  3. Merry Christmas, all. Mayhaps we shall speak soon.
  4. HOLY CRAP, I'M BACK. How does that even happen?
  5. And so, one male DVI to female HDMI adapter and a USB-C to female HDMI adapter later, my GT73VR is running three screens. https://puu.sh/vymgj/7959226954.jpg
  6. Just got done moving roughly 3 carloads full of Lego bags from my old house to the new one. I swear to god, my mother should have stopped while she was ahead. We have two original Millenium Falcons, for christ's sake.
  7. 2 was...kind of a train wreck, to be honest. I really hope that Pixar can make up the momentum they lost with 3. This looks AMAZING.

  11. ...man, having to reinstall Skyrim Special Edition in order to fix my crashing issues is frustrating.
  12. ...kind of wish my family would stop criticising me for being single when I'm making an effort to finish my last year of college. It's getting REALLY annoying...
  13. The moment the bell rang, Seth was out the door. He had quickly packed up his laptop and started on his way to his favorite spot on the school grounds, the lake in the backyard, without another word to the students from before. There was no need to deal with them, at least, not for a while. Besides, maybe Steven would help him find out what was wrong with his computer, even if it was a widespread thing. The boy sighed as he made his way through the hallways, shaking his head. Whatever this was, it was no normal event... Seth passed through the door to the playground for the younger students in the back of the school, passing by the young children that had gathered outside now that their long, toiling day of schooling was overwith, and made his way up and over the hill directly in front of him. He sighed as he stopped for a moment to admire the view. This had been the spot he would always come to study at, free from the ire of the more rowdy students where he could read in peace. The boy walked a short distance down the hill towards the familiar maple tree, the leaves a deep, crimson red, as they were year-round. There were a few just like it at the bottom of the hill, but this was the one that Seth always sat under. He tossed his bag to the ground, laying against the wood and balancing his perch with a leg, pulling out his laptop once more to survey the damage. He cocked an eyebrow at the screen, where an odd, pale purple symbol had appeared in the center...almost like two spirits circling each other. "...the heck is this?"
  14. Seth sighed as he turned back to his computer, shaking his head. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. No computer meant he wouldn't be able to take notes on the lecture...and by extension, it meant that he couldn't bite back at that one poster who had insulted his knowledge of the card game. Oh well, it couldn't be helped. He closed the lid of his laptop, laying his head on his desk, his arms crossed in front of him. If the day could be over soon, that would be great. As the day went on, things...didn't seem to improve. The instructor had issues getting the projector to work (Seth had attempted to assist him in configuration, but the screen was filled with the same blue cascading numbers), students were unable to connect to the network, and even the televised announcements were acting up. And then...the repeated message made Seth perk up from his desk. Digidestined...no. He had to have imagined it. That term was anything but related to this incident...but the longer it went on, the more the gears in his head began to turn. This was beyond abnormal...
  15. Ladies and gentlemen, Subject Theta MK.II is now LIVE. Good lord, I never realized how much difference a 120Hz/5ms screen would make on a gaming laptop. This thing is a MONSTER.
  16. Seth shook his head, turning back to his laptop screen with a sigh. Popular kids. He was about to return to his screen and return to browsing when the display went black. "Oh for the love of..." What the heck was that about? His laptop had been running just fine last night...what was wrong with it? From the noise behind him, this wasn't just his equipment. Fishing his phone out from his bag, the boy cocked an eyebrow as it too had gone dark. Was it a blackout? Perhaps some electromagnetic interference? He hoped that it hadn't fried the electronics in his equipment...that would be the absolute worst, especially for the rest of the day. Seth rapped on the side of the panel, feverishly pressing the power button on his laptop. Come on, turn on...he couldn't remove the battery, as it was screwed tightly into the chassis as per the manufacturer's custom design aesthetic. Whatever the case, he didn't want to have to pay for repairs. A few moments later, the screen turned back on, and seemed to be black...until a falling scroll of cyan blue symbols began falling down the display. Something really freaky was going on right now...and whatever it was, it wasn't letting him access his laptop. A virus, maybe? The boy had made sure to keep his antivirus suite updated, so there was no way...unless this was a zero-day vulnerability. Oh boy, wouldn't that be fun... He turned once more in the reverse direction, eying the girls and TJ with mild alarm. Knowing his luck, they were going to blame this on him...great. Just great.
  17. <"Roger that."> The boy sighed, stretching a bit in his chair. Damn, what a morning this was turning out to be...first his awkward morning, now having to step in on a bully to protect someone else's privacy. It was mildly uncharacteristic of him to interfere in those sorts of events...well, not in person, anyway. He rolled his eyes at the sound of the fawning girls in class as they crowded around TJ. Seth hadn't truly been introduced to the guy over his past few years in the school; he actively avoided his type, if only because he didn't want to be involved in it. He knew that the popular boy was the object of every student's fantasy: girls wanted him, guys wanted to be him. Well, except for Seth. And yet, something sat in the back of his mind. He had been the first to react to the situation before it worsened, and yet, it didn't do anything for his outward image. Was it because he was anti-social? Because he actively avoided contact with others? He wasn't that good with computers, but what skill he did have often showed. There had been the off-time when a random student would work up the courage to approach him and ask about computer repairs, only to pawn off his ability and gloat about how they fixed their computer all by themselves. Seth crossed his arms, glancing back in TJ's direction out of the corner of his eye and narrowing them. Popular guys...damn, they irritated him. No girl would look twice in a tech specialist's direction with a guy like that in class.
