Unto The abyss

Adam shakes the thought out of his mind and turns to Chuck. "Maybe tonight we could all go searching for some pokemon and train against them or we could train against eachother, but currently... We need to think about food."

"I should train Rex... See if I can get him to learn Ice Punch. It should give me an edge against....um." He seems to have already forgotten the gym leaders name. "Falmer was it?"

"Hmmm....the first battle on the journey and its already a struggle against a speedy opponent with plenty of mobility..... I suppose flying pokemon would be a good idea in terms of mobility." Says Adam. "Electric, Rock, and Ice type attacks would be the most effective..." Adam explains he then looked at Totodile "....and that would be step one..."

"Kor....do you know what kind of gym the Violet City Gym is? Ive heard each gym has a specialization. I would like to be prepared." Asked Adam. As he watched the Totodile run about happily. Rex ran up and greeted James and Kor again before running over to Chuck and doing the same.

Adam looked at Chuck. "That would be the second oddly colored pokemon you have, no?" He said calmly as he took Rex's pokeball off of his belt and called the Totodile out. The pokemon appeared from the flash of light and immidiatly began to run about, joyfully. I ran towards Hedwig to greet the owl pokemon. "I will need more than just two pokemon if I am to clash against The Violet City Gym..." muttered Adam, keeping his eyes peeled for any other pokemon he could use.

"This is far from my first time camping out. Ive had to do this since I traveled here by foot." said Adam as he finished setting up the lightweight tent he had strapped to his hiking bag. He placed down a mat in the tent, no blanket and then he placed his bag at the top of the mat to act as a pillow. "So I found some berries around the nearby area if you guys want I could see what I could do for dinner." He said as he pulled 3 Oran berries, 2 Rawst berries, and 4 Persim Berries from his bag. His attention was then drawn to the Larvitar. "Well well... Thats quite the find." he smiled as he pulled out his pokedex from his back pocket. ***Larvitar, The Rock Skin Pokemon and the pre-evolved form of Pupitar.*** Larvitar is born deep under the ground. To come up to the surface, this Pokémon must eat its way through the soil above. Until it does so, Larvitar cannot see its parents. (ORAS Pokedex description. Ill wait till the morning for the Phanphy.) "Interesting..." said Adam

"Would you guys like to camp out here tonight?" asked Adam as he began to search around the area seeming more active than he had been before.

"Yes well done." says Adam as he watched both trainers capture their pokemon. He simply waits patiently for the group to near the entrance of route 46 where he could capture the ground-type pokemon.

(Thats why I'm going to follow the game on this one. route 46 is partially mountainous)

Adam nodded to the others and began to walk towards Route 29 with them. He put his hands in his pockets as the walked. His face held a calmer expression than before he got to know the other three. "You guys wouldn't mind stopping around the route 46 exit would you? Ive heard that there is a possibility to find wild Phanphy there and if we could find one I'd like to catch it." he said to the others. "If it takes too long we could also camp out there as well and get to know one another a bit more." his voice is rather held back as if he forced himself to ask the question to the others. (I only say this cause I remember that Phanphy were available in pokemon crystal or something) *After checking* (Yep route 46 in the morning, but our characters wouldn't know that yet now would we.)

Adam turned to Kor. "Violet City I presume? It is the closest gym from here if my memory serves me right. there is also Sprout Tower. we should definitely check it out seeing as it is a well known landmark for new trainers like us." He then turned to Chuck and nods "Then it wouldn't be out of the question to train together along the way. however our teamwork may have to end if we reach the indigo plateau for we may be put against one another..." He then looked at James. "And you? are you facing off against the gyms?"

Adam nods as he recalls Rex and set the Pokeball on his belt. "How far should we travel?" he asks as he fastens his backpack around his waist. "I would also like to ask if any of you are taking on the gyms here in Johto."

"I see." Adam turns to the computer and clacks away at the keys. The machine stops. "Your pokemon is healed you may take it back." he says as he stands up after turning off the computer. "Well then. I suppose Ill be seeing your around then." Adam then leaves the building without another word. As he comes out of the building he looks at Chuck, James, and Kor. "You set to go?"

"Understandable..." he said as he pressed a few buttons and the machine whirred to life. "It'll take a few minutes. So why don't we pass the time with small talk. where are the two of you from" he asks clearly out of his element.

(Angel, the way I try to write is a way that doesnt control others but still is full of enough information for the others to run off of and continue. That and having it make sense.) Adam returned after being told what to do. "Alright are the two of you ready?" He asked as he walked up to the machine and waited for a pokeball to be placed in it.

Adam lead the two inside. "How rude of me. I haven't told you my name yet." he said as he turned around to face them. "Its Adam." he said as he pointed towards a rather large machine. "I believe thats it. Well I'll go ask the professor how to run it. In the mean time you two should place your Pokeballs containing your Pokemon in the machine." Adam then walked off to talk to the professor.

Adam seemed to ignore James as he watched Strike and Alexis battle. He payed close attention to the rather disobedient Chikorita. As he saw the one-sided battle come to a close he walked up to the two of them and looked over at Alexis. "Of course you lost. I don't mean to sound so harsh but you had absolutely no rhythm or even control during the battle. Of course Im one to talk a lot of us probably only know how to battle through others. We are young so we probably are mimicking the trainers we watched on TV or maybe even seen in the gyms if any of you were like me and had a gym in your town." He was now speaking to everyone at this point, but then returned his attention to Alexis. "However being good at battling isn't the only thing that makes us who we are, taking good care of your pokemon is also something that will define us as trainers. Now c'mon I think Professor Elm has a machine we can use to heal up your Chikorita." He looked at Strike. "You too." he said as he walked towards the lab. "Oh." he looked around. "Im going to leave Rex out here to run around a bit longer so would you guys mind watching him for me while we are inside?" he asked James, Chuck, and Kor.

You sure? cause you said for me to draw my steel... *tiredly continues to draw*

"Interesting..." muttered Adam as he took a mental note. "Well...shall we be off?" Adam watched the Totodiles with curiosity.

Alright then -draws a steel spoon upon a piece of paper. begins to apply light sources-

Rex walked up to the other Totodile, confused as to what it was doing. "Um... I suppose it certainly isn't a bad idea." Adam said as he watched Rex attempt to make friends with the Totodile. He seemed to not care about Chucks relation to a gym leader.

Adam seemed intruiged "Im from Vermillion City in Kanto. My grandfather lives in Olivine City." he said as he shuffled into his bag and pulled out a S.S. Anne Ticket. "I came here with this and have resided in Olivine City for about a year." Rex slowed down and walked up to Azure holding out his paw. He let out a rather happy hissing sound.

"The names Adam.... my apologies for not looking my best.... I kinda hiked my way here from Olivine City." replied Adam as he seemed to open up. He then looked at the Totodile. "His name is Rex... I can already tell he will be quite the troublemaker."

The Totodile seemed excited and very happy. You could even call it jolly. He ran about in circles around the Cyndaquil as it appeared. He seemed fast for a Totodile. "You seem pretty happy to be outside." Adam said to the energetic Totodile. The pokemon seemed to ignore him and continue to run around.

I just realized how badass of a theme song Wally has in the new games.
