What is the Castle in the KH 2.8 Opening Cinematic?

Posted

I have watched the opening cinematic a few times now, and there is one question that has been bothering me.  What is that castle that has its lights put out by the seekers of darkness circling it?  I don't recognize it at all and am wondering if anyone knows what castle it is.  It has to be important if the seekers of darkness put its light out, right?

From the looks of it I say that's the castle from Castle of Dreams. Remember 0.2 Birth by Sleep A Fragmentary Passage takes place in Cinderella's world and that's it.

Actually I think the castle in the 0.2 intro is the castle shown before Disney films, and the orbs of darkness circling it and essentially shutting the lights symbolizes the Disney worlds falling to darkness.

i assumed it was the Castle of Dreams. Considering this is the intro to 0.2, and the Castle of Dreams is going to appear as a playable area, it would make sense to include it.

Funny thing is, the castle shown at the beginning of Disney films is Cinderella's Castle, the one from Disney World in Florida and most of the other Magic Kingdoms around the world. I think Disney Land in California is the only one to use a different castle, specifically Sleeping Beauty Castle.

I thought it was Castle of Dreams too, but I actually looked up Sleeping Beauty Castle and, well, turns out it's Enchanted Dominion.

They must have modeled it after the one in the park, which looks very different from the one in the animated film.
