KH Wii game - weak possibility?

Posted

A lot of times this semester I've considered trading in my Wii, but the main thing that makes me hesitate is if there's ever a Kingdom Hears game released on the Wii. 'Cause that would suck for me, you know?

I'd be perfectly content if Square Enix never released a Kingdom Hearts title on the Wii. I kind of doubt it, since it seems like the major titles (not to diminish the value of the side stories and the prequel of course) are on home consoles (PS2 only so far), and I doubt they're going to release a non-handheld KH game again until Kingdom Hearts III. I think.

Obviously it looks like it takes a lot less time to develop a handheld game instead of a home console game---so I don't think SE is going to be spending a ton of time making more home console KH games before KHIII, right? I think Re:Chain of Memories was unusual, but it also was a remake. I guess they could make a Re:358/2 Days or something, but I feel like SE would be more likely to release a home console game on a Sony system since that's what they've done in the past.

Though then again, they won't be making any more PS2 games, and even doing a remake of a KH game on the PS3 would take a long while (and Nomura has said he'd like to remake KH1, but probably won't before KH3), so I guess that rules out remakes on home consoles. Even if they were thinking about releasing a side story on the Wii, that would still take a long while to develop---although probably not as long as development time for a PS3 or 360 game.

So, do you guys agree that it's unlikely a Kingdom Hearts title will come out on the Wii? I need feedback on my speculation as to whether or not I keep my Wii because of this. :)

A friend of mine thinks the Wii is a likely option for KH3 because SE will want to put it on the most widely owned console. But I don't know...like when they were contemplating on doing a remake of KH1, they said an HD remake right? And the Wii has good graphics in my opinion, but it's not exactly HD...so maybe KH3 will go on the PS3 after all?

Urgh, don't really want my Wii though. I'm a person who doesn't like stuff "just sitting there untouched." So maybe I'll trade it all in and hoard my savings until I know what KH3 will be on. :P

It could be possible that there'll be a game on the Wii. i hope so. I think it's a good idea

Nomura mentioned in one of his interviews that he was planning on making a KH game for the Wii. But they would be in episodes similiar to that of Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Ick, I feel like making it in separate episodes wouldn't be so great...

I doubt it since the Wii control fails sometimes, it would have a lot of problems lolol

I don't really care if a KH game ends up on the Wii. xD I have a Wii, so.. yeah. But it'd be pretty cool if it did end up on the Wii one day.

Actually, Nomura has said that he would like to have a KH game on the Wii. But they would be in eopisodes similiar to that of Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Wii=PS2 with motion control.

That was back when they were planning to release Coded for wiiware

No, it`s much closer to say, an X-Box.

Its graphical potential is largely underused.

Square should keep it on Playstation, and handhelds. Nuff said.

So, you're saying you just want Kh series to just be on Playstation handhelds and consoles? No, because sony's consoles/handheld are way expensive, plus Nomura said that hye wand a KH game on every console, INCLUDING the Wii. And since Sony's handhelds and Consoles are always over-priced, it KH wouldn't make too many sells as it does now. So, having Kh on different consoles will save the trouble of buying a sony handheld/console for just one game. And it will boost their sells on KH games as well.

All things considered the PS3 is quite fairly priced right now and always over-priced for sony consoles in general? please do explain. how much of the 14 million copies of the series were sold on the DS? anyways :)

But remember, back when the PS3 was out, it costed over $600.00

back when it was released on November 17, 2006. That was way over-priced, which is why not much people had even bought the PS3 back then, and it didn't sell too well. 348/2 Days sold over 1.22 million copies world wide.

@Hatok, I wasn't talking about Coded. I am talking about Nomura's recent interview when he said that he wanted to have a KH game on the Wii for the WiiWare service.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure he was referring to their original plan for Coded.

No, you're assuming I am talking about Coded. I am telling you, Nomura said in a recent interview that he would like to make a KH game for the WiiWare, but doesn't have the time to do that.

I know that. Lol. But I was just sayin' it'd be cool if it ended up on the Wii 'one day'. Like, sometime in the future. Having it in episodes is a good idea too.

I don't see how not assuming what YOU are saying has any effect on what Nomura was saying.

As in, I'm pretty sure when Nomura was talking about Coded for the Wiiware.

I really don't get your posts, it sort of seems like you glimpse over the most important words, and put the rest together based on guesswork.
