We'd like to announce the joining of two new staff members to KH13! sqexgal and goldpanner will be joining us from HEARTSTATION.ORG. They will act as our official translators, have the ability to edit pages on the site, and may occasionally submit news. We're really privileged to have them here, and we hope you make them both feel welcome! On a related note, we're happy to announce who we will be sending to E3 2011. sqexgal, mentioned before, will be attending on behalf of KH13. This means we should be able to get exclusive coverage, including photos and videos of the event! We hope you're looking forward to this. E3 2011 will start on 7 June, in only 5 days.

We've been working hard over the last week to develop a new section for you. And now, we are going to reveal that section to you. It is the music archive. This archive, which you can access in the main menu in the header, as well as in the links panel on the left-hand side of most pages, has each and every Kingdom Hearts song available for you to listen to. One of the major features is the "Shuffle" page, which takes you to a random song and plays it, going to a new song when the first finishes. We would love for you to check this out! In addition to that, we also have individual pages for each soundtrack and each song, in case you had something specific in mind. We hope you enjoy this new section! It will be updated over the next few days, so you can look forward to even more features, but in the meantime please browse the archive and enjoy music from Kingdom Hearts. As we reported last week, the reason for the lack of updates from us recently is that we have been working on a major new section of KH13.com. While we aren't going to tell you what it is yet, we can tell you that we will release it tomorrow, at 11AM EST. The new section will be as important as Videos and the Gallery, and something we think the majority of you will enjoy! Please look forward to it, and feel free to discuss what you think it will be at our forum.

Upcoming KH13.com project & Kingdom Hearts at E3 2011

While we haven't had many updates to report in the last couple days, not to worry! That's because we've been working behind-the-scenes to bring you a major new section of KH13.com. While we aren't going to tell you what it is yet, we can tell you that this new section is on the scale of our Videos and Gallery sections. So, what do you think it is? Let us know by leaving a comment at our forum. Secondly, we wanted to discuss E3 2011 with you. E3 2011 has been the subject of much discussion lately. While it is certain that Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will appear at the event, it is unknown if any other future Kingdom Hearts titles will appear or not. However, we could like you to check out this reasoning of why other Kingdom Hearts titles WILL appear. It is written by Grass from KHInsider and is very informative and well-reasoned. Anyway, we hope you look forward to all future updates! -
Higher quality versions of the English cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories have been added to our video archive. There are 99 cutscenes, and all have been extracted from the game, meaning they are in amazing quality and look clean due to the lack of subtitles. Weekly graphics and video competitions? What do you think?

KH13.com are considering two weekly competitions-- both a weekly graphics competition (where people can upload signatures, avatars and drawings of Kingdom Hearts), and a video competition (where people can upload their fan-made music videos, or perhaps some Kingdom Hearts parody). So, our question is, which of these competitions (if any. Or both?) would you be interested in, and would you participate? Secondly, would you like an area to upload videos on the website, or are you happy using YouTube? Let us know in the comments at our forum, and we hope you look forward to these competitions. -
Just to let you know what's been happening recently with KH13.com. There was some downtime earlier today due to us upgrading our servers to new ones that will be faster and more reliable. No posts have been lost except for those made during the upgrade earlier today, so feel free to continue posting on the forum (as the upgrade is now complete). Sometime over the next 24 hours, our resources will be increased, meaning much less SQL errors for KH13.

How's everyone enjoying the new website? Just a small update today, to let you know what's been done recently. Since our last update, where among other things, the poll of the day was announced, various parts of KH13.com have been updated. - Under each news article on the homepage, the date the article was posted, and categories the article is included in now appear. This will allow for people to more easily find the news they want to find! - Our site-wide search function has been updated, brought over to the new website's design. This search, which is accessible in the "menu bar" (the dark blue bar in the header), allows people to search the whole of KH13.com. - Our forum's homepage has had a slight redesign, with links to different forum components moved to the top of the page. This includes the forum search, member list, status updates, staff member listing and active content features. You might not have been aware of these features before, so now is the perfect time to check it out! - Incidentally, these pages are the pages we are currently working on making look sexy. So far, the forum search, member list and active content pages have been brought up to this high standard. Keep checking back as we continue to update KH13.com! While today's updates were mostly to do with how things look, we have plenty of exciting new features coming up, such as comments on all pages, as well as video and image uploading sections. Exciting stuff, stay tuned!

