  1. That’s an image I won’t soon forget
  2. mmm skillet biscuits

  4. Quadratum. Just because A) it’s vital to KH4 B) we know so little about it.
  5. Nomura has made games over less. Reminder that he literally came up with Coded while drunk.
  6. I highly doubt Strel dragged him back singlehandedly, so...that means Sora just kinda crashed on her couch like a hobo.
  7. Haha I'll certainly try
  8. Personally, I headcanon Riku swears like a sailor
  9. If anything, living rural places you closer to shrines, and there's few places on earth more beautiful than a shinto shrine
  10. I'd probably live in a rural area and just commute to the city if necessary.
  11. Well, the experience is what I want. It would be a great resume builder.
  12. I just hesitate because the grass may not be quite as green as it seems over there. There's a good chance I'd be even more of an outcast over there than I already am.
  13. I've often thought about teaching in Japan for a year or two. What's it like living there?
  14. But I don't like to look at kids that way. I believe in them because...well...if I don't, who will? Getting along with each other on this world is hard enough as it is, and if I can make it just a bit easier...well, I can die happy. And I say that as someone who's seen the worst of what public education does to people. That's all I really want out of being a teacher: make the world just a bit more tolerable for the poor neglected souls forced to endure it Equip them for a world that will do all it can to bring them down Fortify them into people who can overcome adversity
  15. And in that case, they simply can't be taught. You'll always find a few. Can't save everyone.
  16. Oh absolutely. The significance of say...the Civil War cannot be overstated, but it was never taught to me that way. For me it was "learn about the Civil War OR ELSE".
  17. As someone who's studying to become a teacher, I'll say this. Any teacher worth his salt can make ANYTHING engaging. In fact, that's part of the job. Science proves that students who are engaged learn faster and more effectively than those who aren't.
  18. Well, hey, it's not my fault school makes learning history about as fun as filing a tax return. While getting a lobotomy.
  19. Whether bad or good, it's the truth. And we can either ignore it or learn from it. Those who learn from history grow to be wise and prosperous. Those who don't get consumed by history.
  20. You can blame society for this one. People don't want to acknowledge that most of human history revolves around fighting over land. Fighting that primarily resulted in death.
  21. People who say otherwise clearly don't understand Disney history very well Walt was well known for getting serious and dramatic when the plot called for it. Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are great examples of that. The best example, however? No joke? Education For Death Seriously, that short does a fantastic job portraying the pure evil of the Nazis. Even beyond that, Pluto's Judgment Day. In that short, Pluto very nearly goes on trial for chasing cats and very nearly goes to hell, with the only thing stopping him being the fact that it's a dream. In more modern times, we have A Goofy Movie: a very down-to-earth film about the relationship between Goofy and his son.
  22. Well this year needs saving, anyway
  23. If you end up playing it, I'd love to listen!
  24. You'd better not, young man, or you can forget about dessert!