  18. The only good thing about today is that my MSI GT73VR will be shipping out soon, and I threw $85 at an airbrush studio for a custom airbrushed Gundam shirt. The only thing I have to be thankful for is that being single has given me the money to do ANYTHING...and I feel like a selfish prick because of it. Oh well. =_=
  19. Seth sighed with relief as he loosened up slightly, still watching as the bully gave up and returned to his seat. Good riddance. He had better things to do than deal with people like him...over the years, he had learned to brush off the insults thrown at him, but seeing things like this happen made his neck bristle. The boy rarely intervened; nothing had escalated this far before. Maybe because the target had been a girl? The boy shook his head, coming out of his thoughts and blushing awkwardly at Jessie's thanks. "Er...yeah. it's...fine..." Seth took that moment to quickly return to his seat before he had to say anything else. Talking to others in the open wasn't something he was used to, and it was quite obvious to others. He sighed, returning to his messenger. <"Sorry about that, man. Something came up in class...bullies."> No doubt, he would likely run into that girl later...he was almost completely sure of it.
  20. Oh, hello again my most depressing and hated holiday. Where's my vodka...
  21. The boy seemed to be engrossed in his laptop for the next few minutes, not noticing the two girls that had just walked into the classroom. He always had the tendency to completely ignore everyone when he got involved in something; for the moment, it was reading about the new expansion packs for the Digimon card game...there were certainly some interesting ones in the roster for this month. Maybe they'd be worth investing in when he had the time...but, of course, school came first. The most he could do was make assumptions as to how they would fit into a deck... A small pop-up on his screen did nothing to break him away from finishing up a post, before he acknowledged the small pop-up window titled with a familiar name. He had synced up his texts to a web-based service, so he got alerts even while in class. A sneaky way to go about taking notes while texting, but it certainly helped in the case of an emergency. His phone was always on silent, anyway...it wasn't like many people called him. Seth smirked, recognizing the familiar tag. Shoot, that was right...he and Steven were going to hang out after school today. How could he have forgotten? He managed to get out a quick <"We'll see."> before the commotion from the back of the classroom made him look away and quickly turn his head to spot a dark brown-haired girl who seemed to be on the verge of tears. The snooty boy seemed to be waving something small and metallic above her head, sneering at the screen as he looked through her personal photographs...that was a camera, right? Something inside of him clicked as he cocked his eyebrow. He was unsure what to do, and yet it felt like he had to do something. A person's personal device was their property...no bully deserved to know the contents without permission, and that was something that Seth knew well. Acting purely on instinct, the boy got up from his chair and approached the two, glaring at the other boy with disdain. "Taking someone's phone without permission, as well as accessing their data is an invasion of privacy. Give it back. Now." Seth sounded almost terse as he stood there, pressing the bully to refrain from his antics and return the camera before things got ugly. When it came to technology, he was all business, and he wasn't going to just sit by and watch this happen.
  22. Aaaaaaaand the email to MSI for my GT laptop trade-in is finally out, after three months of saving and waiting. This is going to be freaking AWESOME.
  23. Seth slowed down as he came within a short distance of the school, panting as he came to a stop at a nearby street sign to catch his breath. He was going to have to ask his mom where the bike pump had ended up when he returned home for the evening...of all the dumb luck. The boy glanced at his watch, breathing a sigh of relief at the current time. Five more minutes; it looked like he was going to make it in time after all. When his pulse had calmed down enough, Seth passed through the familiar school gates, making his way inside. All he had to do was get to his seat before the teacher walked in, and he'd be set. He ignored the odd glances that he received from the students milling about the grounds; as if they hadn't seen a student hurrying to be on time for a class before. It took him a few minutes to find the right classroom, ducking into the bathroom across the hall just long enough to sort himself out. Looking at himself in the mirror, his hair had become disheveled and his glasses had slipped down the bridge of his nose...and that was not going to stay that way. After cleaning his glasses off on the bottom of his shirt and running his hands through his hair a few times, Seth looked at the very least...presentable. Well, as presentable as he normally looked. He smiled slightly at his reflection, taking a deep breath and exhaling as he approached the classroom door and walked inside. As he crossed the front of the room, Seth managed a few quick furtive glances out of the corner of his eye at the students that had arrived before he did. None of them looked familiar to him...well, that was to be expected from a new school semester, anyway. His seat by the window in the second row was, as usual, vacant. Nobody wanted to intrude on that section of the classroom for some reason...were they apprehensive about being close to the teacher? That had to be it. Seth didn't mind it, though; it gave him just the right vantage point to take notes and check the message boards that he frequented often. Nothing beat taking notes and simultaneously reading about the new card games that were popping up these days. From time to time, he'd post pictures of the robot models that were in progress; the boy had made a name for himself on those communities as the mysterious entity known as TABRIS, adopting the moniker as a way for him to avoid posting personal photos and putting himself out on the public domain as much as possible. Seth slipped into his seat, hooking his bag on the edge of the desk and pulling out his laptop; a smaller, black-painted brushed aluminum model with a jet fighter motif. Upon closer inspection, there appeared to be a decal of a drifting yellow sports car in the center of the lid, pop-up headlights being one of its notable aesthetics.
