So, school has started(for those of you still in it) and I have had trouble with school/homework and I know others have too.

So I made this.

This is a thread dedicated to helping with any problems you have with school or homework.

Mind you, we won't just give you answers but we have to actually HELP you. Don't just expect an answer like:

The answer is 4.

or

Lewis structures.

Just elaborate as much as you can so a person can actually GET the problem or question.

kthnxbegin.

:D

I am really good at math: if anyone has any questions regaurding math i can help you out.

I've taken Differential equations, and Calculus 4.

I LOVE YOU. <3

um lets see: i'd start off by trying to figure out if there are any values that you do not know: are those letters all unknowns? are 1 of them given.

If they are all unknown they want you to figure out which is the larges or which is the smallest: Example: *which is not necessarily right* B>X>M (this is usually done by...inserting 1 value in one of the variables. B,X, or M and then solving for the other 2.

I hope that helps.

2.3 Evaluate

4b * m < 6x

I honestly don't get what this question means, like 15th above me, what should we evaluate? Is there any other clue in the problem or that's it?

Anyway I think I'm best with analysis, if you need to write a paper you can call my help.

That question's kind of wierd... All of them have variables so, to me, it's almost impossible to figure out which are which. You can't really isolate anything or get rid of anything because they are all different letters. It doesn't give a value for any of the variables?

It's not impossible just challenging. *hint plug 1 into one of the varanles on the left side then that will give you 2b<6x plug in varables that meet the criteria=victory fanfare*

I still don't get it, if b and x are still not known, won't it merely resulted in 4b or 4m? isn't without knowing any of those variable it's actually nonsense to put < there, since b (or m) can be huge and x can be decimal? Seriously either I'm lacking on general knowledge of the question (though I doubt there's that kinda thing here) or I'm too dull for this or this question doesn't make sense (but then why would lexi's teacher giving it)?

I am curious now 15th, please explain carefully

Thank you

In a standard evaluation problem you evaluate the example...

To meat the requirements of this type of question you must use numbers in place of those variables...even if they arn't given...

Any number xept 0 of cousre.

1 is probably the best so...its

2*b< 6*x now: this being the case....

we then devide by 2, following the rules of Greater than signs, and thus making it stay the same as...

b<3*x This being said...if...b<3x then x and be could be any numbers that meet that requirement.

If m is 1, how come it becomes 2b?

There's only 11 questions? l0l

Is it asking you about a step you are supposed to take?

@ Aaron

My mind hurts. o-o;

I had the most epic question as the last one on my math test xD :

If I gave Tyler 16 hams and J.J. three rulers, how many pairs of shoes would Amber have? Amber is the name I go by in school.

Half my class got this wronggg. xDDD

I am sorry i forgot it was 4b not 2 b....i was just used to...giving that as an example...

Ignore that part...lol i misstyped 2 alot

/facedesk.

@butterflylexi: i hope you said 1

Uh, no, "1" is the wrong answer.

Not sure how you got that. xD

It's a trick question. The answer was that there was no answer.

1. List the Aufbau sequence of orbitals from 1s to 7p.

2. Write the electron configuration for the following. (No short cuts).

a. Kr

b. W

c. Fe

3. What elements are represented by the following configurations? Ground or excited?

a. 1s^2 2s^2 2p^5

b. 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^6 4s^2 3d^8

c. 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^6 4s^1 3d^9

d. 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^6 4s^2 3d^10 4p^6 5s^2 4d^10 5p^6 6s^2 5d^1

e. [Ar]4s^2

f. [Xe]6s^2 4f^4

I seriously do not understand this Chemistry shit. & I thought the whole Mole thing was hard...

Chemistry? I FAIL at that but I know someone who is good at that.

Noctis007. You can wait til he gets on or message him.

BTW, what IS electron configuration? I'm taking Chemistry so, if you don't mind... xD

Alright xD

Electron configuration is all those weird numbers with letters & powers in my above post. It's kinda like a "map" where you start from the far top left & keep going right until the next row of elements.

Yeah, that made no sense. I stared at my teacher with a blank face when she explained all of that...

Yeah theres only 11 questions. It only a one hour maths exam. But you arent allowed to use calculators or anything. Tech free.

And each question has like 2-3 parts so theres really more than 11.

Noones done my question yet:) comon guys its easy:P

@Jenny.

Chemistry is the worst. I did it last year. Got like 40%. Dropped that class hard.

I took Algebra 1 in middle school tooXD I gots to skip a grade! ^.^

ummm is the 2.3 the chapter in your book or something? and what are you exactly tring to find? b, m, or x...? or is it something else that I'm completely missing?

EDIT: yikes! there are 8 more posts now! /shot for being so slow xD

LAIZ. The cone of death pwns.

What kind of math is it? Geometry?

Its supposed to be Maths Methods. Which is a calculus based course.

Ill give you a clue. To solve it you have to use Similar Triangles. Which conveniently our teachers never taught us.

Cause well, similar triangles are bullshit.

Has Aaron ever posted this much within a span of an hour before?

How do you find the number of electrons in an element? I fail at school. Dx

EDIT:

@khoathkeeper13

No, you're not solving for anything (I don't think). You're evaluating. asifiknewwhatthatmeant 2.3 is the section of homework. I'm on Chapter 4..ish..I think. xDDD I have a sub, so I have no clue what I'm doing, and the book just confuses me more. x.x

The number of protons lol

To be stable they have to have no charge. Therefore the number of protons and electrons are the same.

Aaron is just wanting help xD

I DONT TAKE CALCULUS SO I CANT ANSWER HIM.

c. 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^6 4s^1 3d^9

d. 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^6 4s^2 3d^10 4p^6 5s^2 4d^10 5p^6 6s^2 5d^1

e. [Ar]4s^2

f. [Xe]6s^2 4f^4

I seriously do not understand this Chemistry shit. & I thought the whole Mole thing was hard...

This hurt my head to attempt to understand ANY of this ^^^ (Still in Science 1 and am now think that I am going to FAIL Chemistry)

I absolutely HATE math but of course its my best subject xD

I can help anyone with Geometry if anyone needs help with that (unless its something we haven't learned yet)

1st of all, thank you so much for creating this thread VenRox :D Now I won't have to be so confused with my homework xD

Alright so anyways, so I'm taking USA History right now. So, my group got assigned the colony of Georgia and the group elected me to be the "Governor" of the state which means that I will have to create a promotional flyer to others convincing people to settle there and I will also have to act as the "official greeter" for the colony for the "settlement fair". Also, I will have to answer questions about Georgia.

So this is my question, what would be one "factoid" about Georgia that would convince people to settle in Georgia?
