they are just there to tank big attacks

it's crazy that FFX still has the best steal system btw

it's so well designed

you can one shot enemies with mug or steal and Rikku is really broken with the buffs

in terms of turn-based it's probably Octopath Traveler 2 > Persona 5 Royal = FFX for me

octopath is just pure magic in terms of what they achieved

yes but that's a balance issue

and not necessarily fault of the systems

in terms of overall design I like P5 a lot

the confidant abilities are what makes the combat system unbalanced

they fixed most of that in P3R though

being able to summon high level personas with rank 5 in p5r was so busted

or the futaba rework in royal

the ai was just too smart

atlus realized that which is why they completely reworked the role in p3r

fuuka doesn't spam buffs like futaba and the player gets full control now regarding the buffs

because it's tied to her limit break

I still like royal more though

because the animations have more weight
