July 12, 20178 yr No, but there aren't many that do. Personally I can't quite understand how anybody can prefer listening to all of those synthesized sounds when there's much more pleasing instrumental versions out there. I mean they're still composed quite wonderfully and they sounded good at the time, but the reorchestrated versions are clearly superior. Whenever I go back and listen to the old versions, I find myself quite annoyed with how some of the synthesized flutes and violins sounded, by the time Birth by Sleep came around they definitely made the better call of using orchestrated work where actual instruments were needed (synth stuff fits better when you're trying to go for a more rock or digital vibe, like Space Paranoids or the Gummi Missions). I still understand the appeal in some cases, some tracks like Roxas, Another Side, and Destiny Islands still sound pretty good in their original form (not better than the new versions, but they still stand on their own fairly well), but others clearly haven't aged too well. Again, their composition is wonderful, that's why they sounded good then and why they sound better now, it's just the use of technology has shifted in a way that allows them to truly shine the way the were always intended to. Sorry if this isn't the support you're looking for, but I just wanted to put into perspective why many prefer the remixes' versions over the originals. Edited July 12, 20178 yr by Hero of Light XIV
July 13, 20178 yr Some of them I do. It's not so much that I like one or the other better it's just that they're slightly different, and since the originals have been ingrained into my head, there's a bit of dissonance whenever I hear a version that has a slightly different arrangement/production.
July 13, 20178 yr If you're talking about the remastered soundtracks of the KH HD remixes compared to the original PS2 tracks then I much prefer the remastered version. Not that the originals were bad, they were great, but the remastered soundtrack is just more pleasing to the hear,a lot of people bring He's a Pirate as an exemple on how the the new versions sound so much better and Home of the Dragons OMG,it sounds so much better then the original.I can't think of a single track I prefer from the PS2 games