For the first time since March 2009, we have upgraded KH13.com's hosting plan to a more expensive "business" plan. While this might not mean much to you, hopefully, this should stop the random errors that cause downtime on the website, leading to a better experience for everyone. ^ No more of this. You may have noticed that the homepage of KH13.com has gone through some changes recently! This is all part of our plan to continuously improve the website while we wait for more Kingdom Hearts news. Very exciting stuff, so we hope you keep checking back. Anyway, onto the updates... - Our forum has been more closely integrated with the homepage. You'll notice that "recent topics" and "recent status updates" now appear on the homepage, meaning you can more easily see all the recent website updates in one place. - Links to our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages now appear on the right-hand side of our homepage! - Lastly, we now have a "poll of the day" feature on the homepage! In addition to our news being updated approximately once a day, you will also have a daily question to answer! As you can see there's a lot of exciting stuff going on, so we hope you come back every day to check it out.

- As you've probably seen, our news system has received an upgrade. While most of this is behind-the-scenes, some public features include better page selection (see the bottom of the homepage), as well as category selection above the news. - There was an issue with our gallery where albums that included both subalbums and images did not display the images. This has now been resolved, as seen here. - Our games and media sections have been updated with a lot of new content. If you want to get involved, please check out the Content Project where you can report errors, make corrections and even edit the website.

As you probably know, Kingdom Hearts news has been scarce lately. However, this isn't to say that it's not worth frequenting KH13.com. We have many upcoming projects and changes that we know you'll be interested in! Firstly, we've decided that we will give you an update every day. This means every day, there will be some interesting article in the news to get you thinking about Kingdom Hearts. Sometimes, this will be a question of the day or something similar, where we bring up a topic and get you to give your best response. The last topic we asked was "What are you hoping to see at E3 2011?". Your best responses to this question can be seen at our forum! However, more importantly... KH13.com Version 3, a redesign of our website is well underway. You may have noticed that we upgraded our forum, complete with new forum software including features such as profile comments, status updates and basically a much better design for everything. However, there's much more to come! The whole rest of the site is in the process of being updated to match the new design, so please keep checking back as we near the completion of the new homepage, games, videos, media and gallery sections. Currently, we have plans to release the new site early Friday morning, so make sure to check back tomorrow! We'll keep you updated on these changes. :)

As we announced earlier in the week, KH13.com is undergoing a complete redesign. Finally, we have released the initial part of this design-- an updated version of our forum. Obviously, this is a work in progress, but you can see what things will generally look like. So, we'd like to invite you to tell us what you think by leaving a comment at our forum! If you're experiencing any problems, then please post them there too. Please look forward to future updates, as we will be changing over the rest of the website in the following weeks.

Finally, we're nearing the rollout of the next redesign of KH13.com, dubbed Version 3. Since we last redesigned the site in January 2009, things have remained relatively the same until now. However, we're happy to announce that this redesign will first start being used at 8AM EST on Thursday, 14 April 2011. Although Version 3 will mean a new look to every part of the website, we are deciding to reveal this one section at a time. So, on Thursday, the first part to be changed over will be the forum. We hope you enjoy this, and keep checking back as we continue to bring you improvements.

KH13.com's gallery has seen continuous updates throughout March 2011. Since we last reported about additions to the gallery in February 2011, many new albums have been created, and old ones updated. Below, we will describe these changes in detail. All manga series have been updated with the cover pages for each volume. Specifically, we have updated the Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days manga to include cover pages. We have added multiple novels to the gallery from the 358/2 Days series. In particular, we have added Volume 1, Volume 2 and Volume 3. We have also updated the 358/2 Days manga with Chapter 9. Lastly, there are various minor updates to report. Chapter 21 of the Kingdom Hearts II manga has been uploaded in better quality, while the Square Enix Products Facebook page has been updated, as well as the collection of Re:coded screenshots from Gamekyo. KH13.com's gallery aims to provide the community with the largest collection of articles and screenshots, as well as other images, related to the Kingdom Hearts series. This is an ongoing effort, and more content is continuously being added. Please check back regularly to see what new content we update with, and feel free to comment and tell us if there's anything you want to see.

