Epic Games Japan says many Unreal Engine 4 games heading to Nintendo Switch

Posted

According to Takayuki Kawasaki, territory manager for Epic Games Japan, a lot of Japanese-developed games are being ported to Nintendo Switch, including many already-announced titles. Do you think one of those games could be Kingdom Hearts III? Considering Dragon Quest XI is also headed for the Switch, it's looking more and more likely that Kingdom Hearts 3 could have a chance to be ported to the platform as well.

I think there's always the possibility of this but not necessarily at launch with PS4 and Xbox, perhaps a year after the orginal launch it may get ported. I think the opportunity is there if they wish to do so.

Square Enix would go for it without a doubt. Japan loves Nintendo console. After all, Wii U sales domestically was fairly on par with the PS4. If Unreal Engine was capable on the Wii U, I'd go as far as to say that Nomura would have placed it on that system.

Plus, Kingdom Hearts has had plenty of entries with Nintendo systems: Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, Re: Coded and Dream Drop Distance. It makes more sense for the game to be on the Switch as opposed to the Xbox One that's for sure.

I don't see it happend. Maybe a future KH-Game.

In the future, but not now do I think if it will happen with a KH title. Let's not be certain it will happen though.

Yes, but it will be after KH3 comes out. I'd say a few months later. I don't mind it being on Switch.

I don't think it's fair to complain about the Xbox One version but be cool with a Switch one.
