Nintendo Says No More Nintendo Switch Details Until 2017

Posted

Looks like we won't hear about the price of the console or the specs until sometime next year. But that's alright by me. 2017 isn't a long wait anyway.

So, it comes out in March 2017...that means they're just going to talk about it practically RIGHT before release? Not enough time. That's seriously a bad approach in my opinion. They should have details and what not leading up to the release starting now, not whatever this plan they have is. Sort of like the PS4 and Xbox One. You learned about those over quite a period of time.

Actually, as long as it's a Switch focused direct at the beginning of Jan, people should be fine about it, no problem from my side. I only wanted a name yesterday, and they shpwed the system and a few games , so I'm pretty happy with the reveal. Now my only concern is price, but there's plenty of time for that. BTW: Switch is what I've always wanted for a console: take the best AAA titles on the go without the need of a TV. Props to Nintendo on this.

From a business standpoint, I can totally see where they're coming from: Let's look at Nintendo's calendar from now till January 2017...

November: Primary focus upon promoting Pokemon Sun and Moon, and with the increased fanbase thanks to Pokemon Go, more New 3DS units sold.

December: Promote the hell out of the NES Classic Edition. Use that as a means to re-coupe-rate the losses that the Wii U made over the years...

Nintendo's like that best friend you knew for years who moved out of town and only comes to visit for like one day every 6 months, but it's usually whenever you're out of town or are too busy to hang out. X)"

No more details on the console till next year, huh? Well, I can wait! Let's hope I'm convinced enough to end up getting a Switch, ya know?
