I may have to go to court...........

Posted

So a few days ago I was walking home from Work like I always do when someone shoved me from behind.

I did'nt know who it was so my first reaction was to punch, so when I turned around to defend myself It was someone who I had hoped I would NEVER see again.

His name was Brian, and all through High school and college this guy had treated me like %^$#.

Almost everyday this A-hole would wait for me to get to school just so he could call me a gentleman and beat the hell outta me. At the time I was a sheltered wimp and did nothing.

So anyways as soon as I saw him I tried to walk away, because really I felt sorry for him now. He looked like a mess, I remember being terrified of him...but now he was just pathetic, he was grossly over weight and looked like he had not showered for weeks.

But when I was trying to walk away he started cussing at me like he used to, I Ignored it, we are adults and Its the appropriate thing to do, and frankly I was more shocked at the fact that he would act this way in public.

I mean really, I'm 22 so that would make him about 24, how could someone be such a loser?

So I continued to walk away and he started following me, ok I thought, this is getting bad, but I just kept walking.

He followed me for 7 freaking blocks! and then I was done. So I started swearing and telling him to F off, but he just got angrier, and I could not freaking believe what he did next, he threw a freaking rock at me, not a little rock either, were talking about tennis ball size.

So I told him I'm calling the police.

As I was getting my phone he started insulting my Boyfriend. I'm ok with a lot of things, making fun of me for being gay is fine; but he brought my Boyfriend into the picture and I lost it.

I beat the crap out of him, not like school yard fight either I mean REALLY beat the crap out of him.

The police came and I told my story and then was able to go home, I tried to forget about it, but then the police called me a few days later saying that he's going to try to press charges, the police say it probly wont happen, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a case; but I'm still a little worried.

At first I thought: Sexual Assault?

But seriously, I don't think you made an offense. That guy followed you and bothered you. I would hve beat him up too. Don't worry.

It sounds like he's a total jerk. ._.

Even if you do have to go to court, there's no way they'd believe him. I mean, he stalked your for seven blocks? Why would they blame it on you?

wow well good luck. i hope the charges are not that bad.

Man, in my opinion, you did the right thing. You tried to handle the situation professionally. The guy Brian did nothing but antagonize you through the whole ordeal. He deserved every punch to the face he got from you. I definitely would of kicked his ass if he brought a loved one into the situation, and threw a rock at me.

It sucks that you have to go to court, but like you said, he probably doesn't have a case. Hell, you can probably reverse the charges, since he was the first one to assault you.

He's immature for making fun of you in highschool.

He's immature now for freaking stalking you to try to make you miserable.

This guy obviously has no life.

I don't really support violence, but he did deserve that beating you gave him.

That sucks if you have to go to court though :/

wow well good luck. i hope the charges are not that bad.

"I hope the charges are not that bad"? xD

Did you read that very well?

Honestly, you were right to beat the fricking crap out of him.

Even if you do end up going to court for it, he doesn't even really have a solid case. ._.

First Hire a lawyer if he sues you if you have the money. The person with the lawyer has a huge advantage and if he hasn't taken a shower in weeks he sure sounds like he doesn't have the money for one which will put you at a huge advantage.

Try contacting the bystanders for witnesses (assuming there were witnesses). It may be a little difficult but with a little hunting you can figure out who saw the incident and ask them to help you out.

If there were security cameras nearby see if you can get access to the footage. This way you have solid evidence that he was following you and that he threw the stone.

If he puts charges on you, you can counter-sue him for harassment and assault. If you want you can mention what happened in school for the jury but what really matters is what happened now.

Get evidence that shows that he started it and that your attack was simple a means of self defense. Apologize for punching him but never forgive him for the things he did to you.

If your feeling really confident, you sure or press charges against him even if he doesn't do it to you. Just make sure you gather enough evidence and have a really good case which you have.

He sounds like a coward and probably wouldn't press charges from my point of view. If he is still obsessed with something that happened in highschool that he has serious problems. He hasn't showered for a while you say? He could be homeless or close to becoming homeless, only shows what kind of looser he is.

You should also try to see if he was under the influence of alcohol. That may be hard to do now considering it happened a few days ago.

Honestly if he does try to press charges and send you to court you would probably win. You may get fined for beating him up but he has no case and you do. This gentleman is harassing you and you tried to handle it maturely, then he started tossing stones and making insults. He deserve to have gotten the shit beat out of him. Hopefully he never makes it far in life.

Just do whatever you think is best and make sure you do it well.

Best of luck.

No problem, I plan on becoming a lawyer. I learned a lot of that stuff from court TV shows (and Ace Attorney games xD). Often it seems that whoever wins the case is the one with the most evidence. If he does press charges he doesn't seem that smart enough to gather a lot of evidence against you especially considering that isn't much against you to begin with. While you have the brain capacity to figure out how to get everything that points at him. :D

yeah, eterna, theres no way you could lose a case like that.

what you did:

- Beat him in self-defence

What He Did:

- insult you

- Harass you

- Tried to hit you with a rock

Man that sucks :( The guy, Brian sounds like a total *****. He has no case. He's probably coming close to being homeless, if he looks as if he hadn't have taken a shower in weeks. The guy stalks you for several blocks, throws a rock at you, cusses at you, harrases you and he's going to try to press charges against you for that? That's just stupid. Good luck in court. Try to reverse charges. Rooting for you :)