KH13.com's games section provides information about each title in the Kingdom Hearts series. This includes general information, as well as plot lines, cover images, official website and more. We'd just like to let you know, these pages have been updated and are now up to date. So, please check them out for information about the series. If you believe something is incorrect, or have anything to add, you can always do so in our "Games" project. As always, keep checking back as we add more content. Secondly, we'd like to announce the winners for our earlier contest, which was coming up with a possible plot for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Many factors were taken into account, including creativity and how well-supported ideas were. You can find out the winners here, and stay tuned for our next competition.

A Square Enix event is currently being held in Tokyo, Japan. This event is known as the 1st Production Department Premiere, and will feature Kingdom Hearts 3D and Birth by Sleep Final Mix, as well as other Square Enix titles. Trailers for these games will be featured and streamed online. As the event is currently underway, our coverage of it now begins. Above is the game's trailer, in great quality. Our video archive for 3D is now open, where you can download the trailer. In addition, so far, various Japanese blogs have reported that the official title of Kingdom Hearts 3D is Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. According to Andriasang.com, the following has been said about Dream Drop Distance by Yasue, part of Square Enix. Yasue says the game will make use of 3D, having such elements as "falling from high places" and "flying far distances." They're placing a lot of work on the action part of the game, offering a major sense of speed. Yasue also promises a game that makes use of the various functionalities of the 3DS. You'll trade off between Sora and Riku. The game's tempo and strategic feel will all be fresh. Famitsu.com → January 18, 2011 Kingdom Hearts is about to reach its tenth anniversary and the story is finally reaching its climax. This will be the prologue to the final battle, and as always it will be filled with surprises for the players. This time, to show those "surprises" I decided to use the "Nintendo 3DS". A completely new [battle] system is being prepared and that will give you an idea on how the next "Kingdom Hearts" [games] are going to be, with even more exhilarating action. I hope you look forward to it. Famitsu.com have written an article about Dream Drop Distance, which includes screenshots, and the information that a world will be based on the movie The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Also, Nomura made a comment related to the game, translated by Kingdom Hearts Insider. This can be seen above. Lastly, Square Enix have opened their official website for the game, which includes the new logo.

Re:coded has been released in English. Accordingly, we have set up a coverage thread on our forum, and here, any new videos, content or information concerning Re:coded will be posted as soon as it appears. In the interest of preventing spoilers, we will keep the majority of content on the coverage page, but here is a summary of what you can find so far: UPDATE 2: The playthrough is now approximately 1.5 hours into the game. Be sure to check it out below. Also, don't forget to read the recent news relating to Birth by Sleep Final Mix. UPDATE: Our archive of English Re:coded cutscenes is now complete. These can be viewed or downloaded in amazing quality in our video archive. - An in-progress playthrough of the game, thanks to EmiruTheKnight. Nintendo World 2011 has begun in Japan. At this event, the Nintendo 3DS and specifically Kingdom Hearts 3D are to be featured. So far, an information page has been revealed, showing new screenshots from the game. It can be seen below. Also, impressions from various sources, translated by Kingdom Hearts Insider can be read below. Nintendo World 2011 At the beginning Sora and Riku are looking at the ocean on Destiny Islands, when suddenly, some kind of light comes out of Riku's body and he collapses. In the next instant Riku disappears. Sora runs all over the island calling his name, gliding around to search for him. The scene changes, and Sora is sitting on the island's Paopu tree, seeming like he's dozing or sleeping. The scenes of Traverse Town and the fights that happen there, which were shown at E3, are not shown. The 3D really seems three dimensional, it's amazing! Even the clip looked a lot better than videos on the current hardware. The 3D feels more like it extends deep into the image, rather than jumping out at you. I thought, I want to play KH 3D soon. + Sora and Riku are at Destiny Island during a cutscene and they might be watching something fall over the sea. (Not sure on this latter part.) + Riku suddenly disappears at one point or exits scene. + Sora is seen sleeping on the paopu tree they all hang around. + "The 3D is amazing!"

As many of you know, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is a remake of a title previously exclusive to Japan, Kingdom Hearts coded. In this sense, Re:coded is a new title, with unexplored secrets and aspects, which we will cover here at KH13.com. Accordingly, we have set up a coverage thread on our forum, and here, any new videos, content or information concerning Re:coded will be posted as soon as it appears.
