  1. Manel Fienna, Sondon, Attending the King's feastManel smiled calmly as she nodded to the outraged babble of the lady to her right, something about servants and incompetency. She resisted the urge to point out that the perfect example of incompetency was right in front of her. The poor, garish fool would catch the word perfect and miss the rest, more likely than not. She and her husband were the worst sort of noble, blood sucking parasites that took everything their citizens had and then got upset with them for not preparing for the winter when they starved. The lady to her left was hardly better, a shallow ornament with no skills to speak of and even fewer admirable qualities. Manel had already prayed to every deity she could think of, twice, that they could start planning or doing something useful or that she would be stabbed to death with a salad spoon. Anything to avoid having to engage in small talk with these blithering idiots for another hour. With a perfectly sincere and friendly smile still fixed to her face, the lady of Thromoni looked around the room, noting the positions of the guards. There were only four of her own here, necessary out of respect for the King's defenses. Armor was discarded in favor of a dress for the same reason. She had worn her sword, as that could be passes off as a symbol of status. Hmm. The princess was here, as were Draksis Gunthore and the fey. One figure stood out that she didn't know, though, a woman wearing a red cloak. Interesting. People were beginning to settle down, and the simpleton ladies quieted after following her gaze up the table. Just as well, because it looked like things were going to get started soon.
  2. You're fine. Sorry, I wasn't trying to get mad at people, or anything, just point it out. It wouldn't be fair if I didn't tell you and then had Bri get suspicious because Mithos said something that didn't line up with Matthew's abilities.
  3. Name: Manel Fienna Gender: Female Race: Human Age (if fey, keep in mind that they are immortal, but can appear like a certain age): 34 Appearance: Magic (if any): None Weapons: Sword, Crossbow (if they have these yet. Do they?), and Shield. Personality: Fiercely loyal to her King and Country, Manel is willing to do whatever it takes to help her people. She is untrusting and often presents an icy exterior, but those who know her well say that the Lady of the Black Shores is clever, gentle, and kind. Biography: Manel was born as the only child of the Lord and Lady of Thromoni, a large Fief on the freezing coasts of the Kingdom of Sondon. She was raised learning strategy, combat, and all the ins and outs needed for managing their domain. After her father was killed defending a nearby town from a raid and her mother was taken by disease, the twenty one year old Manel Fienna took over, strengthening her army and fortifying the beaches of Thromoni more than had been seen in centuries. Although the coasts had always had dark sands, legend says that they were stained black with the blood of the enemies of Sondon when they dared cross the path of Lady Fienna. This resulted in the title by which she is best known, the Lady of the Black Shores. Manel knows of her King's plan to strengthen their kingdom, and although she distrusts magic, preferring to rely on her own strength alone, she supports him fully. She is currently working to build her forces even further so that when her monarch calls, Thromoni Fief will be ready with the most powerful army in the lands to answer. Edit: Changed the Fief's name to match the map. Name: Amina Gender: Female Race: Oneiroi Age (if fey, keep in mind that they are immortal, but can appear like a certain age): Appears around 23 Appearance: Magic (if any): Controlling and viewing the dreams of the sleeping (limited range). Manipulating the minds of awake opponents with illusions. Weapons: A staff. Personality: Very calm, quiet, caring, optimistic, and curious. Due to the nature of her job, Amina is nocturnal, and dislikes bright light and loud noises. Biography: Amina is an oneiros, a guardian of dreams and a dark winged child of night and sleep. She and her siblings help the fey by bringing them dreams of comfort and cheer, but also sometimes warnings. Amina is a bit of a prodigy at this, manipulating the dream to bring forth memories to help people who have forgotten something and to give hope. Her powers continue to grow as she works with them, and although she fears the consequences that the three fey who visited the Underworld may bring, she continues to hope for the futures of her people. (Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to change.)
  4. I love all of you lovely people, but it seems like everyone is sort of missing two points, one of which I should have clarified and the other just a behavioral thing. 1- (further clarification) Only two of Matthew's psynergy moves cause permanent alterations to the surrounding area: the smallest form of growth, which will leave a single vine behind, and move. The rest sink back into the earth after a few seconds because... Psynergy and video game logic. 2- Taking more time arguing would not have helped innocent bystanders unless one of the Beta players decided to run an evacuation, and no one did. Why? NPCs- "Many of them are warriors assisting the Beta Players and their Partners in the Final Clash world. Others are corrupted by the Evo virus to serve as henchmen for the Evos and their players." The NPCs know what is going on, and they are warriors just as powerful as our characters minus the Synth special abilities. They can choose to fight or not on their own, but a flashy move like Grand Gaia should be enough of a warning to anyone who wanted to run. Other uninvolved players- People are attracted to conflict with no consequence. They would probably run away at the first sign of gunfire, but crowd around a fight in a high school hallway (adolescent, but many of these players can be assumed to be not too much older). In a video game world where there are no real consequences, an argument like this would seem interesting and entertaining, and once the fight started it would be more likely to draw a crowd than scare one off. (Come on, Dante vs Sephiroth? You know you would watch too.) So, there's that. Bri is a dirty combat pragmatist, and Matthew is sort of lacking in fair play, but they aren't trying to murder innocents.
  5. Shantae was busy now, and he had no doubt that his friend could handle it, but Matthew noticed his individual attacks weren't doing any good. Soma was trying to clear out some of the stronger taboo noise, maybe he could help with that. The adept cut noise out of his way as he ran towards the Neoclassical Drakes, jumping into the air to gain momentum and attacking the one Soma was focusing on from behind. He followed up his first vertical slash with a horizontal cut, then a stab.
  6. Hey Aqua, just a heads up, I will be camping without any internet from Wednesday morning to Saturday afternoon. I can handle that however works best for you. Matthew isn't doing anything too important right now, so it shouldn't be a big deal, but if anyone wants to babysit for me, that's fine too. Matthew is friendly but has to start watching his PP use right now, and Bri... Tries pretty hard to be friendly most of the time. She just dislikes things that are inefficient. And isn't afraid to say it.
