I was pretty excited when we saw Lauriam in the d23 trailer just now, but theres some stuff about the stuff he says that is a little confusing.

 

#1, why does he refer to himself as Marluxia?? He is not Marluxia, he is Lauriam.  Marluxia was destroyed and somewhere along the line his heartless was too, therefore *Lauriam* should be back.  Is he calling himself this because he thinks that Sora would remember him after the events of Re:Com? Even so, he doesn't seem so surprised when Sora doesn't remember him, and it looks like Lauriam wants revenge.

 

#2 There's something interesting about what he says - "The only Organization. And I, Marluxia, serve it."  What organization is he talking about? Is he talking about the new organization or the one he was in? It's really hard to tell cuz he was a traitor to the old one, and why on earth would he want to be in the new one?  Unless he's planning to stage another betrayal (who couldn't see that one coming).

 

#3 Where's his pal Larxene (LARXENE OMG)? In Re:Com she was really set on betraying the organization with him, expressing much anger when Namine screwed things up.  I would imagine Lauriam would want her back with him since they were such buddies (NO FANART).  I don't think Marluxia would want to act alone if he wanted to betray again, and Larxene shares that motive, so how will she play a role (ABOUT TIME SHE GETS SOME ATTENTION EH?)

 

#4 When on earth did he find out where Sora was? He should have returned to where he came from first riiiight? Is this his world? Dunno, cuz he made an appearance in the phone game that wasn't this world.

Maybe the Marluxia we see is ... well Marluxia as a nobody . It's not very clear to which Organization he is referring to . If he is part of the SoD Organization , then he is referring to the new one . If he is just being controlled , then it'd make sense that he is referring to the only Organization he knew about and that's the first one . I guess it's too early to know what had happened to Larxene . As for the last one , I really don't know how he knew where Sora was .

According to DDD, the Nobody names came from Xemnas subconsciously trying to mark the Organization as vessels.

 

Hence why Braig and Isa, despite returning as Somebodies, still use their Nobody names ("Xigbar" and "Saix"); they didn't fail the vessel criteria.

 

So even if it's a restored Lauriam, keeping the name "Marluxia" would mark him as one of Team Xehanort.

well he could be time traveling like in dream drop distance and theres nothing to suggest he sought sora out they could just both happen to be in the same world

That's what I've been saying.

I have a feeling Marluxia isn't part of the Organization of vessels. I also get the feeling that referring to himself as Marluxia further implies that Lauriam is his own person. Now I could be very wrong on that front, but Marluxia has his own agenda for sure.

The way Marluxia faded in Chain of Memories had some different animation than all of the others by adding petals and roses while he’s fading and then upon the end, it feels as if the way he faded looks similar to how he disappears while leaving roses behind him. So it could be possible that Marluxia didn’t actually die but pretended to be dead for sometime until he had regained a bigger plan.

 

Or it could be Lauriam trying to ensure that Sora doesn’t remember his nobody so he could start feeding him with fake information and as dull as we all know, Sora might easily fall into his tricks which could be used for his own advantages.

 

Comparing between the two theories, I don’t think that having him to appear in Kingdom of Corona would be considered coincidental with the appearance of the lesser nobodies that resemble his personality, which means that they could be under Marluxia’s control and who could actually control lesser nobodies? Yup you got that right, the nobodies with strong well and they are basically the organization which makes the first theory of him being Marluxia to be supported

 

Regardless of which one he is, I believe that he isn’t part of the new organization of Xehanort but instead forming his own organization with him being the leader of it. We all know how Marluxia adores leadership and domination for personal interests and achievements and becoming a leader while choosing his own members could still be a possibility and he could be considered as a fourth force against the Guardians of Light, Seekers of Darkness and Maleficent’s personal force.

What supports this expectation is the simple fact that Marluxia’s/Lauriam’s eyes were simply blue unlike any member that joins the new organization that would at least have Yellow/orange eyes, unlike what we see on the trailer. That might simply indicate that he isn’t part of any of the two fated forces
