The team behind Final Fantasy 14 has announced they are ceasing support for the PS3 version once Stormblood launches. Therefore, once Stormblood releases, you'll have to play it on PC or PS4. Director Naoki Yoshida has thanked everyone for buying it on PS3, as that was essential to the game's rebirth with A Realm Reborn.
The PC version of Final Fantasy 14 will have it's minimum specs raised after Stormblood releases. Yoshida was also asked about NX support, to which he stated that they want everyone to be playing on the same servers.
I'm glad that Square Enix have abandoned PS3 after all this time, now the expansion packs for this game can be a lot more demanding since they don't need to worry about the PS3 being too weak. Anyway, who asks for NX support? We haven't had a mainline Final Fantasy game on a nintendo platform since FF6.... All the terrible side games like Crystal Chronicles got the DS treatment and the last decent thing we saw on that were the remakes of FF3 and FF4.
