It’s all right!”To the trios combined total of 20 munny to pay for my ice cream, I add my 10 munny and Hayner puts it on the counter for 30 munny altogether. Olette and Pence then each pay 25 munny, to make up the total. “Yes, please”Grandmother passed us all an ice cream. “Thank you” I nibbled into the ice immediately. “It’s salty… but sweet” “Yeah, only Sea Salt ice cream!” Pence answers and leans back onto the wall, like the day before yesterday I lean on it too. Hayner and Olette then lined up side by side and joined us, as a train soon went by in front of us. In the aftermath I have to say something. “I’m glad to meet everyone”“We’ll meet up again lots now, in the future” Olette says and looks at me “Yeah, but Summer Vacation will end soon” Hayner continues.I stop eating my ice cream and stand in front of Hayner. “Thank you for the ice cream” “Don’t worry about it” Hayner says, embarrassed, and faces the other way. I look at Olette and Pence in the same way. “Today I came to say goodbye” “What?” Hayner jumps off the wall and stares into my face. “Why?”Pence and Olette stop leaning in the same way to stand next to me. “But I loved meeting you”Olette was now standing right next to me. Standing with three people, as if they were to totally surround me. “I can’t see you anymore” “What do you mean…?” “I’m sorry. Its had its ups and downs for me. I got an interview at Oxford University- and absolutely hated it there! Then I got into a media/English Lit course that's perfect for me... Now all I have to do is not screw up in my exams ;D

I love Olette! I think it's great that she's her own character (not that I hate the others but still), she's certainly a good example of girl power in KH Has anybody read the Kingdom Hearts Short Stories Volume 1 novel - Other Diamonds? Olette (and Hayner and Pence) have a short story in Episode 2 The Twilight (set in Twilight Town from Namines point of view, where she finally meets the 3). Currently it's only in Japanese but I'm translating it into English (like I did for Episode 1) and will post it once I'm done- but I think Olette is brilliant in it! BTW... I think she'd be better with Pence than Hayner, I think that those two would just end up killing each other .

It is written from King Mickey Mouse’s point of view: The new journey may surprisingly be easy. It might have already begun. The setting sun, sinking into the ocean of Destiny Island. I looked into the ocean next to Kairi. Goofy and Donald also stared into the sea quietly behind us. Between day and night, between light and darkness - - Twilight creates a world of deep blue, in the elongated light of the sunlight. Beautiful, pale and hazy between the sea and sky. I travelled around the world, but even so I had never seen the sun and sea so clean. A special world; Destiny Island - this world. I wondered. After all - one of the Princesses. It’s where Kairi arrived. I felt like it was a long time ago to the day when I went out on a journey in search of the seven Princesses. No, it was days before, I met with the Ansem for the first time before that - I wonder was it really years ago? The date of that trip? If you view each world respectively, there is a place separate from even the flow of time and space. The worlds dot the sea of the abnormal sky. The truth was, I thought I finally found it, travelling such a world, it was not true. I do not know yet the reason for existence of the world. I could not wait anymore. I took off running with Goofy and Donald – Soras treasured friends. And, I jumped straight into Riku. "Riku!" "King" Oh, it was good. It was really nice. I promised in Castle Oblivion, You always said to go away. That promise ends forever, from now on. And then- "I'm home" I laughed at Sora so shy. "Welcome back". Kairi reached out to Sora, Sora took her hand tight. I looked up at Riku staring at the two. I spoke out "Welcome back, Riku". Riku put on a smile to those words. "I'm home, Your majesty " The sound of the waves. The blinking of the stars . And staring at the horizon, Riku and I were seated side by side. Donald, Kairi and Sora are meeting and talking noisily about something or other that has happened in the past. "It was good what you and Sora did together, Riku". After a sigh, showing such peace of mind, I murmured. “I didn’t exactly do the same as them though, Don’t so easily say something that I did that sounds so similar to what they did” And gazing at me, in response Riku laughed. "I mean - " I looked down. The first time after you closed the door to darkness. The second time when you left Castle Oblivion, you were walking through corridor of the darkness. I became separated from Riku twice. “I ran away only to escape what I had King” To remove the downcast gaze that I had, Riku stared into the horizon again. “To imagine you ran away like that, those words aren’t good Riku, the path you chose to take was different. Isn’t that right?" His response was "whatever". Riku smiled in a self-contained way. I thought to myself, Riku has become an adult since the time I met Riku for the first time. Ansem and Malificent. Much more powerful together, with the cover of the great darkness, Riku was in the center of that darkness. However he didn’t quit pursuing the light. The strength of Riku did it. Even while being misled by the darkness, he was not able to give up the light. Perhaps because the light pointed to the place it always was inside him. "I'm talking about what the two of you did together!" Sora came running trying to interrupt Riku and me, stumbled on something and ended up landing face down, directly on the sand. Goofy asked Sora “What am I going to do with you?” Sora replied “It’s not funny!” Sora tried to get up. However, Donald and Goofy jumped on his back in succession. “Group pile!” “A-hyuck!” "ack! " Sora was pushed down beneath Goofy and Donald and collapsed onto the beach on his face once again. "Heavy!" "Oh, I was wrong. Hey, how can we talk about things changing, looking at Sora for example King?” Riku commented, causing Goofy to laugh. "You’re horrible!" Donald jumped up from on top of Sora. "Were you really talking about that King?" Goofy asked leisurely. “Come on, How did the conversation go?” Sora asked. I helped Sora up at last. "You’re definitely clumsy enough to not sound like a hero who saved the world with these three" Kairi who was approaching fast, said with a laugh. “Hey! Kairi!” They laughed together as Sora, complained about the sand that covered him. Under the stars, the sandy beach near the sea. There was hours now to spend on this island, listening to the sound of the waves. The fact that Sora and his team were fighting against Xemnas just earlier seemed far away. Xemnas was no more. The world was saved now Kairi. Like I said. Is it REALLY true? Did I really save the world for good? I thought about it and wasn’t sure. But surely Riku will be all right—If Sora is there . It’s all right if his friends are there, Riku and Sora. “Hey, I’m hungry!” Goofy said. “Me too” Sora yelled and looked up at Goofy. “It looks like Sora’s only worry is that he’s hungry now” I said to Riku who looked surprised at him. “Are there no yummy things on Destiny Island?” Donald asked. “I wonder…… Do you want to eat the Paopu fruit?” Kairi looked back at Sora as she said it. “That would be great” “I’ll have one too” said Riku. Kairi nodded and he started walking. "We'll go too!" Donald and Goofy followed suit leaving Sora and Kairi, I too chased after them. The setting sun shone down on everyone.
