the game had overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam

before and after people called them out

getting mad at game devs for using gen ai is just performative outrage

Yeah cuz barely anyone noticed the ai generated texture cuz it was minute and they removed it in a later patch

nobody cares

they thing is they didn't even have to

Yeah sure man when all our games sre filled with generated slop surely no one would care

But they did, showing that they do care for their community

imo people who enjoyed E33 but then complain about using gen ai for smaller stuff in other games are massive hyporcrits because it clearly didn't ruin their enjoyment with the game

They literally got called out and they removed it

They didn’t respond with “oh we dont care” they actually REPLACED it

they didn't even need to remove it because people already finished the game before it became even public knowledge and people enjoyed the game already before everything came out

The outrage here is a well known game dev who had won goty just recently outright telling people they dont care for gen ai

smaller use of AI has no effect on people enjoying the game

You’re literally saying it yourself

They used it

They probaly only did it for good pr I bet they had full intention of either never acknowledging it or saying later how they used it and "its a good thing actually"
